They have an exceptional restaurant with authentic Bengali dishes.. don't try Chinese and others, order for Indian & pure Bengali dishes. You will feel amazing. Location was also very decent, a small lawn with a tiny swimming pool as a kids amusement park. Overall it is 💯 recommended.

I along with my family stayed in Room number(s) 301 and 305 for a short vacation. The rooms were spacious and clean. The linens were clean though there was a spot of dirt on the comforter. The rooms had attached balcony, though there is not much of an enchanting view. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel restaurant, but took dinner for one of the nights. The food was tasty and pleasing to the taste buds. I would personally recommend egg tarka paired with some hot butter rotis. The service was quite fast and the staff were attentive to the need of guests. I personally had a pleasant stay and would recommend further.

Calling it a hotel would be wrong. It is a lodge with an average restaurants and a very small swiming pool. The rooms are very small. Cleaning and all were fine but with small bathrooms and rooms the overall experience was bad. The lift was small to only occupy one person with their bags or max 2 individuals at Max. Quality of food and the breakfast spread was satisfactory.

Excellent service i have never seen anywhere. This was my first time stay and i am very happy. Let's come to rooms , rooms are small in size but very well organised and they provide everything you need. Housekeeping is very good very cordial. Staff behaviour is extremely warm. In house restaurant is awesome. I just loved it. Awesome decoration, superb maintenance and excellent quality of food. Generally i have seen in 3star hotels in house restaurants are not good and very expensive but here is not that same case I can say a complete package they are offering with a decent price that's the most important thing. I will vist again for sure.

Food was okay. The ambience is really nice. Heard about their serving the wrong dishes and the same happened to us. Ordered something and they served us something else. When told them about that they took some time and served the right dish. Also they complemented the wrong dish served. Sometimes a little crowded with inhouse guests.

Situated in the heart of the town, well connected to public transport. No private parking space but cars can be parked in front of the hotel and they have 24x7 security posted outside the gate. Food was good and not too spicy. Staff was courteous. Rooms are average in size, water kettle, toiletries and tea-coffee sachets were given in the room.

The staffs behaved with generosity except the Manager. The manager was disrespectful, impolite. All over l would recommend this to my friends and family and would visit again 😊 The room was spacious and clean. It provides with complementry stuffs and all.........

Food quality is good though variety is less. Convenient location. Staffs are well behaved, very prompt on service. Spl to mention *Posto Bora*. Parking pblm, and I think rooms are required to paint and so the presentation of the rooms. Otherwise recommended to spend leisure... !

Got robbed a 1000 bucks for food stains on bedsheet and towel. They claimed, it to be unusable for other guests. Never heard anything like it in my experience at so many other hotels. Also their swimming pool is a mostly show and not for actual use. You need to wear their filthy swimsuits already used by dozen other guests before you, if you want to use the pool. You can check into this one, but be wary about these things. Good luck.

Located near the WBTDC guest house just off the main road. The property looks nice from outside. Good dining area with nice light arrangements. The place boasts a large lawn with a stage where they used to hold Baul songs at Saturday night before the covid hit hard. The food was good. The normal rooms are a bit small for a family with one kid. Some of the rooms are overlooking the garden and swimming pool area and thus provide good views. But the other side is towards a decaying building so you will not be able to keep the balcony open after evening. Overall, a decent stay but ask for the rooms wisely.

Very much okayish property! Staff is a bit arrogant, quality of rooms are very very basic with compared to the price we paid. We had to literally call the reception guys a thousand times to switch on the geyser. What kind of a good hotel does that in winter times? Restaurant service was very average. After we complained, then they tried to make it up, and we appreciate that.

Stayed with full family for 1 night in "Four Bed A.C. Superior Room". Nice hotel along with its garden and pool, staffs are friendly and it's in a good location. Also the hotel restaurant food was delicious. The only thing we did not like the washroom, its four bed washroom was not clean enough whereas its all two bed rooms washrooms were neat and clean (saw those empty rooms when housekeeping boys were cleaning). Not sure why the hotel management is paying less attention to four bed rooms. Overall, our stay was at par.

Small cozy rooms, good price, great food, small cute swimming pool, a beautiful lawn, 3 swings and a slide for kids. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

The hospitality extended by Hotel Royal Bengal Shantiniketan has compelled me to write this note. I shall feel guilty if I deprive them of the appreciation they deserve. I must thank the whole team who attended us, and must mention the name of Ms. Barsha in particular who took all the cares from reservation till our check out. All together The service they have rendered to us was meticulous.. The food quality was superb and was really very tasty, makes you feel more hungry. I must say the whole team consists of professionals, well mannered very well behaved and make you feel very special. Overall the property is very good and well located. We liked the rooms and everything. No complaints. Our stay here will stay alive in our memories for long.. Our best wishes for all of them.

Pros: 1. Very good location, near the toto stand. 2. Staff behaviour is very good and helpful and always ready to serve. 4. Clean room and toilet 5. Organized tribal dance show in the evening free of cost for the guests. Cons: 1. Very less charging points in the room. Only 2. And 1 is used for mosquito liquid plugging. They need to increase the charging points in each room as we all use many electronic devices these days. 2. Food price in the hotel restaurant is a bit high. 3. Swimming pool was not operational at the time of our visit.

Hotel Royal Bengal is a great place to stay in Bolpur. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is also located in a convenient location, close to all the major attractions. I would definitely recommend Hotel Royal Bengal to anyone visiting Bolpur. Here are some specific things I liked about Hotel Royal Bengal: The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable and the linens were crisp and clean. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a convenient location, close to all the major attractions. I would definitely stay at Hotel Royal Bengal again if I was visiting Bolpur.

Edit: 03/10/2023 The hotel only improved after Corona. Service and food, everything has become better than before. The staff members are very professional. The executive rooms are excellent. Paid breakfast has so many more items. Quantity and quality of all the menu items are great. Most courses serve two persons properly. The only gripe I would like to mention is that often there are typical noisy 'Bangali' families who doesn't respect the hotel's ambience and keep making noises and high-volume 'discussions' even at 1 am, 1:30 am. The hotel management should really take strict steps now. This is a long-standing problem. First review written on: 21/08/2018, 10:35 am Royal Bengal is a good choice in Shantiniketan because most of the other hotels are just disgusting with sub-sub-subpar rooms and services. This could have been the only sentence in the review of this hotel. However, as an expert hotel reviewer I must explain a few things in detail. 1. Rooms: small, infact very small I have to say. A deluxe AC room should not be that small. Poorly maintained rooms are also. Peeling walls, gaps between doors and floor, and windowpanes and walls. The AC, thus becomes inefficient. Speaking of AC, the window AC (some rooms have this type, some split ones) makes more noise than cooling the entire room. The poor positioning of the AC adds to the woes. Only a part of the room becomes cold and the other part remains well enough warm to feel uncomfortable. My room, on entering was found full of dust - on the floor, on the bed sheet, on the pillows and on the tables. It was a terrible first-sight. However the management promptly sent a personnel who changed the sheets and covers and cleaned the tables when complained to. 2. Bathroom is OK. Good thing is that they provide good toiletries and also dental kit (with two brushes and a tube of paste) and disposable slippers in deluxe AC rooms. I liked the gesture. 3. The restaurant downstairs is OK, too. However, a few points the staff must keep in mind. Yes they are very genial. But they are callous. The problem with the staff members is that they are accustomed to serve typical middle class Bangali tourists mostly; not tourists or travelers from national or international levels in abundance. So when black tea is ordered, a typical black sugary 'dessert' comes in a teapot. Even simple small food joints now offer tea, sugar and artificial sweetener separately. From next time onwards when ordered specifically for serving tea and sugar separately, the sugar that came with the tea was almost inedible with dampened lumps and full of black dirts. This is totally unacceptable. When ordered Chinese, there should be atleast three containers having tomato sauce, chilly sauce and vinegar present. But no such provision is there. When asked for, no one bothered to respond. This is also unacceptable. Overall food quantity is good compared to the price. The buffet breakfast needs much improvement. Keeping the breads already toasted is a very poor practice in hotel business. Toasts should be prepared on spot according to the choice of the guest. The typical every day menu - luchi-ghughni is pretty much pathetic in taste. However the ambience and decor of the restaurant is superb. See, this hotel is good. Infact, as I mentioned in the beginning, this is one of the very few hotels choosy clientele would like to book. The hiccups I pointed out, if corrected by the management, this hotel will be the best in Shantiniketan. They have that potential. In a gist, for a no-fuss stay with your friends or loved one in well-priced rooms and with hygienic foods this hotel is should be the first choice.

Excellent hotel, very courteous and helpful staffs, breakfast was very good, location wise perfect. Only negative point that i experienced is that the room 307, that i stayed, had no balcony, faced difficulties in drying wet clothes. Rest ok.

A good property to stay at Shantiniketan. Room service and staff behaviour is extremely good. Now they have installed an EV Charging station which is really beneficial.

Pros: Good location, staffs are cooperative, well behaved Cons: Rooms are small. Most of them without balcony. Queen size bed, not fit for family with children. Bathroom is small, fittings are old fashioned, looks unclean. Unclean linen. Tv doesn’t work. Very very small and unclean pool. Restaurant food is costly. Parking is on road. Not at all 3 star hotel.

Rooms are not just tiny but are also not well maintained. The fan regulator was broken, hot water unavailable, AC air had a pungent smell - clearly there was no servicing done to it. The restaurant people are unprofessional, receptionist was inefficient and we were totally ripped off as we had paid 13,000 rupees for 3 nights. Also, do not take the complimentary breakfast. The hotel in general is understaffed and the staff's of 'Sonajhuri Restaurant' will bug you early in the evening for dinner orders everyday. The only thing I liked was that the swimming pool was well maintained and they provide swim-suit if you need. The garden area is good for an evening walk as well and there is a nearby auto/toto stand. However, there is also a government tourist hotel nearby which is far better and way cheaper.

Room interior is very average. I don't feel that it is 3Star Hotel. Food quality is ok no issues of that. Behaviour of the hotel staff not so good.

Had a very poor experience. Absolutely not worth the money I'll start with the positives: 1. The location is good, near to most destinations. And has basic civic amenities 2. Has a pool (didn't try it). And looks good from the outside Cons: 1. The room sizes were extremely small, and had very dirty linens & bedcovers 2. Washrooms were cramped 3. Poor hospitality. Despite repeated requests to change the bedsheets or take a look at the faulty shower, no steps were taken 4. The breakfast buffet is a whole other fiasco. Half the items on the menu are not available such as bread loaves, or omelettes. The dining space is designed in such a way, that no more than 3 people can easily stand in a queue for the buffet 5. Wifi is available. Do not rely on the wifi at all for any important work 6. The last straw is the behaviour of the staff. Extremely poor hopsitality

Location wise it is good, but rooms should be more specious and clean. Bedcovers were not so clean i requested them to change it. But the service and behaviour of the staff are very very nice and polite. Overall a good experience. Cheers!!!

Pros: good location, good ambiance. Staff are courteous & well behaved. Cons: No secured car parking ( is in open road). Rooms are small & lacks maintenance. Untidy toilet. Restricted pool. Complimentary breakfast is ok. Restaurant foods are costly.

Location wise good. 1.5km approx from bolpur railway station. Rooms were good. Staff were polite and well behaved. Bathrooms were clean and constant supply of hot water from geyser. Economy rooms are a bit less spacious. Food quality not good. Food is very rich and oily. Food is quite expensive and quantity for 2 persons is more than enough. Better try out food from outside restaurants if you are not looking for rich and oily food.

It’s a decent hotel. The location is good. The room was specious and clean. Bathroom was also very clean and well maintained. Stuffs are very friendly and helpful. They have a well maintained swimming pool and a small play area for kids. Food is also very testy and a lot of variety are available in their menu. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
