Just returned back today from the resort, having stayed from 14-17Oct2023. While the service staff and the restaurant were excellent, only issue faced during the 3night stay was the unavailability of a proper sleep option for an extra adult (daughter) inspite of making advance payment for the booking. The website nor the booking staff mention anywhere nor did they call to notify that the 3rd adult person in the double bed-room will be provided a mattress separately and is expected to sleep in the floor. How absurd and obnoxious of this resort to assume that such booking visitors will be doing this. This is very very misleading and I had a good 10minute argument with the booking staff today. The rooms were empty on 14Oct and we reached the resort by 9am for check in. To sustain their hype of in demand rooms, they denied the checkin until about 11am. Understand that they have a checkin time of 12pm but why harass your visitors for the 2-3 hrs, when the rooms were empty? As you enter the room first time, it had a strong smell of moss and fungus on the walls. It was evident from that strong smell that the rooms were locked for atleast a day or two, if not for a week. Disgusting experience and would advise future travellers with 3 adults planning to visit this place, should definitely avoid this resort. You may visit for food definitely as it was great.

The restaurant was very fine to me. The food was delicious. The resort is located next to the famous hut. Don't forget to walk around at night it's very safe and beautiful everywhere. There are a few stalls near the resort run by villagers that I recommend you try the food from. I didn't book online because it was showing too high a price. I went there and asked for a room. They allow couples to stay at their resort. Overall it was good to stay there and enjoy the surroundings.

Rooms are small as per tariff. They are charging only for the place .We have stayed a couple of times but last time we availed a guest house near Viswa Bharati Campus and felt it was more happening than the resort.

This is a basic Restaurant located inside the SONAJHURI HAAT area in the Bolpur/ Shantiniketan international heritage institute Created by Nobel Laureate Rabindra nath Thakur more than 100 years back. This Market had developed some 12/15 years slowly promoting local villegers produce and artefacts . This restaurant serves complete Bengali cuisine with great flamboyence having quite standard quality foods with variety We Bengalis appreciate mostly. The cost is little up-beat but availability timings are quite large like from 10 am till 6 pm in the restaurant v ning. This time we had our lunch at around 5 pm, and still prepare hose stewarts and service boys wes serving with same zeal and enthusiasm. They serve the food on Brass and metal utensils and the ambiance of the restaurant is also loke a jungle palace and hemed usually looks nice They also have started a Coffee /Tea & Snacks counter also this time who are also doing great business. So, next time you are visiting Bolpur/Shantiniketan and prefer Bengali Cuisine can try it out. Thanks.

I took my parents and stayed here for 2 nights and 3days betweenJune 4 to 6, 2022. The bed size is large enough to fit 3 adults. Pros- Cordial staff, good food (both quality and quantity), great location (amidst the serenity of Sonajhiri forest and closest to the Haat. Cons- Room tariff does not even include drinking water, rooms are not cleaned regularly unless requested, no network zone and feeble wifi signal. The complementary tea is tasteless.

Staffs were generous, and their services were good. The price of dishes were pocket friendly too. This place is a complete mixture of village set up. I liked their interiors, those paintings on walls and their seating arrangements with sophisticated wooden seats. But if one wishes to have lunch over here then they need to be a little early by 12.30p.m because it is crowded, and it becomes hard for getting seats.

Very nice . All associates are of wonderful behaviour, services are highly appreciable, foods are too tasty. Every aspect of that place is magnificent. We will come Shantiniketan again and again to get this hospitality of this Ram Shyam Village Resort.

It's a nice resort near sona jhuri haat. We stayed 2 days here. Foods of the restaurant, are very good in taste and quantity. Rooms are not so big in size but comfortable, bathrooms are Ok. Rooftop 4 room are very good and specious. Check out time is very strong. The famous Sona jhuri haat is just beside the gate of the Resort. The services of the resort, are not so professional. I can say just OK.

We only had lunch there. It was good. Head lunch there before, so went again. 170/ person complete veg thali. All non veg items are add on. On AC room extra 10% add on total food amount

The resort is in the heart of the Sonajhuri market.Outlook of the resort is ok, but, the double bedded room provided to us are small & not as per expectation, the rate is quite exorbitant during season time. Basic amenities are missing in the room & even the intercom was malfunctioning during my visit. Food quality was good & surrounding atmosphere was pleasant. My grading is 3.5.

It's situated at the end of sonajhuri haat. Location wise it is very good and very calm. Rooms are clean but I think room size is small according to the rate. Food is very good and this restaurant is popular. Staffs are very polite and behaviour is also very good.

We just returned today from there, the behavior of the staff are very very bad, we booked a four beded room... The room was very small, conjested and unhygienic according to the price, floor mat was very dirty and we don't get any room cleaning service, their billing procedure is also not up to the mark, they know very well that today (24/10/23)we will leave the resort that is from room no. 16(7:00-7:15a.m.) to catch the Intercity Express, management of the resort didn't care to serve us morning tea inspite of our several request...Other than the food quality of lunch and dinner is not so good in comparison with the menu price... The last serious thing is that some outsiders are openly loitering within the hotel premises which is not desirable from the security point of view...As such I am attending upon the higher autherities of the resort "Ram Shyam" to be very cautious about their staffs from room service, cash management and safety and security of the hotels throughout 24hours...So we think that your rating of the hotels does not match with your activities...

The restaurant here serves authentic, mouth-watering Bengali food. The Veg thali, along with their variety of add-ons are mind blowing.😋😋😋😋

It's situated just beside sonajhuri haat, Loved their food, I took Veg meal ( including Unlimited Rice-Veg Dal-Alu Posto-Alu Potol torkari , chatni Papad ) and Chicken Kasa , taste was very good , piece of chicken was large and soft . Price of veg meal was Rs 180 and chicken kasa was Rs 200. U can park your car , bike and toto infront of restaurant . U can book toto by Rs 200 for up-down journey from bolpur station .

Perfect place to stay in Sonajhuri. Food quality is very good. The staff are very polite and helpful. Managing authority is so helpful and polite. Nice ambience.

If you want to enjoy the real essence of shantiniketan, do stay here. It's in the middle of sonajhuri hat. Bonus is, people travel from far to have lunch here and hence if you stay here, you save alot of time in traveling . Also night view in sonajhuri jungle is breathtaking

We are extremely unhappy with this hotel though this is our 3rd time visit, complimentary tea has time, exact 7 am e tea na nile r debena, adjustment kore na . They are very rude, food quality gone down. Kokhono jabo na👎👎👎👎

We were healed in a peaceful environment surrounded by trees. There were vegetable gardens around the hotel, and the dishes made from those healthy ingredients were very delicious.

It's situated near Sonajhuri haat.Good place to spend time with near and dear ones. Well maintained and clean rooms.Servce was really beautiful .Food was very delicious, their veg thali is highly recommended.Must visited place.

Had a great experience, stayed for 1 night. Rooms are neat & clean including washroom, good services whenever we need anythings. Location wise also great as it's near to Sona Jhurir haat, had a great lunch and dinner experience as well. Very much satisfied and highly recommend.

It will feel like you are having lunch at a local home. Here you will get Bengali thali, chiken curry, fish curry, fried rice and etc. not to expensive and very nice to eat.

Today we return home from Santiniketan after staying 3 nights in this resort. Please read this carefully before booking any rooms in this resort, Booking Cancellation is not available and reschedule is available. We had booked rooms two months ago but due to some situation out of my two rooms, I had requested them to cancel one room for one night after explaining my situation. As per our first discussion, they had promised me that they will adjust something with my food billing but nothing adjusted and we had to bear full. While we are paying full at the time of advance booking, there must be cancellation clause. Pros: 1. Food quality and quantity is really very good. 2. The location of this resort is very good. Cons: 1. Room size is very small. 2. No complementary breakfast available. 3. Along with rooms they will provide only soap and shampoo. Everywhere they mentioned this soap and shampoo as special offerings. But as per my understanding, soap and shampoo should not be considered as any offerings from any hotel or resort. 4. Check out time is 11.00 am as per the website but, from 10.30 am they start asking us to leave rooms. During checkout no one was present to carry luggage - very unprofessional behaviour.

Rooms are a bit on smaller side. Some rooms have nice balconies but view is nothing tlof outside. Food available is so good in taste and in good rates. The market is just nearby but after 6 in the evening during winters you can not find any people around. Stay is nice and special.

Our family with eleven members stayed in the resort.We enjoyed stay along with melody of baul Sangeet, essence of village market of local hand crafts and arts. Further service and food quality was excellent.Front room view of jungle in night time is mesmerizing.

If you are in Sonajhuri Haat and you want to have a delicious lunch, this is the place. We have tried their veg thali, Mutton, Chicken. Every item was too good. Quantity of veg portion is unlimited. The Mutton and Chicken was not spicy but was extremely tasty.

Rooms are good, clean, air conditioning available in all rooms. Room service not available during Lunch hours. The room service at night was pathetic wherein we ordered food at 8 pm, and it was sent to us at 10.15 pm after multiple followup. The food was bad and unhealthy. Totally different than the great food available in the afternoon. If staying here, order in via Zomato/ Swiggy or eat out for dinner meals. Rest is okay.

Overall nice. Decoration and vibe definitely go with the theme Village. But according to me, rooms should be a little bigger because the rooms are too small. And the service telephone is disabled at night, if you need something (like water) at night then you have to go to the reception. So I think the service should be more well-managed.

First things first.. Until now we just went there to eat. To book a room out here you got to do it 3 months prior to your visit. Our main reason to visit Shantiniketan was to eat out here at Ram Shyam. I know this sounds quite wrong. One night stay at Shantiniketan would be 2days of lunch at Ram Shyam. That is how we calculate our trip and book our place. I must mention, the owner of this place is really a pretty, pretty good hearted person for sure. They served alu posto on a regular basis in an unlimited veg meal and that too at Rs. 170/-. At times the second item is Shukto. We were lucky enough to get this combination on the first day of our visit this time. The food is so much worth mentioning. It's a million.. no... a zillion times better than the best ever bengali restaurant in kolkata. The waiters will come and give you whatever and how much ever you need. They will even ask everyone sitting along with you. The first thing they serve is melted ghee. The ghee is soo good to be true. I cannot explain what's going on with while writing this review. The thought of the thali is making me hungry. Sides with mention would be mutton and be sure it's Kochi pathar jhol. Greatly cooked and awesome in taste. The chicken as well. You can try the fishes, like the sorshe pabda had quite a wholesome amount of posto and sorshe in the Gravy. It did miss out on the kacha lanka part. Sorshe Gravy is a bit incomplete without the kacha lanka. Now coming to the last part of the food. This time we had aam er chatni. Excellent. And then payesh. We were already full to the brim. But the payesh, you can never stay away from it. It was just so lovely. The payesh and chatni is part of the veg meal that we booked. I am really gonna end it now. Taste is really a personal choice but I I'd request everyone to eat here. So do try out. I would really want to stay here one as well. Will do. After having your lunch just head out and you will find a pan stall. Do have one, he is good as well.

Last week we stayed in Ram Shyam Village Resort. We had a wonderful experience. The ambience was great. The staff behaviour was very nice and caring especially Anjan Kundu. And room service staff Krishno was also very nice. Their food is just awesome!! We enjoyed in a very homely atmosphere. Looking forward for visiting again 😊😊

Loved this place. Good ambiance. Food is very much related to bengali traditions and very tasty.Service is really good 👍. Menu is very simple, you can have plain Bengali Veg Thali with contemporary side dishes as per your choice. Nice thing is you can have portions from veg thali unlimitedly.🤤 Had a great time.

It is an excellent resort to stay. Excellent ambience. If you are in Santiniketan you must visit this place to enjoy the essence of nature enjoy peace and be very close to nature. Stepping out from the What you can visit the sonajhuri haat. The staff is very good very polite and very helpful, the hotel rooms are very spacious and gives a complete feeling of village. The food is extravagantly tasty and feels like completely from your mother’s kitchen.
