Very disappointing experience !!! .. Rooms are poorly maintained and room service is not at all there. In comparison with the room tariff the condition of the rooms, beds, bed cover, blankets & service are very bad. Ambience is good but location wise for a tourist is not good as it locates in a very isolated place and difficult in terms of communication. Specially canteen facilities & service boys are awful. Extremely rude in their attitude and very much adamant. They do not know how to behave with guest. Good part is only, food is reasonable and tasty. Overall saddening experience!!!!

This is basically an university guest house, generally used by persons, who come for work related to the Visva Bharati university. It can be booked from the net. Preference is given to the university officials or those who are invited by the university. Basic facilities are present with a canteen supplying fixed meals and tea/ Coffee. There are both AC & non AC rooms. Situated in Purba palli, Santiniketan.

Maintanence is not up to mark, food is not up to mark. Price is high compare to quality. Location is fantastic.

It's the official guest house of the university. And surely it maintained really well. You can feel the atmosphere. If you are going in rainy season then the total atmosphere is at different level. In Front of this guest house there is a ground. The a.c. rooms are available for almost 1000 per day. If you are going to Bolpur and if you can accommodate then this is the best place. But it can be booked mainly by university so getting empty is rare. But if you can this is one of the best cheap option for staying.

Outsider not allowed but if you have some connection then you can go.... Food quality is good at reasonable price. But you have to wait to get your lunch.

One of the worst guest house in santiniketan. Their restaurant service is poorest among all. Staffs are very rude. Don't know how this government guest house perceived themselves. Not recommended.

In a very quite environment, inside Viswa bharati university campus. This place is very close to nature.

It's a great place,but it's restaurent and it's service is not upto the mark. It needs supervision by the higher authority.

They don't have any power backup and the Guest House management are totally unprofessional and rude.

The rooms are huge in size,neat and clean.The peaceful environment and the food. Altogether an awesome place.

The guest house does not have good supervision. No maintenance. Room is often allotted to the guests with bathroom but no commode seat. The dining room deserves attention and also food served. The authorities should see, if necessary increase the tariff even more than present Rs. 1000/-

Probably the best place to stay in shantiniketan. But the service is poor ( like any other central goverment employee reluctantly doing his/her job)

No room services, No TV line, Hot water is coming out in summer - if you bath or wash anything; your skin will burn, have to have Lunch by 2PM, have to Dinner by 10PM - in Breakfast only Bread and Butter, and all those orders you have to do one night before. If you really want to go back to the Boarding School days, this is your dream place !

Dormitory room (6 beds) are not good as floor tiles are broken, only single charger point, toilets have no provision for keeping cloths and towels. Only two towels provided for five guests! Geyser not working at all! No room service allowed. But, dinning is good. Some double bed room are good.

Rooms are great, ambience is too. Allover cleanliness is up to the mark. Washroom facilities need to be properly taken care of. Food quality is good but the staff mar that impression. Location is bit odd, parking space is more than enough. Ideal for those who need a quiet weekend, but I would recommend to avail food services from elsewhere.
