We didn't stay here but ate breakfast here one morning. Great coffee and cappuccino and excellent omelettes. Free wifi, and great views of the city and fort from the rooftop.

We recently visited udaipur and stayed at Shivam Guest House on 23rd 24th dec 2018, It was warm experience initially, from the host. We booked the room from MMT, where the checkout time was on 12 PM, But when we reached they said it was 9AM, which when explained about the MMT time , they considered checkout time would be around 10 to 10:30 AM, which is OK for us. This Guest house is run by an elderly man and a women(Husband and wife). On the very day of checkout at 8:45AM the woman started knocking at our door and asked to empty the room, we tried to tell her about what we had word with the owner, but the lady was not ready to listen to us, and asked us to immediately vacate the room, she was screaming at us, pointing her finger at us. No only that when we were discussing the incident inside the room, she was overhearing what were talking and replying us from outside the room. Total disgust. This kind of behavior was not accepted from the city of Rajasthan. I thought of reviewing good about it, but the incident and the scene she created was very disappointing. I would say if anyone don't want to lose their self respect, please think twice before booking the rooms at Shivam Guest House.

Great value for money. Room was comfy and clean, the hosts were nice and had delicious homemade food at the hostel. It doesn't feel like a proper hostel, more like of a big family house which they have rooms in so it feels very homely. I personally liked it. Really enjoyed my stay.

Overall experience was quite good, people there are friendly and the location gives a view of whole city even from rooms. Speaking of rooms, they were clean and big. Place is in middle of the old city therefore most of the places are nearby.

Stay at guest house was comfy and peaceful. Nice place, a good place at good price. Owners are friendly, and the view is great from the roof. Place made my overall experience, while I stayed in Udaipur, great. Thanks folks :) .

The best rooftop in town with a great view on the city palace ! However it's 10/15 min walk away from the very center and you don't have a lake view. The family managing the hotel is very friendly and helpful.

Found this place on lonely planet and it has been a real treat. For 600rupee, I get a big&clean room. Quiet place. Raj is a knowledgeable and helpful manager. The rooftop restaurant offers a great selection of affordable foods. View is awesome as well!!

Feeling in this Guest House like own House, Owners family behavior too Good but some facility not given like TV not available and Hot water not supply at the room of 2nd floor and No room service staff for supply drinking water tea and another food. (Only self service)

Worst place to stay. No saperate bathrooms and hot water. Beware of Dogs. My friend was about to be beaten. Rooms are too small. You can find much more better and cheap place to stay near this location. You have to walk a lot to reach there as it on height. Dont get into traps by the owners, especially landlady.

Worst experience ever... Never ever booked guys... No hospitality.. They reside in ground floor & worst location fr elderly people... Even they charged 1500/- per night which was far more than what they give.. They even didn't provide water(after we asked.. And in our bottle).. Shameless persons.. No humanity... Cheap mentality of their owners... Area is also like slum type colony... No cleaning... Small washroom... Hadd toh tab ho gyi jab bathroom me lock bhi nhi tha.. N never trust them.. Only plus point is that city palace is near... Worst experience... Very unprofessional.. We had worst experience ever... Mood was spoiled to some extent.. Hope they will not do with others..

We had a pretty good stay at Shivam, even though we had booked at their second place, Ganpati, which they had double-booked, annoyingly. The room was colourful and friendly, yet somewhat noisy (says owner: "quiet, eh?" yes, quite..). Bring a sleeping bag, because the sheets don't appear to be cleaned regularly. Staff is friendly and helpful, even though an awful lot is done by a teenage boy who'd be better off in school. "I'll send the boy", is the standard reply. The rooftop restaurant has a good view on the fort, but feels like a deserted and inhospitable place. Foodwise we only tried breakfast, which was good, and chai, which was bad. Haggle for the room rate - we paid 700, and later heard from other travellers that they were quoted 500 for the same room. All in all, a pretty reliable option and great location too.
