Actually North gate is just like a location. A large concrete gate is there which once served as a Royal entrance located at the North direction of the Royal Palace ( presently State Museum, Ujjayanta Palace). Other than that, the part is within the city only and we'll connected with other parts of the city by means of public transport like autorickshaw and bus. Some other important locations are also within the walking distance.

Although this place remains congested most of the time as it's a route to the main city. It's a historical landmark as it used to be the entrance gate to the Palace compound during the King's era.

It's the north side entrance to the Palace compound. Most of the govt. Departments and directorates are inside the palace compound and is accessible from the north gate. Directorates like Land Records, Registrar of co operative society etc are within walkable distance from here.

I have been staying over here for the past 13 years. In these years hell of changes took place over here. As years passed by the barren land which was previously a dumping yard soon turned into a marriage hall, so called Manikya Court. 4 years back (from now 2018) the field was used both for playing games (like football, ? cricket), athletes, yoga classes held early morning,plenty of gatheringsorganised by different parties etc , which was once an open field soon turned to be a stadium known as "VIVEKANANDA STADIUM" and recently the status of Vivekananda have been placed which looks splendid. This junction leads to go to four different paths also known as VIP ROAD. Early morning the streets are cleaned by people(both men and women) working under Municipality and makes the city look better which gets dirty due to people who has no courtesy to throw garbage inside dustbin instead they prefer throwing on roads, making it look more dirty. As years pass by ,this place will develop more. Right now, so called the Astabal bridge has already finished construction and is being used , where as the left over construction is under progress. There are few shops near the bus stand which includes fast food,ice cream parlour,fruit selling vendors and rest who sells fried corns I'm in sealed packets. At evening the panipuri vendor sells Golgappe, also there is SBI ATM . During evening this place becomes too clumsy due to the traffic ,the college buses, people returning from offices, vendors selling food.

Northgate is like the gate of Agartala. This gate which used to be the gate to Tripura's ujjayanta palace which now unfortunately turned into state museum.
