This was probably the worst hotel room I have ever been to. The room smelled of a mix of urine, smoke and drugs. I could barely maneuver around the room it was so small. There was hair and dirt on the bed linen. The shower stall had grime and mold. The beds had one stingy thin pillow that was more like a flat pancake than anything else. We packed out of there faster than you could say Jack Robinson. This place should be condemned and closed down. For shame.

We stayed for 2 nights, our room was a little small but modern and the beds were very comfortable had a really good night sleep. Price was reasonable for London, it was on a really good location, there was a bus stop right outside and metro station 10 minutes walk away with loads of shops on the street that was open until late, some of them 24/7. The receptionist were absolutely lovely, and always wished us a good day. They have even let us park our car in the front until the rest of day after we have checked out. I would definitely stay here again, when I return to London. 100% recommend.

I don't know why my husband booked us a room at this place. Rude gentlemen at the reception, working as punishment. As for the room itself, I have never seen such a dirty place. Dirty walls, floor and a dusty mattress full of hair, probably from our predecessors. Paper walls made it impossible to sleep because you could hear every step in the corridor. I would rather not mention the bathroom, I was afraid to take a shower. Something dripped on my head from the dirty ventilation. I don't know if it's a piece of loose dirt or something else.Disgusting , read the reviews and avoid this place.

You get what you pay for!! Basic place to stay easy access (direct bus) to the Arena and easy access to the tube. Not the cleanest place, small but comfortable. Unfortunately we had a fire alarm at nearly 1am.but that wasn't the fault of the hotel and they dealt with it.

A very pleasant hotel, the location isn't fantastic as it's about 30 minutes from London Bridge, but it served the purpose my partner and I needed. It's in a very Jewish community so bare that in mind as it's a fairly conservative area. The breakfast was great, I just wish it had more options like some fried mushrooms or tomatoes, but there was eggs (scrambled and boiled), hash browns, beans, and vegetarian sausages available. Along with a small selection of pastries, a fresh salad and some tuna mayo. Plus tea and coffee, however for the price (£10 and unlimited) it was great and filled us up. The shower was very small which wasn't ideal as my partner is very tall and definitely struggled a little bit to shower. The bed was soft and made every day, and neither of us struggled to sleep, plus the hotel has quiet times between 10PM-8AM which everyone respected so it really made for an overall pleasant stay. At the end of the day it's still a hotel and just a place to sleep for a couple of nights. It does have a lot of stairs though so if you need accommodations for disabilities just be aware that it might not be ideal for you.

The only reason I am writing a good review is because of the manager called Afshan. This very caring lady who ensured that our room was cleaned regularly and we had clean towels every day. She always greeted us with a warm smile and made sure the hotel was run professionally. This hotel is very well located and it is great to know that there is staff who care. The king Solomon is lucky to have her…

Great simple hotel and you get what you pay for. One thing that stood out is the location! Super close to Brent Cross station putting you straight in londons centre. One thing that could improve is cleanliness as the top of the wardrobe was filthy but other than that it is 👍. I checked-in in the evening where a man told me I can’t park for the whole day after I check out from the hotel but I rang the hotel earlier and asked where a woman told me I could park and that it is not a problem. This unfortunately forced me into panicking trying to find parking but I did. But again the hotel is great and simple and in my opinion a good location in London.

There is no denying that there are pros and cons of King Solomon Hotel. To start off, King Solomon Hotel is located at a pretty good location of Golders Green, with a 10 minute walk to Golders Green bus terminal and Underground station. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, grocers and cafes along the street and in Golders Green. Truth be told, the location is ideal for the price of the accommodation. The design of King Solomon Hotel has obviously been upgraded, or at least attempted to be. The design itself is quite nice but the quality of finish is questionable. Eg. carpets are laid on previous flooring and there could be bumps and squeaks from the ground when walking around in the room. Paint was haphazardly painted over water stains on the walls and ceilings, and rooms are not sound proof. There are no lifts in this hotel, and the stairs up are quite steep and small. Basically, if you ignore the finish and quality, the hotel actually looks appealing. Rooms are quite small, but liveable, while the toilets are nicely designed, but not built to be ventilated too well. There is a good range of channels on the tv, but no controller was provided. The breakfast spread was good and fair for the price which starts at 7.30am-9.30am But high compliments to the customer service at King Solomon Hotel. Staff at the front desk were very, very friendly, polite and helpful. They always put on a friendly smile and greeted guests as they arrived or left. What is included in the room were: - hairdryer - towels - body wash and shampoo - water boiler with complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk - closet & hangers - towels large and small NOT included: - room safe - mini fridge - iron & ironing board Would we return? Yes, definitely. The price was reasonable and fair, the location was very good and we enjoyed our stay!

Curious about the very negative reviews here, the staff were extremely helpful and even sorting the TV which was set to French Satellite! Room was clean and comfy and the bathroom was very clean and functional! We checked in early no problem and had a good stay.. Negative reviews rivals?

Good, clean rooms. The beds are super comfy and clean, feels very homely. The staff is very friendly, the price is reasonable for weekends (75£), everything was good. Only gave it 4 stars because the showers had lukewarm water at best, no matter how you twisted the knobs.

I arrived at the hotel on Friday at 4pm after talking to the hotel and was promised a place on the lobby floor. There was a very indifferent and antipathetic guy named Yoshan, he is new and I got from him the worst service possible. Did not interest him what I was promised just told me take the key or leave. I tried to explain to him that I have a lot of heavy things in other words he told me successfully with it. Not recommended at all now I understand why the rating of the place is so bad.

If you are looking for a good hotel, I believe it won't be the best hotel for you because the hotel is far away from London thing hotel is so noisy! Secondly, it should be the same price as what they have shown in online booking but I found it different. At first, I looked at the online price and it was shown £70 then I booked this hotel for one night and when I reached the hotel told me to pay £85 which was a very ridiculous service and fraud people. Another thing, they told us we need to check out at 10 am which was disgusting for customers. Like who wakes up at 10 in the hotel. I hope it will be changed in future.

100% recommended. Nice accommodation, lovely staff and great location to travel to the city centre in a small amount of time: tube and buses just a 10 minutes walk away from the hotel on a quiet and nice street with lots of shops and cafés open until late. Also, in spite of other reviews, the room was nice and clean (just bring your slippers with you if you don’t like to lay your feet on the carpet).

Happy with room. 1st day here. 4 stars so far. Great location. Nice staff. Don't take notice if other bad reviews. They seem to be expecting the Ritz for £60 a night.

It is not a bad hotel, but for the price I paid I did expect better. the lady at the desk when I arrived was standoffish, though the other staff were nice enough, and the room was quite small. It was clean, but there were lots of stairs to get to it and no lift which made carrying heavy luggage on my back hard. When i did arrive at my room I went to shower and the tap was broken so I got scalded with hot water and the fire alarm went off because there was so much steam, so a maintenance worker had to come and fix it, but all in all it was not a terrible stay. I would not come again, but there are much worse places to go.

Good location, cheap. Parking not bad. Fire alarm went off around 6 with no explanation from staff. Though staff are very friendly booked our breakfast no problem, all very nice. Noisy people shouting and walking around at 2/3 with no sign of staff or a phone to call reception. Room felt a little student accommodation not the cleanest but not bad for one night. Wish we had a TV remote for the TV and only one pillow a person. We stayed one night for a concert. Would probably come here again for the same reason but no longer than one night. You get what you pay for and staff are clearly working hardest they can with what they have to work with. Just needs a bit more attention to detail

I am staying in one of the rooms which are intended for a longer stay. The building seems to be rather old and my stay here is not without issues. However, overall, it is excellent value for what I am paying. My room is sufficiently spacious and it is clean and well-maintained. The hotel is in a safe and quiet environment and I enjoy watching the stars and the moon from the large window in my room at night. The location of the hotel offers excellent access to public transport - for instance, there is a bus stop just outside the hotel and the nearest London Underground station (Golders Green) is within walking distance. Between the hotel and Golders Green station as well as in all areas surrounding the station, there are a variety of good ethnic restaurants and other inspiring shops. The famous and beautiful Hampstead Heath is not far from the hotel. Thus far, for me, the best part of my stay is the extraordinary service I have received from the housekeeping/maintenance team of the hotel. The staff are courteous, kind, pleasant and professional. If I have any issue, they try to help me as soon as possible, and I am truly grateful. I feel very comfortable and happy staying in this hotel. Thank you very much!

First of all, this place should not be called hotel, but a Motel. I got to the motel at almost midnight, and I was welcomed to a nice receptionist who took my deatils and gave me my key to the room, with instructions where it is. I went to the room, walking through a long and unpleasent corridor, and got the room. The room is small, and in the first look - look ok. Its looks comfortable enough to sleep and nothing more. I went to the bathroom, and felt disgust. There are rust and nold in the shower, the place doesnt look like it been cleand thoroughly ever. I enterd the shower and almost burn myself, the water was burning hot, and no matter what I tried to do with the handle (moved it , wait a few minutes) nothing. I felt so disgustet to even enter the bed, because it didnt felt clean. The room does not have air conditioner, only a dusty fan which I coudnt use, and a tv, that doesnt work. I just waited to be out of this place. They have to bring cleaning company, an fix all the deficiencies in this place. I dont recommend no one to go there before that.

It was a good place about the location but the hotel had horrible service regarding the cleaning. I and my friends stayed here for 5 days. None of them the sits have not been changed at all just like the towels. The floor was dirty, with dust, hair, the litter basket has not been changed since we came and we found and a spider the last night. I don't recommend this.

Very disappointed, my worst experience I have ever had. As we walked into the hotel it had a very offensive smell, the bed sheets had not been changed blood stains all over them, when asked the cleaner to change them she said she would but, on return to the hotel the bed sheets were not changed, spoke to the receptionist who stated bed sheets are changed every three days, single room not suitable for men, box rooms and very difficult to sleep on small beds for a tall man over 5"8. The rooms are not cleaned daily, this is so unhygienic there was dust all over the bathroom and hair on the floor and again a very offensive smell. The beds are soo uncomfortable. This hotel is not recommended, please don't be fooled by the photos, pay an extra 40/50 quid and book another hotel it is not worth the experience what we have had.

Good location, decent for the price. The cleaning service is terrible. There toilet is not properly cleaned and there is mold that could be easily removed! I don't understand why they don't install a mechanic ventilator on the toilet, it would be so easy and solve so many problems.

I’m writing this review after vomiting and coming home feeling sick , They’re rooms are very small and not worth £129 per room , The breakfast was definitely not worth 9.99 per head , They lacked basic breakfast food items and only have two types of eggs boiled eggs (still in shell) and overly scrambled eggs. No bacon no sausage no fruits even though they mentioned it would be included , The things I am giving two stars for is the fresh pancakes and hot drinks machine but apart from that me and my partner faced racism (being followed whilst making trying to get food items at breakfast being stared at a lot by staff and also being asked if we could pay again after we already paid for breakfast) they also don’t have much customer service just overall a bad experience and I wanted to leave as we woke up. Not fun losing £149 for this type of experience, I would not recommend to anyone.

I'm not going to say the room was awful, but The Young Ones cones to mind when describing our room here. It was bad enough that rather than stay the night after seeing a concert we decided drive back home. The reception was tidy enough, but the guy behind the counter, was more interested in stuffing his face and talking to his mate on the phone, than talking to us. When he did finally decide to grace us with his attention and give us our key, his mumbled instructions on finding the room we're confusing. We then spent the next 10 minutes walking through a maze on corridors, stairs and alleyways trying to find our room, which when we did was ridiculously tiny,

Thieves... Worst hotel I ever been in terms of quality per price. Disguised as maybe a 3 star hotel, the only 3 stars thing you will find are the reception, the hallway and few rooms. The rest of it presented low igiene standards. Old and dirty carpet. The shower was not clean. A filthy stink of mould permeated the air in the corridors and the room. This was probably due to the poor ventilation system that could not cope with the incredible amount of fire doors you need to push to go anywhere (good luck if you have big luggage). To worsen the things our window could not be opened as they were like sealed in a weird way. The atmosphere was already quite unconfortable but was not enough: my wife was woken up very early by workers who were doing lots of noise next to our room. But the greatest robbery is the breakfast. No fruits, no yogurt no vegetable milk, no cakes, no fresh bread, no sausages, no cheese, no ham, no vegetables. No variety whatsoever. There were few cereals and few eggs with the cheapest white bread as accompaniment, and a pancake machine that was there like trying to cover the miserable setting. I left immediately for a coffee shop. Keep your distance and find somewhere better not too far, for sleeping and for breakfast.

This is a hotel that needs a lot of TLC to bring it up to standard. It is very 'tired' in places. The room was adequate, enough to get your head down for the night, but don't look too closely at the bedding! The staff were helpful and polite and I couldn't fault them. The location is perfect for seeing the sights of London. Overall, if you can get a cheap deal, this is an ok place to stay in.

Have stayed regularly for a few years when in the area. It is a two star hotel and until recently was worth the £60 (or thereabouts) I usually pay with the staff really bringing up the value for me. On my last two visits however there seem to be new men at the reception (no problem with men) but the customer service upon check in was utterly terrible. For the last few years the ladies that have greeted me have been welcoming and courteous and a real plus that makes overlooking some of the hotel negatives mentioned in other reviews easier. On the 1st of these visits I was amazed to be challenged about some kind of issue that must have occurred with a different guest (I’d never encountered this member of staff before), as I look a bit different to the guests I customarily see it did feel like there was an underlying issue that isn’t worth getting into. I was spoken to incredibly rudely and my partner was made to feel uncomfortable. After going back to the car and talking for a while my partner and I decided not to let this impact our time so decided to stay (wouldn’t have got our money back lol hard times). The few times I went out and in during the day, the eye contact was intense (really over the top) and really stained the hotels image for me which had become a very comfortable environment over the past years. The last time I booked, I arrived at the desk and the “gentleman” was there along with another male. It could have been a misinterpretation on my part but the interaction felt really passive aggressive and this time it was worth losing the money to learn the lesson so we left without checking in, good things don’t last forever. Also I must say, I never once left a positive review for all the times the service was 5 star, and that’s something I regret as the staff have been really amazing to us barring the last couple of visits and there are new members of the team who still keep this standard and while they would get a shining 5 star rating. I have to say I can’t see us returning. Would have given an extra star to acknowledge the past qualities but the second star says “okay” and for me it’s just not. I work as a hotel concierge myself and I just don’t get it. Cost nothing to be polite especially when you’re being paid🙏

WORST hotel you could ever go to, the room literally smells like pee , its smells so disgusting, the service is very very bad, there was so much noise that i had to be awake and stressed all night, the reception did absolutely nothing and paid 85£ for it, DISGUSTING do not go to this hotel. I had the worst night of my life.

  • 1/5 Kay G. 2 years ago on Google
absolutely disgusted .. they left me at the waiting area for about an hour , after repeating “ excuse me “ three times , the staff member looked up and i asked how long my room was going to take as i had been waiting a long time , not to mention while waiting at reception another gentleman had left the hotel due to the rooms being too small and foul. he then said that because i was on the phone is why he hadn’t told me my room was ready LOL! after finally getting my room my jaw dropped , tent bed with one pillow with marks all over the wall, foul smell in the room and honestly didn’t even want to sit down on the bed , i continued to take photographs and walked down stairs put my key on the desk and walked out . would not recommend at all it’s 2 stars for a reason , don’t let the photos fool you and the price to lure you in, there’s. a reason it’s so cheap , never ever again

Booked this hotel for 2 nights. Staff was nice, but the room…you expect it at least to be clean. Had weird stains on the door/walls. Floor clearly wasn’t hoovered. Please get a new cleaner, this is unacceptable!

  • 2/5 Naomi G. 1 year ago on Google
Shabby. Broken apparatus in bathroom, shower scalding hot with no option to adjust the temperature, no plug for sink, sink was blocked, heater in bedroom didn't work. Some staff at reception were rude and dismissive, though Sylvie was attentive. But location was good for closeness to food shops.

If you're looking for a nice but cheap place that serve a kosher breakfast that's the place for you :) I would add that I've been there a few times before and some rooms are 4-5 stars level and some are 2-3 stars level so make sure you know what room you're getting. Added pictures for one of the nicer rooms.
