Dakshineswar Temple is a magnificent Hindu temple located on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River in Kolkata, India. With its rich architectural beauty and spiritual significance, it stands as a popular pilgrimage site and a symbol of devotion for millions of devotees. The temple complex, dedicated to Goddess Kali, is renowned for its intricate design and intricate craftsmanship. Its main temple structure, adorned with terracotta work and towering spires, is a sight to behold. The temple's sprawling premises encompass several smaller shrines dedicated to various deities, creating a serene and spiritually charged atmosphere. One of the most captivating aspects of Dakshineswar Temple is its association with the great mystic saint, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. It was at this very temple that Sri Ramakrishna spent a significant portion of his life, deeply immersed in spiritual practices and enlightenment. The temple thus holds immense historical and religious significance, attracting devotees and spiritual seekers from all walks of life. Upon entering the temple, visitors are greeted by a sense of tranquility and devotion. The air is filled with the scent of incense, and the rhythmic chants and devotional songs create an aura of spiritual energy. The main sanctum, housing the idol of Goddess Kali, exudes an aura of divine power, drawing devotees to seek blessings and solace. The temple's riverside location adds to its charm, offering breathtaking views of the Hooghly River and its surrounding natural beauty. Devotees often take a leisurely stroll along the riverbank, taking in the serene atmosphere and finding solace in the presence of the divine. Dakshineswar Temple is not just a place of worship; it is a cultural and historical treasure that showcases the grandeur of Indian architecture and spirituality. Whether you are a devout follower seeking spiritual solace or a curious traveler eager to explore the cultural heritage of Kolkata, Dakshineswar Temple is an unmissable destination. In conclusion, Dakshineswar Temple is a sacred haven that blends devotion, history, and architectural brilliance. Its serene ambiance, stunning architecture, and association with Sri Ramakrishna make it a must-visit destination for spiritual seekers and those intrigued by India's rich cultural heritage.

Well maintained and clean . lots of place for parking. Most come with you family to spend some quality time. You can take the bath in Ganga if you want. You will definitely love the place. It doesn't have any entry fee but you have to pay some amount for baggage and shoes. From Howrah you can board the bus -56 and you can take the same bus while returning from Dakhineshwar.

A place where u can find the peace of mind. So many people around but still u cam feel the calmness when u sit beside the river Ganga. Devotees come here in large numbers from many places to take the holy bath of river ganga. Accourding to the saying of locals if you take a bath here all your sins gets lost and you become a clean human. In the evening from 6pm "Sondha aaroti" is held here. Please try to keep ganga clean by not throwing flowers or plastics garbage etc on it. /Come and take a holy bath in Ganga/

It is a peaceful place amidst the bustling environment outside. It is usuallly crowded all the time. There are benches inside by the river bank to sit and relax. The view is magnificient, combined with the railway bridge crossing the river. You can feel the vibrations as the train passes over the bridge. The ghats are also an ideal place to sit and relax.

Due to the Covid-19 situation a lot of rules and regulations have been added with hell lot of security. Don't forget to wear mask and take minimum things to the temple in order to avoid queue.(You need to submit mobile, bags and shoes before entering the temple) If you want to take the Holy water... There are some local people to whom you can pay and they will bring you the water...and try the Sweet outside the temple. The vendors selling flowers and sweets in the temple arena became arrogant and talks rudely(don't know why specially the one sitting in Vendor No. 1). Happy Visit!
