This will be our new breakfast spot. Popped in this morning and they were busy but we were eating within 20 minutes. Best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and my wife raved about her omelette. The place has a cool retro vibe and the owner who does all the cooking took time to chat with us. We will be back soon.

This place is amazing! Since the beginning the customer service is great. The breakfasts are tasty and the prices are worth it. If you pass by Barrie I would highly recommend to stop by.

It is a dirty, poorly maintained dump. Health department should visit. NOT recommended. Edit after owner’s “funny” replies. I have seen the kitchen and the rest of the “restaurant”. Just look at the exterior, literally falling down and hasn’t seen paint in at least twenty years. The grease covers the exterior vents and drips down the walls. Think about what you might eat there. So many other better options in Barrie.

This is my favorite breakfast place in barrie. And the food is sooooooo good. This is home to my favorite breakfast sandwich. Pemeal sandwich on the brioche bun with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Chef kiss delish. Always feel welcomed and homey when im here. Even delicious when ordered over uber or skip

I love this place! A real throw back to old school diners. I've been there the last two Fridays for a breakfast meeting with friends and decided that this is our new spot. We love the atmosphere, the friendly banter with our server Chrissy, the service and of course the food. The food is fresh and plentiful. I can always tell by the potatoes and the fried mash here is perfect and fresh. Last week I had the Toasted Western with cheese and this week I had the Midway Breakfast. I highly recommend both.

In all fairness, I only tried one dish, which was a cheese omelet. I was not fond of the fried mash, too salty. The omelet was served with a very small piece of cantaloupe, I would have liked to see a more substantial piece of fruit. The rye toast was saturated with butter, making it soggy. The omelet itself was okay. The coffee was rather stale. The atmosphere was retro nostalgic, very cool!. The staff was friendly. I would give this place another try.

Nice little diner close to the Barrie waterfront. Nice and cosy with a very retro feel. Servers were super nice and friendly. Had the Diablo Benedict with fried mash (fried mashed potato with a bit of onion that’s crispy to be like a hash brown). Kids had a breakfast poutine which they liked. Would definitely come back if we are in the area.

The Midway Diner is a cash-only, straightforward all-day breakfast restaurant with a very retro atmosphere. The friendly waitress provided excellent service. We ordered the country breakfast with two eggs and sausage, and the BLT Sandwich. The food was delicious and well-seasoned. Overall, the Midway Diner is a great spot for a tasty, classic breakfast experience. Do note, they do have an ATM on-site if you need. Also, offer 6-7 parking spots on the side and are conveniently located with a bus stop just outside.
