Very outdated building and installations. In the room you get a sewer smell in the bathroom. Food is mediocre and cold and restaurants/buffets are too small for the hotel's capacity. Fresh water is made of powder/artificial flavor rather than fresh fruit. Very loud in the rooms from the parties at night and in the morning from the buffet.

This hotel was ok. Unfortunately unlike other inclusive hotels I have been to this hotel had a line for everything. It took us about 1 hour to check in and another 1 hour to check out. The food ended up making my entire family sick which ruined our trip. We had some staff that was great and others that were not. If you are looking for a place we’re you can really relax without having to make lines to eat - watch the shows - check out and check in this is not the spot. I don’t think I would come back to this hotel.

Enjoyed the beach and pool. Unfortunately, the adult pool is too close to the kids pool. This resort really isn't for Americans. Buffets for breakfast and lunch are not good. The Ala cart dinners are good. However you have to wait in line daily to make a reservation . I definitely would not recommend this resort. Way too many kids!

Honestly it’s a nice vintage cottage pretty hotel but there some things that this hotel needs to take care of..there some stains on the pillow when we first arrived and I found a piece of hair in my breakfast which I did not expect 😬 it’s hot in the hotel (obviously) there a pool and a beach which was pretty but honestly I like this hotel but will not like to visit this hotel again.First of all the photos look nothing like in reality o my gosh like I just got.. clickbait? the food is great (not a lot of food btw ) overall I do not recommend going here just watched out :)

The rooms are quite dated. We had an issue with our patio lock that was never resolved. It was unable to lock due to being broken. The service from the staff was just ok. Jesus, our server at the seafood restaurant was top notch, but you could tell that most staff did not enjoy their positions with the company. The location was nice. It had a nice view of the beach, but our room was a "mountain view," but all we saw was the ground floor roof top and HVAC units. The resort was smaller than other resorts that we visited, making it feel more cozy, but there was not much to do at night other than the live show, the one bar or sleep; no food available after buffet closed in the evening. The food was an issue at dinner time every night at the buffet as it was served at room temperature to darn right cold. I wasted several plates during my last dinner due to fear of food poisoning as i was afraid to eat it. The "hot, fresh refill food" they brought food out from the kitchen at room temperature, this was very distressing. Breakfast service was much better as the food was hot. Overall, due to how beautiful it was. It gets a 3, but I will not come back unless the price is way below what we paid.

Terrible hotel for outsider. The employees don't speak english at all. There is no mexican food except the friday. You will eat bad replica of international food all week long. My friend got married at this hotel and his experience was unacceptable. The hotel charged every service they offer even if he didn't want them, they change price during the marriage for some beverage and the manager was really unpleasant at the wedding. The manager was even kicked out by the married the night of the marriage because he was rude and never smiled once. Many other things happened that week with the hotel and they don't care. They just want your money. Do not go to this hotel if you live outside Mexico.

This resort is located on the southeast end of the Palmar beach. The ocean view rooms offer a spectacular sunset views. The food is good. They have two restaurants that offer buffet throughout the day as well as drink service. The rooms furniture is a little dated. Service is excellent.

The staff we had always went above and beyond to make our stay great!! The bar staff at the pool were fun and helpful! Big shout out to Alejandro, Victor, Hugo, Carlos Cruz! The show was incredible each night with awesome dancers and good fun. The food was good- very typical for a resort but I found the variety to be pretty great!! Would definitely go back. It was relaxing and clean.

For all that people coming to Mexico 🇲🇽 yes Mexico, from foreign countries, and complaining about workers not knowing English. I will remind you that in Mexico, the language here is Spanish, if you get upset about Mexican people not speaking good English, I strongly suggest you to learn Spanish 😝🤭😎👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Oct 2023 9th floor with perfect ocean view and long wide beach. Waves are swimable. Room door has Card lock but doesn't work every time. Must use hotel app on phone for activity times and map of grounds, which is reliant on inconsistent wifi and size of screen. Everyone's friendly and wants to help. Buffet food is very good.

This place is very nice. The staff is very admirable and caring. The food is very food and diverse. The rooms are clean and spacious. The whole place is very pretty and aesthetically pleasing. There is a show at night and it is very entertaining.

Had an excellent experience with the activity directors. Enjoyed the stretching and the Zumba class with Rosita. Long lines at all buffets but the food is okay. Also great service at the spa very attentive and accommodating.

Had a great time, staff was awesome, spa staff amazing, staff Daniel Pacheco ,Rolando Rodriguez Yurixi Garcia, the Dance staff for the show was great!! The food is good and the drinks amazing and the beach very good

Great stay, entertainment was great, shows every night in the plaza, 3 places to eat through out the day. Beach walking distance, staff friendly, Beautiful location.

Ixtapa was absolutely beautiful and the staff at the resort are very polite. However I will say the food wasn’t good and cause me and my fiancé to get sick. In kyoto the sushi restaurant the room was so humid that it smelled like fish rotting, as well as the cream cheese in the roll I had was warm. Then in caraol the sea food restaurant the fish was very over cooked and rubbery (I had the squid calamari). Lastly, la fontana my shrimp was very over cooked again and the pasta I had wasn’t completely cooked at the bottom of the plate. I’m not one to complain I swear I didn’t even send my food back, but I don’t want others getting sick from the food too. The room was beautiful and the ocean view and sound of waves is amazing. I do think it’s quite odd though how they make you use one of your cards for electricity.

We went on vacations for a hike week, and everything was perfect, all the activities that they do for our child’s, and also for the old people… We have a lot of fun and also we enjoy all the food at the restaurants that the have, was delicious

A perfect place for a getaway. Staff is very attentive and very nice. Our kids were treated very well this vacation. And the shows at night are fantastic!

Was nice until i tripped on a speaker stand at pool. Had cut knee, sprained wrist, fractured ribs and bad bruises. The next day the speaker stand was moved to a safe place but management was not going to admit liability. I expected some form of compensation as i was unable to swim, play tennis or bike ride for the next 6 days of my stay. All i received were 8 chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling wine. Not even an apology. Trying to get a lounge chair almost impossible. People would put towels out the night before or early in the morning. Ridiculous way to run a resort especially if you pay premium prices. The location is nice. .. .

Daniela Anzo was amazing during our stay she helped keep our kids busy while we waited for our ride. The staff was great at accommodating all our needs which is why we keep coming back after 17 years.

We stayed in a suit on 12th floor which had the best view of the ocean. Food was good and pool was very clean. All employees at this location are friendly and make you feel at home. Alfredo who works in the Premium Lounge offered great service. Claudia in the Premium lounge was able to get us a room upgrade to the 12th floor. Carlos who works on the swim up pool bar provided excellent service.and made great drinks as well. Cant say enough good things about the service.

The best part was the activities especially the Zumba class with Yuri and the bike tour! One aspect that needs improvement is the place where the nightly show takes place it needs air conditioning.

Barcelo staff made our vacation memorable. They honestly went above and beyond to satisfy our needs. The animation team has a fantastic daily agenda full of fun, creative ways to make the visitors have a wonderful time. All you have to do is participate and it’s a great time guaranteed. We had the chance to meet “Toti”. He is one of the managers that made sure my family and I had a marvelous time. In rewards to the food; they offer delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our waiter Alfredo helped us communicate with the chef about cooking a fish my husband caught early in the morning. The style of presentation Alfredo recommended was flavorful. There no reason why you need to keep looking. Barcelo offers everything we all look for when it comes to creating memories with our family.

Good night shows. Nice weather. Nice resort. Wish restaurant's always had an option for 24 hour as I have to eat small meals several times per day and small amounts at a time due to a surgical procedure. Also wish at checkin was told about event board/screen for times etc. One more is to have a possible map to hand out to customers.of all the areas when checking in would be great to have. We learned everything along the way by asking but had a lot of questions. But great resort.

Really great vacation spot! Great service and staff! The all inclusive package is great and really worth the price! Food can be a bit better but i would say it good not super good!

Barcelo hotel has variable food for breakfast and dinner loved the food and drinks provided. The staff was very welcoming and friendly with us also! The rooms were comfortable along with the scenery. Theoceanview outside my balcony was amazing staying here in Barcelo! Rosita and David where really friendly and very knowledgeable whit the attractions around the hotel the colores del mundo it was fantastic and amazing they even brought a small cake for my nice the next day for her they make her feel real special Thanks you Rosita I David definitely we are canning back to Barcelo

Glass had stains of lipstick and at least 3 times were handed to us dirty and from different restaurants in the hotel. I really doubt the hygiene of the silverware, glasses, etc. Other than that its a good hotel, just the service need to improve.

Great time. Friendly professional staff. Upgrade to Premium, it is well worth the cost. The food in Premium could be better, but overall was a very good value for an all inclusive resort. Will be going back.

Place was great, nice location, staff, etc, though the food choices were not as abundant as the Barcelo in Mexico City.

There are many things to like about the Barcelo. The location is fabulous, the weather near perfect every day and the facility is well kept. However the many positives are overshadowed by the obnoxious, loud and unpleasant pool atmosphere. In short, for much of the day you can’t find a quiet place on the beach or two pools to escape the screaming of the irritating guy with the microphone. I have noise cancelling headphones and it still is doesn’t help. In the evening there is a piano player in the lobby bar playing pleasant popular and classical music. Instead of being able to enjoy it there are 2 TV’s blaring; one a wrestling match and the other a a football match on the other. I asked two different people if the TV’s might at least turned down… I got a nod and nothing. Totally ruined the atmosphere I believe there is a place for loud and obnoxious elements to a resort of this size resort, but if you enjoy a little peace and quiet you better find another place. My advice to the Barcelo is get rid of the pool crew or at least restrict the volume in the bar pool and limit the time they are given.

Barceló was a wonderful experience with a very nice beach, cozy rooms, good good and plenty of entertainment for the whole family! I'd like to recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away from it all and be able to speak English or Spanish to communicate all your needs!

Everything good the food is super good the sheets or nice and clean with the Barth room the pools are really clean the beach is serviced nice with the life Guard room service has been really good must come here.

Where to start…. The resort is ok (room, pools). However, the staff barely speak english so it’s really hard to get what you want when you order food, beverage or stuff for your room. We were there because our friends were getting married there. They were charged extra for everything so their wedding cost the double of what they were told at the begginning. They tried to make us pay for something that was already broken when we arrived and we ended up paying it cause they threatnen to kick us out of the resort. At the wedding we wanted to order 4 champagne bottles (they were 2100 pesos as listed on the menu) and 10min after we ordered them, the waitress came back with a new sheet saying that the bottles were now 2900 pesos… we argued with them saying that on the menu it was 2100 and not 2900 ans that we bought one this morning at 2100 pesos…. But they didnt want to listen. Finally, the food there is ok but not what you expect from Mexico…. It was mostly bad american food amd very little mexicain food. One night we wanted to reserve at one of their restaurants and the only one left was the japanese one. The sushis (not that i expected much of them) were awful they all had the same ingredients even though they weren’t supposed to be the same. The waitress was sitting at the opposite side of the room look at us and was talking with the other members of the staff chilling in their corner. She didnt served us until one of us got angry and decided to get up and grab alcohol by himself. To finish, the bride arrived 10minutes late at the restaurant and they didnt want to let her in…. My advice dont ever go there it’s definetly not a 5 stars resort.
