Lovely reserve. Small visitor centre and nearby toilets and shops with cafe (where you can get a discount with RSPB card). Check woods over road across from visitor centre for Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers. Do ask staff on best locations to see birds. Reserve has 2 parts, long straight walk past Heron tree and Rookery. Loads of close up song birds are especially good for young children. After about 15 minutes you cross the bridge to a wall of noise from nesting Black Headed Gulls on the scrapes. There is a hide and look out points. Hopefully you will hear the booming Bittern and countless Warblers. A full walk around the reserve will take a couple of hours. You will need refreshments and good bladder. Well worth it though.

Great variety of habitats and birds to see. The path through the woods is not wheelchair accessible, but the most other areas are. I do think the woodland area could do with an updated hard/flat path with suitable drainage (or even a boardwalk), considering that the only way to the other areas in via the woodland (-1 star for limited accessibility) There is a little shop near the car park. The person working there on Sun 11 July 23 was fantastic.

Middleton lakes is a great place to visit for a few hours. There are plenty of walks to take. It's a brilliant place for children to be children and get dirty and have fun. There is a forest area to build dens and benches dotted all about. When we visited there was wild garlic growing everywhere. There is a cafe and toilets at Middleton hall you can use too.

Really enjoyed RSPB Middleton Lakes. Takes around 3 hours to walk round if you take your time and stop at different places. Some really lovely trails encompassing many different habitats, from River to Woodlands and of course a very large wetland area. Not forgetting the meadow at the end. Really nice variety of Wildlife to see, personally nice to see the Nuthatch and Dunnock. Unfortunately didn't see the Barn Owl I'm the meadow. Trails are nice and easy to do not too muddy either with the exception of the meadow trail which has some very small muddy bits. All in all a great place to have a walk and see some wildlife!

A great place for all the family, lots of different walks to do or just find a bench and watch the nature. £3 for parking or join and then free.

This place has easy access parking from the Aston Villa Training centre access and when the gates are open from the house drive way, there are toilets, cafe and easy walking paths for disabled and wheel chair users, if your a little more adventurous the paths can take you all around the valley if you don't mind canal, town, wooded hillside and lake side walking. It's a restful place just to sit and listen to the birds, great bird watching with lots of duck, geese and water birds as well as rarer varieties like the Corn Crake or if you haven't got the itch to twitch just. stare into space! Something for all ages with exploration in the woods, bird feeders and great views.

Great place for a walk out and to listen nature. Perfect with a packed lunch. Plenty of places to sit and rest or take in the views. We spent a couple of hours and didn’t make it half way round. Kids were enjoying it. Visited over half term and was very quiet. I’d expected to see lots of families but sadly this wasn’t the case. Lots of walkers and bird watchers which was nice to see. Will be back with the lunch bag next time!

This is a hidden gem. First visit in winter which was amazing. I can only imagine how good it would be in the summer. Great place to walk and get away from it all. Car park is £4 for non rspb members. Would recommend for a place to walk.

Lovely place to see a wide variety of different birds, set in a beautiful surrounding and lakes. Lots of walking routes would advise good shoes for some of the walks. There is also a small visitors building with lovely staff and a cafe not far from the car park for retirements. Would recommend visit just to get away from things and relax.

We love going here! Quiet and peaceful area to walk and observe nature. Yesterday we attended a fungus foray by Wild Beverley which we found to be informative and fun. We enjoy that events like these are offered here. Volunteers have always been nice and helpful. Parking is available, picnic tables, and a small shop where you can purchase drinks. There are no toilets on site but there are toilets at MIddleton Hall Courtyard along with a few shops which is within walking distance. You can also purchase RSPB memberships on site!

A little piece of tranquility and beauty. We only found this place recently, and it's so relaxing and peaceful. Plenty of varied wildlife to see if you have the patience and willing to slow your pace.

Beautiful walks around the lakes and helpful volunteers to give information on any sightings of unusual species. Also the Hall courtyard is a nice piece of history worth a visit. We have been on return visits a number of times.

Great find for long strolls. We've seen plenty of birds ranging from ducks, swans to herons and pheasants, along with wild horses. Canal stroll is also quite beautiful.
