Soul Night at the Owl πŸ₯°πŸ¦‰ We arrived at 12.30am and were amazed at the warm welcome we received from the delightful staff at front of house. This is a niche club, with an indie vibe and it's very bijoux. Everyone was interacting with each other like old friends and some were dressed up exactly how it would have been in the 60s, it was absolutely beautiful to witness and be part of a magical night. We'd definitely go back to another Soul night here, the atmosphere is perfect, it's like dancing in a friends' large living room! Some people kept coming up to us as they thought we'd just got married, which amused my boyfriend no end lol We just love dressing up πŸ˜πŸ˜‡πŸ₯° It doesn't matter how young, how old, what you look like... just bring your best dance moves, you loinge lizards and your best behaviour - this Club is for everyone and this is the platinum standard for a night out, a club not to be missed !

Just tried to get in here and the indian/Sikh bouncer knocked back my friend who is gay, and was being his camp self. He didn't let our group in and pushed our friend back using force. He's obviously got a complex about homosexuals and needs to get himself checked out. Please consider this before attempting go in. The bouncer looks like the magician 'Domino' so should be easy to find him. Please act straight if you're a gay man trying to visit this bar

A great compact venue, though Wrap up well if heading there in Winter as a fair bit of the venue is situated outside. The stage has 2 huge TV screens behind it which show clips from many top programmes of the 60s. The venue specialises in retro acts from a bygone era. Bar prices are like most music venues slightly overpriced. On the whole a good sound & feel about the place you dig, I dug.

A good live music and DJ venue with friendly hosts and staff. The venue mainly specialises in Northern Soul music and Sixties pop culture.

Went to the Ska brunch with free drinks for the first hour and a burger with coleslaw and corn on the cob all for Β£22. Good atmosphere, great music and service. Would definitely go to another one!

The night owl. Great music. Friendly staff. Good choice of drinks. Safe. What more can I say? Best club in Birmingham ? Very likely. Long may it continue.

Very disappointed, 14 tickets bought , band sounds great but unfortunately we can't get in the pub as there are too many people in there , currently stood outside freezing. 35 minutes to get a drink , clearly ticket sales more important than enjoyment .

Small personal venue, friendly with a good selection of drinks and fantastic performers in a semi open space. This is Rosalie Cunningham

Never been here before today's All-Dayer Festival. A fantastic set up. It's small but atmospheric, decent priced beer, friendly staff. The atmosphere was great and the music festival well organised. Very impressed.😎

Watched a ska band who were great. The mature crowd (and I am mature) created a great atmosphere.

It was my first time going to the Night Owl to see my favourite band The SKA 45's perform. Although the venue was not very big inside the atmosphere was brilliant. Will definitely go there again.

Great venue in the heart of Digbeth Birmingham. Soul based music is always a winner and used recently for the jazz festival. Small venue but perfect if you are looking for something a bit different

Absolutely love this place, staff are super cool, music, bands and events are well planned and executed. Bar and toilets are always clean and it has a great clientele.

Just a simple pub with some music but charging for entrance Β£6 πŸ™„ Definitely wasn't impressed. There was one good thing though: mojito they make is beautiful.

Brilliant bands on and a nice vibe in there, drinks though are ridiculously expensive between Β£5.20-Β£5.50 for a lager is far too much, it’s not even served in any branded glasses. Would recommend visiting for the music alone.

Great venue for live music - been a few times now and been excellent each times. Bootleg Beatles, Jimi Hendrix tribute - all very good

Went Saturday 7th to see ska 45s first timer a bit smaller than expected but nevertheless great atmosphere friendly staff including security team great sound even if outside. A bit of food for thought regarding live music venues the average person spends Β£11 before the event and after on things like taxis food drinks live music does so much more for the local economy than you realise

I love the Night Owl. It is exactly what it says on their wall. "Nice People dancing to great soul music" I have been back to "Dig" on Saturday night and it didn't dissapoint. A really eclectic group of people of all ages just getting down to some brillant DJs.

Ok, owner is a little OTT and walks around like she Is the queen and openly shouts that she knows how to buy friendship with free drinks, best part about this place is the bar staff. The bar staff are amazingly friendly and helpful

Hard to find! This small venue has good staff and is great fun but the live music doesn't allow anywhere to talk. I'd also like food!

Great little independent venue. Atmosphere was brilliant, until the Johnny Come Lately crowd turned up around 11pm. Would definitely return though.

Fab little bar/club with great tunes and cool bands. Slightly limited beer selection on tap. Sound system is good but not outstanding. Stylish visuals. Friendly staff. Mixed age crowd. Northern Soul and Funk music. Recommended
