Parking just across the road in Brindley Place the hall was easy and safe to get in and out of. Inside the halls there is an amazing atrium with bars and toilets aplenty. Inside the Symphony Hall we had tickets right up top in the gods seating. The seating was high quality and very comfortable. Our view was perfect, looking down on the stage and the performance.

First visit to the Symphony Hall in Birmingham and very impressed with the whole complex. Once you get inside it is clean, new and very inviting. The inside of the venue is staggering with the height of the various tiers and the sound is fantastic. All in all a brilliant Music Venue for anyone attending a concert.

Excellent night and world class performance. The review if for the symphony hall, not the acts that perform here. The hall is easy to find and being close to Birmingham centre is surrounded with parking options. If you are commuting via train, Birmingham new street train station is a 5 minute walk away. It is also 100 yards away from the tram line, although never used this I do not know how the times marry up with start and finishes of the performances. The lobby is well decorated inside with modern dΓ©cor and was warm throughout. There are bars available on each floor serving a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as light snacks. There is enough seating to allow around a 1/3 of the capacity to sit before any performance. Toilets are located throughout and even when using during the interval the quantity of facilities meant the line was very quick moving with little delay at all. The main area is grand with ornate dΓ©cor and is well worth observing before or after the show. The seats were fairly comfortable and during the entire performance I never felt the need to adjust my position which is something I do regularly when attending the cinema. There was no where to put drinks down and the leg room was a little restrictive meaning holding any no sealable drinks until finished is the only option. The only reason I wouldn't give this venue 5 stars is because of 2 reasons. Although there is a bar on each level, the division of staffing isn't well thought out and so depending which bar you go to you may stand in line for the entire interval in order to reach the front. It was raining lightly when we attended and during quieter parts of the performance the rain could be heard through the ceiling. This could perhaps use a thicker/denser soundproofing.

The hall is now 31 years old and I have never previously attended. We went to see James Morrison and his two support acts Casey Mquillan and Newt Faulkner were both really good which made an enjoyable night even better. The hall has been built with acoustics in mind so the sound was crystal clear. The staff were all very professional, the venue was immaculately clean and we are keen to return.

Great place, from the entrance areas with a bar as you walk in, through to all the seating while you're waiting for the show. Once in the hall there are staff everywhere to speak to or help you. I'd recommend being higher up for a quieter bar or toilet. Use the lift to get to a high floor to avoid a queue with a bar on every floor.

What am awesome experience this was, visiting the symphony Hall for my sons graduation. Absolutely stunning throughout At the beginning and end of the ceremony an ensemble played music to the audience. It was beautiful, they played Rocky theme tune acoustically which will stay with me forever. If you are attending an event don't use the toilets in the main ICC building, they were very busy and many broken despite having an attendant on duty. Instead when you have your tickets use the toilets in the symphony Hall when you have gone through the entrance gates. Thers are a couple of bars, one had a band playing..

What an amazing venue. The acoustics are fantastic. It's quite a small and intimate venue. The staff here are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble for them. I have been here twice and will not hesitate to visit again in the future.

Simply brilliant, stroll in grab a drink & settle down for the show. We went to see Russell Howard cross the ts and dot the... lower case js (sorry Russ). Anyway, without a shadow of a doubt, the Symphony Hall is a superb venue for music, stand-up, shows and more. Plus, the bar was really well staffed, so no waiting around for a decent tipple. Great stuff.

Great venue, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Queue for the bar moved very quickly so we could get our drinks and get seated smoothly. The show hall itself is gorgeous - ornately, beautiful and spacious. The acoustics were fantastic and despite having tickets quite far back, we still got a fantastic view of the stage The only downside I would say is that the particular show we went to encouraged the audience to stand up out of their seats and dance. Sadly, this meant that during some parts of the show myself & my disabled grandmother couldn't see anything (except the bum of the person in from of us!). I would recommend if visiting with anyone who uses a walking aide, to book disabled seats - we didn't think this was necessary as she has a walking stick and not a wheelchair but in hindsight we should have booked these seats. Except for that, the whole experience of my visit from start to finish was absolutely phenomenal! πŸ’―

Love the Symphony Hall, reminds me of an Ocean liner on the inside..saw Belinda Carlisle recently she rocked and looked beautiful. The venue has a capacity of circa 2,000 people and has great acoustics and views from most seats.. Go you won't be disappointed.

Another fantastic evening in Symphony Hall listening to the orchestra playing music from Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals . We had four amazing singers two currently on tour in South Pacific . The atmosphere before the show is always great with two floors of seating and two bars. The large windows give you fantastic views of the Centenary square . A free jazz concert on Friday evenings is quite usual before the main event. It's well worth a visit even if you haven't booked any tickets just to admire your surroundings and have a drink or some food in the cafe which is on ground level.

A great venue for all events. This time was to listen to live music by Scott Bradley's - Post Modern Jukebox. The venue is superbly equipped for these sorts of events and so quick to get to from the main Grand Central Station! The acoustics and lighting are superb. My only qualm is the limited number of toilets on the ground/first floor which means the break can mean it's a long wait.

Easy to access and park, the canal area was well lit and very picturesque.. Upper balcony of the Symphony Hall seating gave excellent views of the stage and the sound was excellent. Jules Holland and his orchestra were brilliant as usual. Only gripe was that the seats became uncomfortable after a short while.

Large but not too big. It got quite hot about 2 hours into the performance. Personally I would have preferred the sound a bit louder as I missed some of the words being spoken. We were sitting right at the top and found the gradient a bit too steep and little un-nerving whilst trying to walk past people to our seats.. . The backs of the seats in front were only came halfway up my shins making it easy to overbalance. Otherwise we got in quickly and were dealt with courteously. Leaving was smooth too.

Went to see the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra play Movie Magic and it was just that, magic. Had a great welcome from the moment we entered. Acoustics were great and the orchestra didn't miss a note. We had a great view and enjoyed every minute, even the music we weren't familiar with. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Absolutely abizmal, if you have seats on the side oh the tiers to see anything forget it , you cannot see the artist just the top of the lighting rigs, don’t waste your money I will never come here again ,worst venue ever. Australian pink floyd sound amazing but I can’t see any of then or the lighting effects

Unbelievably this was the first time I have stepped foot in the place since it opened(1991)! The gig was amazing (Robert Plant) and the sound was impeccable. Being up in the gods didn't do much for my fear of heights though! πŸ˜† Fantastic venue. I might come again! πŸ™‚

The staff at the symphony hall were great. Very cheerful and helpful. Despite being crowded and full with so many people the place is well ventilated. The surrounds to the Symphony hall itself too are great too.

A beautiful space within the International Conference Centre. The reception areas with bars outside the levels are nice and work well as buffer areas for people entering and leaving the hall. There are lifts and stairs so accessibility is good and there are toilets at each level and they are clean and well maintained The staff are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable if they have time to talk about the building and their work there. I didn't realise that the Hall houses an organ that was being played while people were taking their seats. It was a nice surprise, but I felt the choice of music didn't really demonstrate the full capability of the organ, but music is a very personal thing and this is only my view. Seating is comfortable for a couple of hours, but the hall was a little too warm for the duration of our visit and lots of people were using their programs as fans - wear layers so you can cool down if necessary. It's a beautiful well organised venue and I would be happy to return for concerts or other events.

My first time here. We went to see Holly Johnson, lead singer of Frankie goes to Hollywood. We stayed in a nearby hotel and it was less than a 10 minute walk there. We had great seats in the stalls, comfortable seats. Beautiful theatre! Bar and snacks available. Queue for the ladies toilets - isn't there always! 😁 We're going again next year.

Seating over 2000 it is an impressive theatre. At all points there is a good view of the stage. Great acoustics. I went to hear Lang Lang play and it was phenomenal! Good facilities (WC, bar etc)

Phenomenal venue, smart and well presented, well maintained despite being 30 years old. The sound in the hall is without question the finest in the UK. Seating is well laid out, roomy and comfortable. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. Bar prices were more than reasonable (fiver for 2 coffees? Β£11 for 2 Cokes and a beer? I'm looking at you, First Direct Arena Leeds). Have been to a number of events here since the early 90s and would say it's a favourite venue.

Fabulous rock night at "Rock the Opera". Fantastic gig. We would definitely go again. BBC Concert Orchestra played fabulous rock. Towards the end people all got up and danced. Not to be missed if you enjoy Rock.

This is an incredible concert venue. I've seen 3 concerts here in recent years and had seats near the front of the stalls and way back in the gods. The acoustics are incredible, the quality of sound always first class. Great facilities as well. First class venue.

Wonderful venue for concerts and gigs. Attended the "Lasted" tour, by James, complete with orchestra and gospel choir. The acoustics were amazing and the performance was excellent. Very friendly staff on hand to help you if needed.

Absolutely thrilled with tonight's Movie Magic performance by The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra @TheCBSO. Listening to these world renowned pieces of music from box office hits was spine tingling. The highlights for me was: Harry Potter, The Avengers, Jaws, Back to the Future, The Great Escape, Star Wars, Star Trek and many other fantastic pieces, bringing back emotions and memories of when I first watched these great films.

I had one of the most amazing experiences here meeting 6 of the Neighbors cast at the celebration tour. The show was incredible. The theater is beautiful and the staff were really helpful. There is a lot of recycling facilities right in the bar which we love to see. The whole night was very well orchestrated, hugely helped by the amazing tour manager but the venue staff must have worked very hard to pull everything together too. The security guy was very reassuring when I was late.

My wife and I went to see/hear Sophie Ellis Bexter, when we eventually found somewhere to park it was a short walk to the ICC which was a wonderful clean area with various shops and cafes, Sophie was wonderful and the acoustics were magnificent, she had everyone singing and dancing by the end of her show and we had a wonderful time (my birthday present from my wife) Sophie is a wonderful and beautiful singer and actually did a solo with a couple of violins in the stalls just near us, If you get the chance to see her go, she's fantastic live

I went to the Queen Symphonic which is the CBSO playing with a rock band, and singers from We Will Rock You. They played all the best Queen hits, and the sound was excellent. It was my first visit to the venue, and I’d happily go again.

The beautiful stunning Symphony hall is an absolute modern jewel in the city centre. Set within the International convention centre, it was opened by the Queen in the 80s. Modern staggered level seating throughout with incredible world class acoustics. Classical and modern music concerts can be enjoyed alike. Thoroughly recommend!

Great experience seeing Jamie Cullum on what might be (as he put it).."the last gig for some time!" My only complaint would be that it is not immediately obvious where the venue was. However, if you look for the The International Convention Centre, it is contained within this building.
