We
just
popped
in
for
a
drink
in
the
bar.
Bar
looks
quite
nice.
However,
the
'house
policy'
is
a
bit
skeezy.
The
liquor
on
the
menu
is
all
priced
for
single
shots,
as
you'd
expect.
I
ordered
a
whiskey.
When
the
bill
came,
my
whiskey
was
twice
the
listed
price.
The
waiter
told
us
that
it
is
'house
policy'
to
serve
doubles,
but
not
to
tell
patrons
about
this
policy.
If
you
told
people
when
they
ordered
that
the
drinks
came
as
doubles,
that
would
be
fine.
Alternatively,
if
the
prices
on
the
menu
were
for
doubles,
that
would
be
fine
too.
The
current
blatant
obfuscation
is
tacky,
though.
The
waiter
seemed
quite
flustered
and
informed
us
that
'he
was
just
doing
as
he
was
told.'
So
clearly,
he'd
been
told
to
mislead
customers.
Delightful.
My
wife
had
a
mocktail
which
she
quite
enjoyed.
It
was
relatively
expensive
though,
considering
that
it
was
basically
juice
with
a
massive
ice
cube
taking
up
most
of
the
space
in
the
glass.
That's
to
be
expected
in
a
lot
of
places
though,
sadly.
She
would
have
happily
paid
more
for
a
decent
sized
drink.
There
was
also
an
'optional'
service
charge
added
on
that
we
had
to
ask
the
waiter
to
remove.
I
despise
places
that
do
this.
If
it's
optional,
ask
before
you
add
it.
If
you
want
more
money,
increase
your
prices;
stop
with
all
this
service
charge
nonsense.
We
often
leave
a
tip
when
service
is
good,
but
never
when
a
service
charge
is
added
on
sneakily
like
this.
Overall,
the
drinks
were
fine,
but
the
policies
here
left
a
bad
taste
in
our
mouths.
We
definitely
won't
be
back.
Edit:
As
you
can
see
from
the
response
below,
they
don't
even
care
enough
to
get
my
name
correct,
or
to
leave
a
contact
email
or
number.
There
is
absolutely
no
way
I'll
be
wasting
my
time
contacting
these
twits
directly!
