We
took
my
wife
to
the
ER
here
about
a
month
ago,
the
only
saving
grace
for
this
facility
is
its
nursing
staff
seems
to
genuinely
care
and
shows
concern.
During
our
first
visit
the
on-call
provider
did
a
minimal
visual
exam,
deemed
it
non-life
threatening,
provided
her
pain
medication
and
some
at
home
treatment
methods
and
referred
us
to
contact
a
general
surgeon
to
resolve
the
issue
at
hand.
In
and
out
in
maybe
an
hour
total
from
the
time
we
walked
in.
Within
48
hours
we
were
back
in
the
ER
as
her
condition
was
worsening,
upon
the
nurse
team
attempting
to
get
her
vitals
they
become
overly
concerned
due
to
her
heart
rate
and
blood
pressure
reading
and
rushed
her
back
to
a
room.
The
on-call
provider
did
another
minimal
visual
exam
and
agreed
with
the
findings
of
the
first
provider.
However,
when
we
brought
up
additional
symptoms
that
wouldn't
normally
be
found
with
this
diagnosis,
we
were
met
with
a
response
of
"hmm
that
is
odd",
and
nothing
more.
This
provider
had
the
nurse
administer
pain
medication,
however
no
one
bothered
to
do
a
reaction
check
on
her
and
we
waited
in
the
trauma
room
for
almost
3
hours
without
anyone
checking
on
her.
It
was
only
when
I
pressed
the
nurse
call
button
that
someone
finally
returned.
This
visit
ended
up
taking
almost
5
hours
total,
outside
of
the
orally
administered
pain
medications
this
provider
did
nothing
and
spent
less
than
approximately
5
min
total
with
her
before
having
a
different
nurse
discharge
her
still
with
an
elevated
heartrate.
Thankfully
we
were
able
to
make
an
appointment
for
a
few
days
later
with
a
specialist
with
Lakeland
Regional
health
group,
they
took
one
look
at
her
and
said
the
original
diagnosis
was
completely
wrong
and
to
rush
her
to
the
Lakeland
Regional
Hospital.
Once
there
they
confirmed
because
the
condition
had
gone
untreated
for
so
long,
she
was
in
sepsis,
and
had
an
extremely
elevated
heart
rate,
upon
drawing
blood
they
also
found
she
had
severely
high
white
blood
cell
count.
All
of
this
resulted
in
her
needing
emergency
surgery
to
resolve
and
spending
multiple
days
in
the
hospital,
it
was
shared
with
us
post-surgery
had
this
gone
untreated
much
longer
the
infection
in
question
would
have
reached
a
point
it
would
have
been
fatal.
Unless
we
are
in
a
dire
life
or
death
scenario
in
the
future,
we
will
not
be
returning
to
this
facility
or
ever
conduct
business
with
BayCare
in
the
future.
