Caridian BJJ is by far the best BJJ academy/lifestyle change in Tampa. Alan and his team of coaches are amazing, extremely knowledgeable, and patient. Both of my sons and myself attend this academy and could not be happier. My kids confidence and skills since joining are incredible. We have only been attending for about 3 months but the journey has been amazing and we could not ask for more. I definitely recommend Caridian BJJ to anyone looking into any martial arts or if you are just looking to start a journey full of health/mental benefits while making lifelong friends.

I really liked the BJJ gym I first started training in so had high expectations when I moved and was looking for a new gym. I tried a few gyms that were ok but didn’t have the right vibe, that is until I walked into Caridian BJJ. Everyone here made me feel welcome and a part of the family right from the start. Alan is a great instructor who has an obvious passion for the sport and teaching it to others. He cares about his students and their growth and does a great job of demonstrating and explaining techniques in a way that is easy to replicate. In addition, many of the higher belts are more than happy to help out when you’re learning new training techniques. If you’re looking for a gym with an environment in which everyone is there to support you and help you grow, as well as challenge you, this is the place to be.

Alan is an insanely kind and patient instructor who welcomed me with open arms in to his gym with zero jiu jitsu experience. He breaks down jiu jitsu technique in an easy to understand way, no matter what kind of learner you are, you will get it if I can. Everyone in the gym is insanely helpful and kind. Truly a home away from home, great family atmosphere. My whole family attends classes at Caridian and we look forward to every class. Jiu jitsu is an amazing workout and very practical self defense that I could put to use if I ever needed to.

Amazing BJJ community - especially for women! I joined Caridian in July and I am hooked! Everyone from Alan on down is fun and encouraging (which is great for someone like me who is not particularly athletic and for whom these techniques don't come naturally). Every class I come to, no matter the size, I feel respected, learn something and get a nice amount of personalized instruction. And, the facility is immaculately clean (I'm something of a clean freak, so this matters a lot to me - no B.O. or standard gym stank here). I have definitely felt all the benefits i came for - learning self-defense, getting stronger and having a good time, all surrounded by amazing people. By the way, this isn't the first BJJ place I've tried - the other places had a "cult" vibe that I wasn't interested in. This is a gym/community with all the things you want without the extra baggage you don't want. Come on by - you'll have a great time :-).

I’ve trained Jiu Jitsu for 12 years and the atmosphere, talent, and coaching at Caridian is top notch. Alan is an excellent owner and practitioner and he really goes out of his way to support his students. The other coaches Ben, Joe, and Chad are equally talented and professional. The gym is female and family friendly, and also provides competition classes and with adult and children competing at local and national tournament venues. I highly recommend Caridian jiu-jitsu and I would recommend this academy to friends or family.

Caridian BJJ is more than just a BJJ gym it’s a home and are treated like part of the giant lovable family immediately! Though I just started and life has stopped me from training for a minute I know I am always welcome with open arms! Alan is the most sincere teachers I have ever met and truly cares about each and every one of his students! His end of class picture warms my heart as a memorabilia of what you’ve learned, who you learned it with and the progression of success that you see in yourself! Great family to get into. Everyone there are the nicest and helpful people you'll ever meet. Everyone has their own rolling style which makes it a great learning tool for different situations. I've been to a lot of gyms and academies since beginning martial arts age 5 and this is my all time favorite. Alan brings a great vibe and great instruction. All levels are welcome and everyone is treated like a member of the team no matter skill level, size, etc. PERFECT!

It's a good sign when kids don't want to leave class. They are taught resptect, self-discipline, team work, sportsmanship and so many character qualities that are waning in our society today. The gym loves its military and first responder families!

This place is absolute quality. Professor Alan teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with passion, attention and excitement. Everyone is very welcoming and respectful. The class flows quite well with the professor going around giving insight about the techniques, which helps you improve a lot on the long run. I could not recommend this place more if you are looking for good training.
