Unlike many other ports in the Caribbean where you must walk endless choppy sidewalks or pay high prices to cabbies or pick ā€˜em up touristic trucks just to get into town, Basseterre Is instantly accessible with not even a 5 min walk from the pier. Your ship essentially parks in downtown. Yay Boy for that! Fear not and walk right into it.

Great cruise port and very accessible from the ship. Good shops with a variety of goods to buy and a couple of food outlets. You can organise water taxis and normal cabs within the main building. There was a busy smoothie shop which I didn't try but I will next time!

Touristic shops that are familiar to many of the Western and Eastern Indies ports of call for the cruise ships. A new pier was created just to the north of Port Zante which poses a longer walk to the port, however is well constructed.

Nice shops, shop around for a discount prices vary from location to location. Careful of the monkey guys, They will hand you a monkey and then ask for payment unexpectedly.

Saint Kitts, officially known asĀ Saint Christopher, is a captivating island nestled in the West Indies. Its western coast borders theĀ Caribbean Sea, while the eastern side faces theĀ Atlantic Ocean. Together with its neighboring island,Ā Nevis, Saint Kitts forms theĀ Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. These islands are separated by a shallow channel called ā€œThe Narrows.ā€ Hereā€™s what makes Saint Kitts special: Historical Significance: Saint Kitts was home to the firstĀ Caribbean British and French coloniesĀ in the mid-1620s. Alongside Nevis, it was part of theĀ British West IndiesĀ until gaining independence in 1983. The islandā€™s rich history is intertwined with the birth of the modern factory system. Geographical Beauty: Saint Kitts spans approximatelyĀ 168 square kilometersĀ and is aboutĀ 29 kilometers long. Its lush landscapes include volcanic peaks, rolling hills, and pristine beaches. TheĀ Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as the largest fortress ever built in the Eastern Caribbean. Sports and Education: Saint Kitts hosts theĀ Warner Park Cricket Stadium, which hosted 2007 Cricket World Cup matches, making it the smallest nation to ever host this event. The island is also home to institutions like theĀ Ross University School of Veterinary MedicineĀ and theĀ University of Medicine and Health Sciences. Basseterre: The capital of Saint Kitts,Ā Basseterre, serves as the largest port. It welcomes large cruise ships, offering a modern facility for visitors. A ring road encircles the island, while its steep interior remains uninhabited. Kittitian Charm: The majority of Saint Kittsā€™ population is ofĀ African descent, and English is the primary language. Residents proudly call themselvesĀ Kittitians. Whether youā€™re exploring historical sites, enjoying water sports, or simply basking in the Caribbean sun, Saint Kitts promises an unforgettable experience. šŸŒ“šŸ°šŸŒŠ

People aren't "as" pushy at this port as some others. However, beware of the people with the monkeys šŸ’ (yep, you read that right!). They basically throw these adorable monkeys at you and then demand $10 per person for taking pictures. Note: their currency is MUCH less than the American dollar. If you give them a $10 bill, you've given them close to $25.

Full of Duty Free shops, jewelry stores, and souvenir vendors. It was very crowded due to the ā€œlast lapā€ celebration to end the holiday season. We did buy some items!

Nice development on the cruise port and the strip mall. It feels safer, especially not being harassed by street performers or monkey pet owners who chased tourists for high tips for just taking a snap shot of the site or performance, like it used to a few years ago. But bathrooms are available for a dollar each use. They take the money first before they let you use it, though the bathrooms are clean but ain't that modernised. Some stalls didn't even havr locks on it. That is quite expensive, where every other cruiseship offer their clean bathrooms for free.

Vibrant place with lots of shops in the near area of the port. At the time we visited Saint Kitts it was Carnival season and there was a big parade with costumed dancers.

O porto em si se resume a local para comprar objetos diversos e fazer um lanche... o fato de nĆ£o ter Wi-Fi grĆ”tis jĆ” demonstra que os preƧos sĆ£o salgados como a Ć”gua do mar!

Good cruise port. Safe port. Lots of local tours available without any crime on tourists. Lots of jewelry stores (of course!!) and a few t-shirt, magnets, alcohol, and other tourist goodies. Easy to get a local tour at this port. St Kitts is one of the safest islands in the Caribbean.

Porto with many shops, very busy and very close to the city center, which allows you to see a little of Basseterre. It is also easy to book tours to the beaches with local vendors.

Port Zante is a fantastic port area located in the lively city of Basseterre. The charming promenade is surrounded by colorful stores, cafes and local restaurants, making it a must-visit destination. By the way the worldā€˜s largest cruise ship the Icon of the Seas arrived at the same time!

really nice area, although stay clear of the people with the monkeys, they give you a monkey and you have to pay for a photo, but it is really nice to just hold the monkey. they also have an eastern caribbean currency thats worth almost three times less than the us dollar.

The port is in the process of being reconstructed, but it still very much felt alive (full spirited) and accessible. A lot of shops and restaurants.

We LOVED St Kitts! Take the excursion to NEVIS! Make sure you have SMOOTHIE as your tour guy! He is entertaining! He sings! He knows everything about the Island! Also if you are an Alexander Hamilton fan, you can see the home he was born in and lived in until he moved to St Croix at 9 years old.

Beautiful terminal! I really enjoyed it when disembarking from the cruise! A lot of shops, everything was well organized and the locals were really nice! I canā€™t wait to come back to St. Kitts again!

Excellent shopping. Do not, however, fall prey to the cruel street hawkers who have animals with them for the purposes of tourist photographs. Its a cruel practice and animal welfare doesn't feature at all here.

Not my favorite cruise port by any means. Very much of a cluster when thereā€™s a couple or more ships docked. Tons of people and lots of people just jam packed in various lines waiting for whatever excision they are going on. Pretty standard duty free shop areas and a bar or two. I thought the port felt sort of rundown and dirty. We didnā€™t enjoy walking around and we ventured out a bit and it got a little seedy so we turned back. Iā€™d recommend probably just going right to your line and moving on.

There is no beautiful scenery on the whole island, and there are no beautiful beaches. The worst feeling in the entire Caribbean island. An island not recommended.
