Very disappointing museum. Limited creativity in the displays and extremely bad lighting. You get the feeling that someone had a few memorabilia, and felt the need to display them, rather than creating a space that inspires and entertains the visitor. Once you have entered the Foyer you have seen some of the most interesting things. Not worth spending the money to see the rest.

It has some amazing sporting equipment, donated by various famous athletes. I really loved that Para-sport is also included. Interactive part was fun.

The history of the Olympic Games, sports people play today and what's going on in the world of sports - it covers a lot, but I found it a bit broad and thin. Interesting floor plan with interactive sports equipments. Just next to the Chocolate Museum, so it's great to visit as family. Only €3 for students!

If you're into sports, specifically sports history and interesting facts about some aspects of it then this museum is definitely for you. If you aren't that kind of person though, it's honestly a little on the boring side of things as there is not a whole lot to do. Also, the prices for food and especially drinks in the lobby are completely absurd. 2,50€ for a 0,2L Coca Cola.

Honestly, we didn't expect this museum to be very good or interesting. We only went because it was raining, but we spent more than two hours here Our children really enjoyed trying the football activity, table tennis, the gymnastics horse and beam, the balancing balls, racing bike...there were SO many fun things to try out. The museum website really should show more photos of these enjoyable, interactive things to encourage visitors to come. It wasn't very clear from the website. For adults, there is a lot of information in German and English about the history of the Olympic Games. The main downside is that the café isn't really a café! Don't expect to get anything fresh to eat here, certainly. There are vending machines, though.

(Translated by Google) Interesting exhibition, which ranges from ancient sports to modern. For example, you can see how sports shoes have evolved over time and have become lighter and more powerful. Unfortunately everything looks a bit dusty. A timely update of some presentations would do the museum good. Leider wirkt alles etwas angestaubt. Very interesting museum, plenty of facts and history about sports and the Olympics. I really enjoyed my visit and how interactive it was - you can ride a bike, run on tracks, practice gymnastics etc. +1 for the denunciation of world cup in Qatar and the losses. It's a very powerful and touching exhibition

Interesting museum, was nice that it included English on the pieces. Nice interactive parts too with a boxing ring, bicycle in a wind tunnel etc. Unable to make use of the football pitch upstairs but not to worry. Also nice surprise with Michael Schumacher's old car and overalls!

The museum is decent, that I can't complain. The receptionist could've been nicer she wasn't very inviting at all, and that 1st interaction is everything for me. It's one of the things I hold against people and establishments. Moving forward the museum is worth seeing, has some pretty unique things inside and a few interactive displays. Would I go back? Yeah I'd revisit, maybe I'll get a different receptionist.

The decision for a German "Sport Museum" dates back to an agreement of the German Sports Association and the German National Olympic Committee in 1978. It took until 1996 to take this to fruition. The German Sport & Olympia Museum not only conveys sports-historical, but also political, socio-critical and historical-historical connections. It has been well accepted by the general public and has become a pilgrimage place for school classes. Despite the fact, that the building is utterly unattractive. Its location in the center of Cologne on the banks of the Rhine river is, however, spectacular and convenient. And it is adjacent to the Chocolate Museum!

(Translated by Google) The museum got off to a promising start in antiquity. Then it continues with the start of the Olympic Games in the 19th century. An effort is made to be interactive. There is an accompanying app and various stations to join in. Otherwise, quite a lot of information boards and a large timeline, which shows highlights worth mentioning in the history of sports. Unfortunately, the museum does not even begin to deal with the subject of doping (1 small showcase), corruption or protests (once mentioned as "negative reflection"). Not even the consequences (positive or negative) of hosting the Olympic Games are mentioned. Very surprising at a time when most European countries keep ending their bid for the Olympic Games. A positive mention should be made of soccer fields on the roof and around 5 table football games as well as a goal wall. Balls for this can be borrowed for free. Interactive nice, but overall rather disappointing.

Pretty fun museum! We were with a big group of 20 people but that was no problem for them. We got a guide who could paint a clear picture of what he was talking about. He was talking in German and I could even understand 95% of the time while I am not German. It was a great mix of learning by speech and learning by physical activity. Overall a great experience!
