Amazing place. Full ticket is 6 euros, for kids and students it's 3 euros. Totally worth it. Lots of stuff to see inside. A lot of different species. Also you can see some aquariums. The park outside is also amazing. Very big with tons of green and paths.

One of to do list in Berlin was to go to Christmas Garden. So here I am in Christmas Garden for the first time. Security guards at the main gate were not very friendly but full of attitude. Anyhow It was nice light show and decor is top class. We were thrilled by the beautiful ambience, the magical lights and sound effects, the cozy stands where refreshments were provided. Even it was bit freezing but for us, it was the perfect end of the day. We really enjoyed the light trail in garden. Even at the end, light show at glasshouse was awesome. Bad thing is after paying very expensive entry fee, you’ll have to pay for the toilet as well. That was totally unfair. Hope next time they’ll arrange things better for basic facilities.

Man muss wohl nochmal hin.

Wonderful place to pass a few hours in Berlin. Takes a bit of time to get there but for nature lovers its just great. Lots of trees, flowers, ponds and green to admire. The greenhouses are huge and offer a great view of plants not native to Germany. Tickts are cheap and well worth it. Go and enjoy.

Big place. Reserve 2-4hrs to see the place. Entrance is 6€ which is quite alright. When I visited there were construction going on so not so pleasant to hear the machinery and many routes were closed hence the 4 stars. My favorite part was the greenhouses. Full of plants and many many things to see. The water lilies were my favorite(see picture). Benches are available in a lot of spots. Unfortunately the museum was closed Tips for better experience: Better cafe (cakes were displayed behind the staff, should be displayed at the counter. Signs: some were missing, some were placed so far back that I couldn’t read.

Freaking love it! Thinking about changing my career now, because working in all floral parts of the world must be amazing and so relaxing. Pack some snack and a camera and enjoy what the world has to offer. But be careful with the plants! Some are real sensitive and some are even toxic. How amazing is that!

(Christmas garden review) Lovely place with interesting light installment. Totally suitable for a date or a night out. Perfect for photo shoots as well. You need at least 1:30 hrs to walk around the whole place without rushing. I feel it's a little over priced though.

The place is very nice and beautiful to walk around. A lot of different types of flowers and trees and it is gorgeous to walk through. If you have extra time in Berlin and you are looking for something relaxing and quiet you should visit this place. The cost for a single ticket is 6€.

Magnificent! The biggest greenhouse I have ever seen in my life. The plants are well presented by different zones. The collection of cactus is impressive. The building itself is nice. Unfortunately, the Botanic museum is closed for renovation and we have not walked in the garden because of the rain, but the greenhouse itself is worth visiting, and the price of 6 euros is really very moderate for the volume. And it is open on Monday when the majority of museums are closed.

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing place to get away from the city. Great walks all around. Lots to learn about bio diversity. The kids had a lot of fun reading up on the different plants and trees. There is a huge biodome with subtropical climate and plants to discover. I believe that there are 2x restaurants/cafes on site, prices are somewhat higher than usual and the food is okay.

Far exceeded our expectations. I'm not sure why I had never been super excited about going here (considering just how incredible every green space is in this city), but regardless, it was just fantastic. We went during the pandemic too, so there were a limited number of people allowed in (which was very nice). I believe we had to get a ticket in advance. But give yourself some real time here to enjoy the unique diversity of plant life, trees, and geography. The tall grass and the poplar trees just pull at my heart. Enjoy the amazing gifts Mother Nature offers us (and the Botanical Garden preserves).

So lovely. Not expensive. Came here to escape the bustle of the city and the roar in my mind. I'll definitely be back. Plus, it's going on my Mom List for whenever Corona is over or the US gets their mess together (whichever happens first) and she actually gets to come visit.

Beautiful big park with some ponds and heaps of differents plants, trees as well as pretty flowers. The bumblebees were just as friendly as the employees, which was a huge pro. Unfortunately many crops seemed to be very dehydrated and on the verge of dying, which was sad to see and a little disappointing. Also, due to Corona all of the green houses were closed off and so was the museum, which we only came to find out about upon arrival. Other than that, I can recommend a relaxing stroll through the gardens if you need a break from the city hustle.

Great experience! It was a lovely walk on a Sunday morning. I have to admit it would been very helpful to be given a map but that's a small complaint. They're going through renovation at the moment so be aware there is building work going on. If you're in need of wheelchair access it maybe difficult at this time to get around easily. Be sure to get the right ticket as there are separate tickets for the greenhouse.

The greenhouse gardens (glasshouses) alone were well worth the small entrance fee (4€)! It didn't bother me that most of the outdoor gardens are temporarily closed for renovations right now on my visit, since it's the off-season and there isn't much plant-wise to see outside anyway. They are separated by climate zones but also then by country and plant categories. This is the 2nd largest botanical garden in the world, which is noticeable in the large grounds and very extensive and well-laid-out collection of plants from around the world. Impressive! The cacti collection is quite large too. A lot of the plants from different zones were blooming; they were healthy and well-maintained. There were also smaller houses with begonias, Japanese plants, carnivorous plants, plants and their uses, etc. Be aware that while there were some signs with interesting information, almost all of them, and all the plant names, are in German (and Latin for the names) only!! Highly recommended for plant lovers and those who want a little peace and quiet!

Well worth the money! I and my boyfriend spent more than 3 hours there and would have spent even more if the garden wasn't closing soon. The garden was close to bus stops which was practical, it was nice to roam the garden even though it was raining, visiting the greenhouses was included in the price of a regular ticket (!), everything was well-maintained, there were free (and pretty clean) bathrooms in the garden and the greenhouses, the staff we talked to was nice, there wasn't too many people anywhere (although that could have been because of the rain) which was appreciated. It'd be nice if there was more maps and directional signs scattered throughout the botanical garden as it is huge and a bit hard to navigate, and also if there were English names (not just Latin) and English informational signs next to the plants (there were some English signs in the greenhouses but not in the outside garden). Some parts of the garden and greenhouses were closed off, but since it's so vast there, there was so much other stuff to see. Anyway, would love to come back again! So many parts we didn't get to see yet and I bet it'd be fun to come here again. :)

Lovely place to spend a few hours. Quiet. Some drawbacks include a lack of toilet paper in some cubicles and some plants visibly dying from not being watered enough. Unfortunately many parts are closed due to Coronavirus but still worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) Not to be recommended at the moment. Everything closed (greenhouses, beer garden), plus a huge construction site and still charge the full price, I think that's cheeky. Of course, you only get the information about the renovation work after you have paid. Because of Corona, you are not allowed to sit on the lawns as usual. Too bad! Echt schade!

I loved the botanical garden and Museum! It's a massive garden with beautiful plants and flowers. We weren't able to see everything, but what we did see was definitely worth the price to get in! The green houses were definitely my favorite. We were amazed at all the plants we've never seen before. This place would also be a good place to just chill and picnic with your family. The scenery is just so beautiful it would be nice to just sit and wander at it. This is by far the best botanical garden I've been to, and I would love to come back if I'm ever in Berlin Germany again!

(Translated by Google) Tickets for the Berlin Botanical Garden can be ordered conveniently and easily via the Internet. There is a time window of 4 hours. It was enough for us. Unfortunately, due to the authorities, the greenhouses are closed, which I personally think is a shame. Nevertheless, there is a lot to explore with small children. There are extra subject areas, e.g. China, Japan, Italy ... You can also eat in the botanical garden. A restaurant and a snack bar. I had no idea how amazing a walk in the botanical garden can be. A large area with different plants from different parts of the world. When you moving from one zone to another, you feel new aromas, inhale the incredible smells of trees. The greatest impression I got from the greenhouse. It is good that it is now open and you can look at different types of palms, cacti, citrus trees and much more. My stay took 4 hours. But that wasn't enough for me. Next time I will come back for sure for the whole day. But I have one thing that I would like to improve: all information cards inside greenhouse about plants are on german language. It will be great if they add english version.

I traveled all the way from Africa to visit Berlin. One of the to do list was to visit the gardens as I’m from a place of nature. First the door man was very unfriendly and did not great or even make any eye contact . I was very disappointed on how the garden was looked after and not sure why the steep price for entrance just to see dead plants and a badly looked after place . I got to the green house and I was refused entrance 15min before closing . The one staff member just throw there cigarette on the floor in front of use . I hope they picked it up after we left . I had a great meal at the restaurant and the owner was very helpful and happy. I do recommend a beer or meal there . Be prepared for the unexpected when visiting . I’m sure the green house is amazing. Please note you need to pay a second fee to enter there also. So one ticket to walk to the green house and a second to enter.

Even though it is still half winter the outdoors gardens were beautiful, and surprisingly many plants blooming. But the greenhouses really steal the show. They must be the most extensive ones I have ever seen, with amazing variety and climate zones. Beautiful landscaping and well kept. When you enter it's advisable to put your coat away because it's hot inside, especially the Victoria room is almost unbearable. I would love to see the outdoor parts in summer, it must be amazing. But now with a little cold it was also amazingly quiet and peaceful. The cafe at the greenhouse serves nice soup and has very friendly staff. The same can't be said for the staff at the entry ticket booth sadly. I pre booked my ticket and the signage wasn't entirely clear to me so I thought I was fine to enter the park. Especially since the website said the entry fee is only for the greenhouse not for anything else. So I assumed my ticket would be checked there. The lady in the booth called at me as if I was blind "Hellooo, did you not see this booth?!" I am autistic and I get easily confused or stressed if there is conflicting information, so this was not at all helpful or friendly. Also note that for the greenhouses a ffp2 mask is still required (4th April) even though the rules were lifted. This was also not told to me in the most friendly manner.

An Enchanting Oasis in the Heart of Berlin I had the pleasure of visiting the Botanical Garden in Berlin recently, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I stepped through the entrance, I was transported into a world of natural beauty and tranquility. The garden's extensive collection of plants and flowers from various corners of the globe left me in awe. The well-maintained pathways meandered through lush greenery, offering a feast for the eyes at every turn. Each section of the garden has been thoughtfully organized, allowing visitors to explore different ecosystems and appreciate the diversity of plant life. One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible Tropical House, which took me on a journey through dense rainforests. The humidity and temperature inside mimicked the authentic environment, instantly transporting me to another continent. It was fascinating to witness giant tropical ferns, vibrant orchids, and exotic palm trees up close. The sense of serenity and wonderment one feels in this space is truly indescribable. Another feature that I found particularly impressive was the themed gardens within the complex. From the Japanese Garden, with its meticulously arranged rocks and tranquil water features, to the Rose Garden filled with a riot of colors and intoxicating scents, each area had its own unique ambiance. Walking through these themed gardens felt like embarking on a sensory journey, offering a momentary escape from the bustling city. I must commend the knowledgeable and friendly staff who were ever-present and ready to assist with any inquiries. Their passion for horticulture was evident, as they shared fascinating anecdotes about the plants and their care. It greatly enhanced my overall experience and added an educational element to my visit. Furthermore, the botanical garden provides ample seating areas and beautifully manicured lawns, perfect for a leisurely picnic or a moment of quiet contemplation. The combination of verdant landscapes, chirping birds, and the fragrance of blossoming flowers created a serene ambiance. It's an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts, families seeking a peaceful outing, or couples looking for a romantic rendezvous amidst nature's marvels. Lastly, I appreciate the accessibility features offered by the garden. Ramps and smooth pathways ensured easy access for individuals with mobility challenges. The restrooms and eating facilities were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable experience for all. In conclusion, the Botanical Garden in Berlin is a true gem that should be on every nature lover's must-visit list. The sheer variety of plant species, the thoughtful organization of the gardens, the knowledgeable staff, and the overall serenity of the place make it a haven in the heart of the city. It’s an oasis where one can unwind, find inspiration, and connect with nature in a truly immersive way. Highly recommended!

Berlin’s Botanic Garden is truly large and diverse with 20 000 different species of plants on 43 hectares. Some of the paths are under construction, but the stroll is nevertheless rewarding. Several clean toilets are available. Very worth the visit even when the weather is bad, thanks to the several greenhouses. They are well maintained and the routes are nicely guided. Although The Botanic Garden is not centrally situated, it is easily reached with U- or S-Bahn. The day ticket costs 6 euros.

This is, if not my favorite, one of my favorite Places in Berlin and probably the whole Germany. This place is full of life, fresh air, beautiful trees and plants. Its a big place that you can use to walk and free your mind or to jog and take some fresh air. If you want to rest for a while, there are sparse seats around that you can use to recover, also a couple of restaurants and cafe inside the Garden. I dont remeber how many times I've visited this place, and don't know how many more i will, it's just an amazing place that you need to see.

It was so amazing to See the different plants and really feel the different climats as they are all represented pretty well. Such an interesting place and No too far away from the Center. Well worth a visit to the greenhouses, even in Autumn. Massive, extensive glass houses, like being in the jungle! Beautiful gardens outside, would love to see them in the Spring too. Nice little cafe for hot drinks and eats.

The botanical garden in Berlin is an enchanting oasis boasting an incredible variety of plants in diverse microenvironments. Exploring the expansive greenhouses was a journey through different climates, each displaying a stunning array of flora. Outside, the park surrounding the garden was equally captivating, with a multitude of plant species and majestic trees. We also spotted two foxes! A truly unforgettable botanical experience in the heart of Berlin. 🌿🦊🍺

Very well organized and thought through botanical garden. It was pure joy to walk through here and learn about the natural world of plants, fish, birds and butterflies. There is plenty to see and explore yet the walking distances are not overbearing.

One of my favorite places in Berlin. Bring water with you and enjoy the walks. Greenhouses are temporarily closed because of Covid-19. They are beautiful and relaxing but the park is worth the visit too.

Perfect rain or shine! I visited Berlin for three days last year and would highly recommend squeezing in a visit here no matter how little time you may have. The grounds are extremely well kept and worth the nominal fee. I enjoyed seeing and photographing the massive lily pads in one of the controlled atrium buildings. I was there in July and had missed much of the spring flora, but there were still many bright beautiful flowers to see. The outdoor section with various succulents was perfectly manicured and quite exquisite in its own right.

We went to the Christmas Garden in December 2019. It was a mystical and magical night that was definitely worth the money. We booked tickets online so there was no queuing when we arrived. We embarked on a path that was filled with breathtaking lights and light shows. The path offers plenty of great photo opportunities and there are a few stalls to stop at and buy warm drinks. At the end of the evening we had a bite to eat and a drink at the mini market that had been set up. There was also a small ice rink to try out. It’s great for couples, a group of friends and families. I would definitely recommend the Christmas Garden! Dress warmly and book an earlier slot as we spent hours wondering around.

Why on earth would you only use orange lighting in a conservatory? The colors inside were so bad making all the plants look the same shade of sickly orange. Please invest in making the lighting more hospitable indoors. The displays themselves were lovely however. I enjoyed the many mimosas. I think there were too many plaques everywhere, Honestly, not everything needs to be labelled.

Lovely gardens to walk around with lots of shade but don’t visit during the Corona measures! All the main attractions why we came here are closed. We found out by arriving at the gate and seeing a sign written in German only. The huge green house and the museum are not open due to the Corona measures, which is understandable, however we would have done something else if we would have known up front. Tourist trap?!

Visiting the Botanic Garden is like traveling while walking around the garden. The Botanic Garden (Botanischer Garten) in Berlin-Dahlem was created at the beginning of the 20th century with a clear concept 'the world in one garden'. Today, the 43-hectare garden hosts 20,000 plant species and is one of the largest and most important gardens of its kind in the world. My favorite highlight of the garden is its plant-geographical layout: a third of the total garden area shows a walk-in world map of the natural vegetation of the temperate northern hemisphere. The museum is closed at the moment and will be reopen in 2022.

Absolutely gorgeous botanical gardens. The grounds are massive, well groomed with lovely paths and benches to sit and relax everywhere. The views are spectacular especially in spring time. The grounds also have several green houses. Recently they reopened the Victoria Water Lily green house which makes a nice edition to the gardens. The Gardens also have food stalls, coffee shops and beer garden on site and clean facilities.

The team was on time in front of the hotel entrance, the car was in excellent condition and tour guidance as well as explanations of the sights were offered in an understandable and relaxed atmosphere. It was flexibly received on requests (break regulation, inspection priorities); Drinks were "on board" and the set schedule could be well kept.

A really nice place to go to, it's well organized to make a trip without Guide. The "Gewächshaus" is awesome 👍 to have a look. All over all it has been a great experience. But there is ONE but, the outside area is at some places unreachable if you are handicapped. It's also impossible to go alone there if you are a wheelchair user 😔

A Mix of Romance, trees, Brushes, meadows, small rivers and bodies of Water thats are Illuminated with colorful floodlights plus classical music, theater live acts and of course food and drink stands. Recommended for young old singles and families. The prices for Good and Drinks are a little bit high.

Really amazing greenhouse and planting grounds, nice cafe in the entrance, although we got yelled at for getting too close to the lake. Lots of interesting native and non-native plants.

  • 5/5 Michael S. 2 years ago on Google
The greenhouse is huge. We spent about 2 hours inside and another hour walking the grounds outside. We could have spent the entire day there but our legs couldn't handle it. It's October as I write this so only a few plants were blooming outside- the grounds must be gorgeous from spring into summer.

A goodbotanical garden, a good place for a rest and for enjoying nature, great selection of plants of different types from all over the world. As of summer 2020 most of the green houses are being renovated and you cannot see the most interesting collections

  • 5/5 Eva S. 2 years ago on Google
Beautifully set up garden. Even in winter there is still plenty to see both outside and inside. The greenhouses showcase different themed plants

  • 5/5 charlie just c. 2 years ago on Google
we booked tickets for the Christmas garden and were a little sceptic because of the hefty price tag of almost €20 for a visit to a Christmas-themed garden, but it was absolutely worth it for a one-time experience. it's a huge area that's not only decked in fairy lights and Christmas music, but offers many special effects you can't experience anywhere else. the light show on the water was amazing for every age. there are several spots that offer holiday drinks and candies as well, but those were very crowded.

  • 5/5 Zuzana K. 2 years ago on Google
I loved our visit to this botanical garden. We didn't see the outdoor planting at its peak due to the time of the year - although the autumnal colours were spectacular - the highlight of the visit are the glasshouses. I've been to quite a few botanical gardens but never seen glasshouses like this. They are enormous and there are quite a few, with some pretty amazing specimen. They also have a really well done aquarium exhibit. I really recommend visiting, whether you're into plants or not that much!

  • 4/5 Brandon L. 2 years ago on Google
Entrance location was totally not clear and we had to walk around almost the entire park as the signs pointed us in the wrong way to an entrance they ended up being closed. But everything else was beautiful for the Christmas season

Christmas: prices a bit to high. ______ Botanical garden... It's amazing! I 100% recommend to visit. There is an awesome work and knowledge behind.

  • 4/5 L T. 2 years ago on Google
The greenhouses were the Highlight of the botanical gardens. They are currently running the Christmas gardens during the night that I can unfortunately not recommend. It is a walk through the park with some light installations that are maybe good for a one-time experience but I wouldn't go again. Regarding the regular garden, i would recommend going in spring summer or early fall because that's where the park really pops and you get the most of it. During winter and late autumn/fall it just looks like an ordinary park, probably a little disappointing. You need to book timeslots for the greenhouses in advance but they are absolutely worth it, the different biomes are interesting to see and pleasantly placed. I was lucky to visit on a day where not many people visited so taking pictures was a blast. It's a great place for couples, families and friends. Definitely would go again.

  • 4/5 Bassel R. 2 years ago on Google
The lights were really nice. There is a lot of effort in the organisation. Park places were plenty just around the entrance. Although: 1.it is outside event 2.all visitors must be vaccinated 'they check on that in the entrance' But all visitors need to have the masks on all the time. This was annoying for people wearing glasses, as the temperature was -7 degrees and the glasses were always fogged up due to wearing mask out side in such a temperature, making it not easy to see and enjoy the atmosphere.

Visited the botanical garden at night during the Christmas lights and was a beautiful experience. Even though one can see the hard work behind all the art, I still feel the price should be slightly reduced, maybe this way they would have more people interested and going there.

  • 5/5 Romain T. 2 years ago on Google
The entry fee is really cheap (6€ and only 3€ for reduced rates) but it is so worth it if you book the greenhouses too. 🪙 The outdoor park is cool but in when we went in winter it was being renovated and there wasn't much to see (I still really liked it though). 🌳 The indoor garden with the greenhouses is the best part, you have multiple greenhouses with a lot of species and different climates and it's really cool. 🌴 It takes a bit more than an hour to see everything but you can just walk around, chill, sit down and enjoy the climate, the heat and the tropical environment. 🪴 Great place to go to and worth your time and money.

  • 5/5 Kim Alexander H. 1 year ago on Google
A great place for a day off in Berlin. The greenhouses are particularly interesting with a MASSIVE variety of plants and the occasional frog and beetle. What to look for: The arboretum and the tropical greenhouses. Just gorgeous to look at. The also have a poisonous section. Be careful if you have kids with you. Also, the cafe at the centre only takes cash. Even after the pandemic.

  • 5/5 Olena K. 1 year ago on Google
In early April not much is yet happening outside, but the green houses are very interesting and beautiful! They are also quite big, so it's a nice walk inside a warm humid green environment, while it's cold and windy outside )

This Botanical Garden is huge and has a vast array of beautiful plants to see. A great spot for a relaxed walk. I attended the Night of Botanica and enjoyed everything it had to offer - there was plenty of music, food, drinks, and other entertainment for all ages, all for a reasonable price.

It's definitely one of the most beautiful places I've been to. Huge park with the lake, squirrels and a fox just walking around, beautiful flower zones and glass palaces for amazing plants. The Winter lights installation is amazing! As you walk through the path, you find yourself in surprising areas such as the laser garden (pictured). The installation is worth it, with a couple caveats: 1) we went on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded, making it hard to even order a sausage, 2) the walk is long and the terrain is bumpy, so if you go with kids do bring a stroller and make sure it has decent wheels.

  • 4/5 Atefeh 9 months ago on Google
Interesting plants to see (Some of the plants were like dry and not in a good shape, but mostly the plants were healthy) It is worth visiting. Also there is a cafe inside the garden. The visit may take around 1.5 hours.

Don't bother visiting at the moment most paths were closed, there was little to see by way of plants, the cafe had a tiny selection of food and I found one toilet. I wish I had not wasted my time coming but the trees were lovely!

One of my favourite places in Berlin and the perfect place to go and find a slice of paradise in what is already a fantastic city. If you are in Berlin and the sun is shining, you don’t want to miss this. Flora from all over the world and a variety of wildlife to see.

I wish there was a warning about how much of the park is currently closed and under construction. It was still nice to see, considering it was the off season. It is not stroller or wheelchair accessible. It would be also nice if the descriptions were in multiple languages considering it being a tourist attraction
