Nice small museum, lots of fossils, dioramas and extinct animal and dinosaur figures. Not very exciting for small children, other then looking at dinosaur and animal figures.

Recommend to visit if you have a small child. You can easily enjoy the exhibitions for more than two hours.

Very interesting museum accessible by tram. Has a very large collection of Amber, the largest I've personally seen. Also has lots of dinosaur/prehistoric bones and artifacts, alongside plastic replications of extinct animals. Relatively cheap entrance prices, and a great place for kids. Note that all exhibition descriptions are in German.

This is a great place to visit with kids, since it has just enough info and exhibitions to keep them interested. I do think that it has seen better days and it feels as though the exhibitions haven't been properly taken care off. Some exhibitions seem worn by time, at other exhibitions you can find dust. Also, would be nice to have explanations printed out in English as well.

A great place to meet all the Dinos and fossils. We had a spontaneous visit as a family with two boys and everyone enjoyed it a lot. There is a restaurant directly at entrance. If you visit on cold seasons we recommend to leave your jacket downstairs next to toilets on the hangers or lockers. You can spend a good 90- 120 minutes there. It is a good mixture of learning/ playing and adventure

The place is very nice and free for children. The exhibit contains a nice variation of different land and aquatic species of the time. The downside is for people like myself who don't speak German, nothing is translated into English. So we looked around, and squinted to try to understand parts of what was written. If you speak German this is a 5 star experience. The restaurant out back is not bad, but a bit heavy on the salt in all dishes.

Not so big but very good and detailed presentation. This museum is at Löwetor and not at Schloss which is at a distance of 1,4km but worth walking. Cafe fossils also opens as per the Museum. Downstair is the WC and a Locker with 1€ returnable.

Given that you're supposed to stay for two hr, it does not fill an entire afternoon. We had a good time though, there are lots of cool things to discover and try out. It's grate for taking some interesting pictures. However for us, since my child is only 5 years old, there are also many things that are certainly way more interesting for kids 10 and above, I would say. Seeking an intriguing venue for your children or out-of-town guests? Check out this museum which will captivate the imagination and intrigue the young and old alike. While a small venue, we find that we can spend countless hours challenging our brains and being entertained. Museum is very fun and you feel amazed by the exhibits. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is good. Some of the attractions in need of better maintenance and the size of the museum is very small. Two hours is more than enough to go calmly though everything.

Liked it! It is small but nice, and they really put some effort in making it interesting, not just displaying fossils.

Parking is an issue - better to take public transportation. The prices are very reasonable and the museum is spacious. There are colored lines on the ground to assure you see everything in the right order.

Very nicely made exhibition of dinosaurs and pre-historic mammals, good for the whole family. Depending how old the kids are, and fi you choose to buy the audio guides or take self-guided tour, it will take you around 1 to 3 hours to see everything.

We've visited museum on Saturday morning, right after opening. Very nice, interesting museum! Interesting for all ages. There is also café/restaurant.

  • 4/5 ChrisCooper312 7 months ago on Google
Nice museum. A bit hard to find the way around. There is a "track" on the floor to follow but it's easy to get side tracked and end up going the wrong way and skipping a few million years. Most information in German but many exhibits have English information cards to.

  • 5/5 Manisha Sree adithya S. 4 months ago on Google
This is a best place for kids enthusiasts, who want to explore animal world especially Dinos, and also there are some interactive puzzles for kids of all ages. The animal figures are so natural and eye catching.

Been there with my 2,5 years old daughter: she lasted there 1,5 maybe 2 hours. The museum is not giant, but it's enough for kids and good for adults. Nicely organized by eras, lots of information on cards. There is a table for kids to draw with pictures and pencils (for the first time I saw a pencil sharpener in the museum!!!!), a place to park your stroller. Many places to sit and have a rest (very important if you are in the third trimester). The museum shop has ok prices: I saw there the simple plastic Dino for like 17-20eur, the same price for the same size toy was in the shop in the mall nearby (but the shop is tiny, of course one can buy a smaller toy for less money). In front of the museum there is a giant playground, which is very nice and fits for the majority of ages. All in all, a great place to visit if you have kids.

Thieves acting like thieves. They flee from responsibility, authorities and public opinion. They hide the fossil, block the public, stop the protesters, but don't admit their crimes. #UbirajaraBelongsToBR

Due to the pandemic situation, nothing provided for kids. They could develope a leaflet on drawing and making a note with some stories for their understanding.

we didn't know that OP surgical mask was prohibited, only the FFP2. And we entered normally, but in the middle of the visit to the Museum we were asked to leave because our mask was not allowed. We were visiting the city and here in Germany where we live, there is no such requirement. However, it was the Museum's mistake to let us in and pay without notice of this requirement. There were many people in the place on the same day as it was a holiday. I was with my kids and we had to leave. It was very frustrating and embarrassing.

Very good place to visit with children, it gives an overview of how paleontologists have discovered our past through bones and skeletons. Dinosaurs, snails, fish, mammoth and many other species can be observed through the evolutionary lens. My son was little disappointed not to see the whole skeleton of T Rex but only a face coming out of wall. It's very informative for people of all ages and costs only 5 euro for adults, children are free.

Great for families...still pretty cool for adults. With all the huge dinosaurs on display this is the perfect Museum for kids (evident by the huge number of families). But there is more than enough information and facts to make it just as fun for adults to explore. Absolutely worth a visit, especially if you have children. If you kid live dinosaurs (as most kids do)...this is a must see.

Child friendly place, 1-2 hour of visit time, Nearby parking, Very detailed information about dinosaur history and its extinction, It would be great if they can display short clips about the history of dinosaur. After visiting the Museum, family can also visit nearby Rosenstein garden.

  • 5/5 thoo r. 2 years ago on Google
Compared to other Paleontological Museums it's a big one. It's easy to walk through because the collection is arranged chronologically (Carboniferous, Permian...). Very interesting is the exhibition of amber fossils.

Its a good museum for dino lovers but we took our younger kid and it was hard to use our buggy in the building, no elevator. I recommend to take an easy to carry buggy.

Very interesting museum. Great place to go with family and children. Every age group will find something interesting. Wensdays after 13:00 the entrance if free for all.

Even though all the information was only in German, my two boys, ages 3 and 5, enjoyed this museum. They love dinosaurs so it was perfect. I had to use Google translate. It was a bit inconvenient but okay overall.

If you haven't been in a place like this before.. there's nothing I can say to describe how amazing a place like this can be. The knowledge there is in a place like this. It's truly unique and majestic.

Very nice and good museum a lot of interesting things, but then I went to get food there and got disappointed that they don’t have Dino nuggets-.-

  • 5/5 powerwheelscd 1 year ago on Google
Great museum for anyone interested in pre history, but for kids interested in Dinosaurs, It would be a must stop. A very short walk from the S-Bahn and was only 5€ entrance. Everything is in German, but most displays have English cards,. The Google translate app comes in handy.

Good time spent here. You get to know so many ancient history, species. Entry fee is there. Can spend ~2hrs to cover everything. There is a restaurant inside. There was a history video show, we didn't attend. Good place to go with kids.
