Es hat richtig Spaß gemacht. Für groß und klein, da findet jeder was. Eintritt 8€ absolut nachvollziehbar.

Location of the museum is outside of the city center. You can get there by train. From the station there is a bus that can take you there (it's just few minutes). Museum by itself is very cool. They have a lot of planes to see. Whole tour will take you 1.5 to 2 hours. Only thing I didn't like was the flight simulator that was closed just like in main Deutsches Museum.

Aviation was always inspired me and this museum helped me look closer towards my dream. They're a lot of different kind of planes and engines. Interesting from historical point of view and from engineering site.

If you are interested in aircrafts it is the place to be. Unfortunately there is not a lot of interaction for the kids to understand the way of flying.

If you are with kids it's a perfect place where to spend few hours. The expositions are good and interesting for adults and kids. Information is in English and Deutch so it's also a good point due to consideration of the museum to non German speakers.

Entrance is 8 euro/adult but definitely worth a lot more. a well 3 hours spent there in this old airfield where you can witness the story how the airfield evolved from ww1 in tents to steel hangars with the American army after ww2. you see a great collection of civil / military airplanes and jet fighters. from 10.00 am till 2.00 pm every 30 min a man at the entrance present a show with his own remote Montgolfier and in the great exhibition hall another staff member make planes from wood and cans and present a flying circus remotely. you can enter some of the planes cabinet and you can see the rockets and missiles with a the first space rocket launched by Europe in his 4 stages. there's also a special exhibition room that teaches you some speaking catchphrases from the airfield language, a lot of planes/equipment/radios/engines/safety pilot seats and suits to see and a gift shop with drinks/cookies. also a plane simulator if you like to feel the experience. very recommended.

Wide spread exhibition on German aviation. Located at former airfield and close to Schloss Schleisheim.

One of the best Aviation Museum in the world! Very well preserved and displayed. Get up close and learn about these magnificent machines. Was quite a walk from the station, but through quiet neighbourhood.

Nice musuem about aviation. There are quite a few airplanes from 70-90, there a few interactive stands. Can be especially good way to spend time on rainy days.

My husband loves this place, he spent 2 hours walking reading and taking pictures. I sat and watched people's faces while they admire the planes in the main hall

Being an engineer and a aerospace enthusiast, there is no other place of more interest to me! You get to see many actual airplanes and other air-space vehicles! Definitely worth a visit! They also have special pricing for students!

Nice museum, interesting planes, quite empty, but if u wanna get in,very difficult even if u have all of the 3G’s! The employee at the entrance can’t read, so it took a lot of time ! Just an unprofessional and not polite at all 😔

It's a nice museum for kids and adults. There are different kinds of Aircraft from the past. There are also some in which children can go inside and just play around.

A good selection of rare aircraft types and those operated by the Luftwaffe. It is also situated in a green and peaceful area easily accessible via public transport from Munich.

Nice museum that lets you see different types of aircraft from all periods. Nice layout and lots of information about the planes. You also get to walk pretty close to planes and on balcony for different perspective.

Great museum (even though the main hall was closed until 1:30pm the day I went and I missed it). I arrived in the morning and the main hall was under construction until the afternoon. The smaller hall was still outstanding. Lot of variety of planes, helicopters, gliders. This site has a long history with aviation and I highly recommend for aviation enthusiasts. Small gift shop and cafe as well. The trip is short ride on the S1 to Oberschleißheim and then a short bus ride followed by a short walk. From Munich Hbf take S1 to Bus 292 (1 stop) followed by a 10-15 min walk.

I was in fact rather disappointed. The museum is far outside Munich in the middle of nowhere. There are old planes, yes…but it’s more a storage, than a museum with explanation. The whole place is a bit rundown and without ambition…

Very good museum for aviation lovers. We spent around 2 hours. You can have an ice cream, a cafe or a drink at the museum shop.

Disappointed … went there in 2019 . It was possible to walk trough the planes, go inside of some of them (the ADAM ), layout was very organized. Now found first hangar empty , second hangar with all pales just parked without possibility to walk through…. seems more like a parking than a museum .

Awesome collection of planos but some of the are far away and they lack explanation.

Nice museum with aircraft from past to latest present. Had hoped to find a Stuka and BF109 Messerschmitt but pity it was not. A BF109 being in restoration so maybe in a couple of years visit again. Phantom Sabre Typhoon Tornado Starfighter amongst others on display

This is a must for the aviation geeks, but the current renovation makes the experience significantly worse compared to early 2023. When I first visited there in January 2023, I had an amazing experience. There were lots of interesting aircraft that you could see up close and even enter the cabin of some of them, as you can see in the pictures. Fast forward five months, and they completely changed the hangar layout. You could no longer walk between the aircraft or enter the cabin of any of them. My last visit was in October 2023. The hangar layout was improved, but still, you could not walk in between the aircraft. Don't get me wrong, I highly recommend a visit, but compared to how things were before, it's extremely disappointing. I'm looking forward to seeing how it will look after renovation, and I hope we can get close to the aircraft again. Also, if you live in Munich, I recommend buying the anual ticket. The ticket is valid for this and the Deutsches Museum in the city center.

Lots of interesting planes, for instance the Dornier Do 31 VTOL. With the current Covid situation, one needs to purchase an online ticket even at the counter. It's right next to the Schleißheim Palace, quite far away from public transit (1.5 km from S-Bahn station Oberschleißheim).

  • 5/5 Sandra 2 years ago on Google
Perfect place on a not so sunny day. With some luck one of the engineers there will tell you about their experiences, explain and talk about stories behind certain planes. Loved the day there and we will back, definitely!

Takes around 1.5 hours. Lots of different airplanes, mainly small ones. The historical section is very interesting. But is less than the Verkehrsmuseum, but a good tripo on a rainy day

  • 3/5 Carlos Andres R. 5 months ago on Google
It is expensive for what it really offers. The museum is interesting but pretty small. If you go once is more than enough. They had some events outside with RC planes and drones which were pretty interesting.

For enthusiasts and amateurs alike, there's something that will interest everyone here! Additionally, it's nice that this museum is rather "bite sized": in comparison to other museums of similar style like the Technik Museum Speyer, it's very possible to "see everything" in one visit. Overall we really enjoyed getting so close to everything and how well-presented some of the aircraft and models are with cutaway sections and such. My favorite exhibit was the small one on rocketry--being able to get so close and see all the details of those incredible machines was fascinating.

Very nice and enjoyable, not too short not too long. Nice and interesting pieces on display, from MiG to Henkels to F104 Maybe some some narrative guiding the visitors through the rooms or some more explanations on the role of each airplane in the history of flight could have helped to enjoy more the museum.

The exhibit has a lot of amazing models in very well maintained condition. Had a great time getting to know the details and looking at them.

What a fantastic Museum ! From a plane’s lover view its the ideal Trip. It’s located 20 minutes from the city center of Munich so its pretty easy to reach. The museum is pretty huge and there is a flight simulator from aerosoft which you can book. There is also an RC Plane simulator that is available at any time. In the last part of the museum there are also a few planes that you can actually see from the inside. There are a lot of toilets through the museum but there is no restaurant. Overall we payed 13€ for two adults and one child. A great visit !

Lovely place to explore the aviation world. The aircraft are extraordinary and staffs were friendly. Just a wish that the workshop can be a bit cooler since it is steamy hot during summer days.

Awesome! You can learn a lot about Aviation and to look at the machines that were once ruling the skies. You'll enjoy!

  • 3/5 dana m. 1 year ago on Google
The museum is quite interesting, but the effort to get here is great. This is accentuated by the total lack of politeness and enthusiasm of the staff who seem to do you a favor by leaving you at the simulator - after leaving us to wait 30 minutes, the instructor left after first person; they let us outside the bilding after we ask this imperious because isn't forbidden. The staff spoils everything, honestly ...
