What I really appreciated was that every piece was also detailed in English and not only German. Many of the artworks are also described in terms of themes, myths and stories, and not just by their titles and years. There are works by Raphael, Raffael, Rembrandt, Cranach, Eyck, Dürer. A wonderful masterpiece of architecture, currently under restoration. The exhibitions there are very beautiful and offer an interesting perspective on the history of the building.

Beautiful gallery unfortunately it was the day the couple glued themselves to the frame of the painting so we were evacuated and were told we would have to email for a refund. We had seen probably half of the collection when we were evacuated. It's not the staffs fault it was a bizarre occurrence. On the whole we loved Dresden.

Really enjoyed spending a long afternoon browsing through this gallery. Some amazing pictures beautifully showcased in this lovely building. Lots to see. Staff were very helpful. I would recommend a visit

In addition to the gallery's world-famous gems, it was especially interesting to see an entire collection of works by Canaletto that depicted 18th-century Dresden in great detail. Magical city rebuilt from the ruins.. more than once actually! Alte Meister is a dream for art lovers, such a spirit there.

The vast collection of arts is beyond imagination. It’ll take a long time to finish the visit. Didn’t know that there is mummy; so it was an exciting visit for me.

If you find yourself in Dresden, interested in art, and have a few hours this should be on your list. As advertised, old masters. Compact enough not to need all day, but with depth. If you have time, get the audio guide. Unfortunately for us, the famous Vermeer was on loan when we visited, plenty of other fine paintings to feast our eyes on. Don't forget to stop at the gift shop. Well stocked with plenty of excellent text books. There's a cafe also. Thankfully, plenty of spots in the center of the gallery rooms to have a seat. 1.5 to 2.0 hours minimum, but one could stay all day. Enjoy!

3 floors of artwork, from bottom to top. Ancient sculptures of the Greek and the Romans, 15th century, 16th century, 17th century paintings, etc. Couches and places to sit in some rooms, a painting renovation room shown to the public, a cafe, toilets, and places to leave your backpack/handbag/etc.

Great collection of paintings. Well worth at least two hours. You have to check in all bags, even small ones. This can be a nuisance.

Very good Museum. If you love clasical good art - this museum is for you! Wonderful and big collection of Canaletto! Many very good artists exhibited here. You can find here many famous art which you know from the art books.

I went on a trip to Germany with my school, such a cool art museum. Stood in awe of all of the sculptures and paintings for hours!

A great art gallery with a lot of beautiful paintings and sculptures in the interior of Zwinger Palace. Visiting off-season is good - no line to enter.
