Nice place to visit to see the evolution of clocks in general. It also has a special section about Cockoo clocks. There are some exhibits where we can press a button and get a feel of how the clock used to work. The demonstration of the very old musicals and clocks by the people working there was just amazing. The sun clock outside the museum was surprisingly very accurate to the minute ! You can easily spend a couple of hours here.

My father collected Festler grandfather clocks made in Maryland circa 1800. Look what I found.

Amazing experience! We were offered a tour of the factory, were they make the clocks by a nice lady when we asked more about how the machines work! At the end we bought a skeleton clock made there as a souvenir. Wonderful experience for any horological fan!

Beautiful Museum with many interesting watches, included in the black card. but.. It won't suit everyone. As an adult I was very interested but my 13 year old nephew wasn't very engaged. If it was more interactive or if there were cleared English explanations, maybe he would appreciate it more. So, if this place is on your path anyone and it's free for you (with the card) - do come! Otherwise and if you have other places to be, it's ok 😉 As mentioned in other reviews, the staff is indeed very nice and welcoming ☺️

Sehr schön alte Uhren. Von verschiedenen Epochen. Sehr interessant.

The guided tour was very interesting, much more informative than going around alone would be. The guide showed how the clocks worked, and the concept of time that developed from the Middle Ages, where clocks were out by approximately a minute a day, to today. The need for a constant time within a town, to the railway which brought the need for shared time. Why a cuckoo (cuckcuck)? What about an orchestra clock?

A mid size museum where you can see a lot of beautiful clocks, watches (and there were some ugly ones 😏). The service was also very kind. There was a short interactive session about mechanical musical instruments. I recommend for families.

This was definitely worth a visit. English language booklets are available for self guided tours through the museum. We spent several hours learning about the history of time keeping and the evolution of the clock making craft. The staff provided a demonstration of an enormous clock which had traveled around the world (in German with English translation afterwards). There's a cheap parking garage a short walk away.

Interesting place to learn about origins of clocks, and clock making in the black forest. Why was there only one hand? How did clocks evolve. Fun activities for children on Tuesdays.

Really interesting museum. Descriptions were mostly in German but the counter lent us a booklet with English descriptions that covers most of the museum. There is also a short demonstration of the musical clocks in German and English which we enjoyed very much. Overall we had a good time and a great place to visit especially so when the weather is not ideal. We spent about 2.5hrs there.

Very interesting place to wander about for an hour or two. If possible, a guild to take you through the museum would enhance the experience. But they do give you a headset to explain the different exhibits which is helpful.

Even though museum is small, it has wonderful collection of clocks. Most of the ancient clocks are still working and it's a marvel to watch them. The fee is is worth the tour and the handbooks to read about the clocks are a great help for non Germans.

Really interesting musuem on clocks. Learn about not only the cuckoo clock but the history of clocks and time keeping. The musuem has many beautiful old clocks. There is also a demonstration of clocks that play music.

This place is awesome. You should use the black forest card here. Can easily apend here an hour, kids friendly and the even have written info in Hebrew. Parking on the street, make sure you pay using the machines.

(Translated by Google) Incredibly great and extensive museum around the clock (haha). With information boards, exhibits and dioramas, you are well informed about the career of timekeeping and the (Black Forest) watchmaking trade. We also attended two demonstrations. Once was the largest exhibit in the museum, an old clock that shows the times of various large cities and the date in addition to the local one. This watch can also play various melodies (first photo, large watch made of dark wood). The second demonstration gave a taste of various musical exhibits, often with organ pipes, drums and the like.
