My first few times dining here was 20+ years ago and hadn't been back in 18 years. It was great back then and even better now. Lovely setting, nice staff and great vegan food. SERVES ALCOHOL too! Beer, wine and cocktails. Great for solo diners, couples and even large groups.

This restaurant only serves Vegan and Vegetarian food and it's a Italian restaurant I recommend the Ravioli, I still can't believe how they make all of this vegan and vegetarian

Nice Italian vegan place (although it has a lot of Indian decor inside haha). We tried the pizza as well as antipasto plate. They are absolutely delicious and filling

They really understand gluten-free requirements there, which made me feel really safe. They had gluten-free pasta but I went for a salad. It was nice enough, although I would have much preferred the spinach to be raw instead of cooked. And the olive oil wasn't good. It said olive oil from Spain on the container but it didn't smell like olive oil and husband said it tasted more like sunflower oil. I decided to skip and season my salad with lime. My salad came quickly. It would have been nice if they had waited and brought our orders at the same time. But my husband's pizza came as I was finishing my salad. Despite all this, I very much enjoyed that place. I was craving some healthy food and the staff were adorable and really knowledgeable about gluten-free needs. Husband said pizza was ok. A bit over 300 for each dish.

I wish there were a higher rating scale (say, 6 out of 5 ;-) ) for this place. There was a time when I travelled a lot, and finding pure Veg restaurants in SE Asia is mostly a hard found luxury. I found this place too, after much searching. And I was not disappointed with the choice. The journey to and fro my place of stay made it worth the evening. Their bruschetta was awesome and all their served dishes were sumptuous and filling (and a little to spare). A very recommended place based on my travels from years ago. Given that this place still shows many 4 and 5 stars even now, must mean they are doing it right !!!! My continued wishes to those behind the scenes keeping Govinda running so well.

This would be the best vegetarian restaurant in Bangkok. The food (100% Jain) was amazing taking care of all the instructions. Got a chance to thank the chefs personally for a perfectly cooked meal. If you are looking for a great place to enjoy pizza, pasta, risotto and more, make sure you visit this place. Had visited the place in 2016 also - and can confirm that the legacy is well maintained.

A great place! We went twice on our 2 day stay in Bangkok. The staff was attentive, sweet and always had a smile on their faces. They really were amazing! The food was also great! It is rare and so nice to have vegan Italian options!

What a lovely evening of dining had here. Most probably the best spaghetti Bolognese I have had since becoming vegan. The pizza was good but the spaghetti was the highlight. We were given some warm bread, breadsticks and tomatoes to start while we waited for our food, much appreciated. Accompanied by almond milk ice tea, sweet yet delicious. Would come back again.

Food was good, not great. Communication in English was much harder than any other place we have tried. Dishes with Ricotta cheese had no Ricotta and maybe two slivers of mozzarella cheese but I would have said zero. Better communication and accurate menu descriptions would yield 5 stars. Prices are high.

Terrible service; not even a hello, goodbye or thank you which made us feel very uncomfortable. Also, the prices are really expensive and there's a 10% service charge automatically added on. Ridiculous considering there was zero service. Food is also very average. So many better alternatives in Bangkok. One to miss.

The food here was nice, it's a vegetarian restaurant that provide various of Italian vegetarian food. The price is more expensive than average cost in Thailand. Although there's a lot of choice but also many food were not available when we tried to order.

A little hard to find because you try to avoid the people standing in front of the alley entrance, but DO go inside. Govinda is a cute Italian restaurant with great food (and an amazing Instagram wall)! I had a vegan pizza which was quite expensive but the portion was big so I didn't leave with an empty stomach. They also served bruschetta as an appetizer, on the house! The staff was very nice, I chatted with the servers and the chef. This business cares about animal rights and has a collection box inside, if you would like to donate. Furthermore, they leave out cat food for the homeless kitties of Bangkok. The cats were cute and no bother at all. Support this local business and spread the love! They have good karma. ♥️

This used to be the best restaurants for vegetarian italian food. Unfortunately the standards have dropped for the main dishes. The furniture/cutlery/decor has not been refurbished and has signs of heavy wear and tear. In regards to food: The starters are great. The garlic bread and focaccia is still amazing, along with the signature govinda salad. However, when it comes to the mains, standards have dropped significantly. The cream sauce dishes are no longer made with fresh cream, and hence have a lingering aftertaste. This has killed their formerly best dish: ravioli with cream sauce. The pizza was so/so but cannot compete with most other pizzerias in Bangkok. I would still recommend the restaurant for vegetarians, but no longer as a MUST GO in Bangkok.

Located within one of the Soi, it's definitely the best Italian food I have ever tasted. Allium can be removed. Loved their Fried Ravioli and Alfredo Pizza so much. It is quite expensive (2K Baht for 4 pax!!) but would definitely come back again when I'm in BK again!

Listen, great staff! The woman who runs this place is amazing: super accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, beautiful! BUT, after my vegan pizza I had some major intestinal issues. I’m going to save the internet the medical jargon but my hypothesis is that there is too much cross contamination in this kitchen. So, if you’re vegan by allergy - like I am - I’d skip this place and go somewhere where the kitchen is clean and purely plant based. I’d also recommend for the business owner to fix this problem and to add more gluten free options.

Amazing. I have been to one of the best Italian Restaurants but this; Govinda's food is so delicious, for all my chicken lovers; They have got mock meat that literally tastes more like chicken than chicken itself does (haha!) Definitely recommend this place, the staff is really friendly as well. (The dish I would really recommend is their Thai Style spaghetti and Penne Arrabiata)

This is top notch the best Italian food I have tried in the city, by far. This place is the best yet! The place is amazing. Nice environment and surroundings. And full vegan and vegetarian food. The food was super good. Baked toast, Garlic bread is awesome. They should market this stuff as hangover helper, fluffy bread ovened and its the only place in the city you can get it! Lasagna also excellent!! Best salad, good texture, Ravioli cooked perfect. Paapad garlic bread also amazing. Again Pasta alio cooked to perfection! Pasta bolognese is great, i just love Pizza, the flavor was fantstic, crisp crunchy base. This place is five star in my book and run by a super nice guy. LOVE IT AND ALWAYS WILLING TO VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN

It's a delight for a vegetarian. The place serves Italian vegetarian food. Being vegetarian and having an Indian name, brings a lot of Indians who tend to be very noisy. It makes the place too noisy and unpleasant. Other than that, the location, good service are all excellent.

The staff are totally indifferent when you walk in, they awkwardly don't say anything just stare at you, no greetings etc. It could almost make you feel like they're closed or you got the wrong place. But besides that, everything else was great.

  • 4/5 Sean L. 1 year ago on Google
Good pizza , but I was hoping for better. The bread (foccacia, i think) they served free was heavenly and we paid for more to go. The garlic bread was silly. They had a big menu. Staff was friendly. A little pricier than value. Good place to try out once,as you go around bangkok's vegan places, but probably not again.

The ingredients used in the dishes were undoubtedly of the highest quality, as evidenced by the freshness and distinct taste. I was particularly impressed with the way your chefs showcased creativity and innovation while still honoring classic culinary traditions. Every bite was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate, leaving a lasting impression.

The place is like a hidden gem 💎. On our first visit we were a bit skeptical and prejudiced. The food was delicious plus what we liked the most was they were able to incorporate with our dietary restriction with no egg and no onion garlic we still enjoyed a variety of food. We look forward for more visits in near future.

Delicious food! I had the Govinda salad and the ravioli. Sometimes it is hard to find vegetarian options in Asia. So, if you are a vegetarian visitng Bangkok, put this on your must eat list! I asked for a half portion of the salad, as I am one person, and the owner kindly accommodated my request. So, thank you for that! The staff were very friendly.

I usually don’t ever write Google reviews - especially not bad ones since I know how harmful these can be to a business. But what my partner and me have encountered today is simply unacceptable. We ordered vegan pizzas, and after lifting the first slice from the plate, we noticed it was really stringy - too stringy to actually be vegan. I have worked with all kinds of vegan substitute products in a vegan restaurant for four years and never in my life have I ever seen vegan cheese having this consistency. So I asked the friendly staff if it was really vegan and without dairy to which he responded “yes”. I ordered and communicated in Thai by the way, and since this is my second language, there was no possible way of miscommunication or language barrier. We still ate the food while still being a bit suspicious about the cheese but after a small cockroach ran over our table next to our food, we decided we wanted to finish eating and leave as quickly as possible. Here is the thing: my partner is lactose intolerant and I have been vegan for 8 years now. I am writing this review while he is dealing with stomach issues I don’t want to describe in detail now. Even though I am not lactose intolerant, my body is not used to breaking down lactose enzymes anymore which naturally leaves me with stomach ache as well. So one thing is for sure: this restaurant served us dairy and claimed it to be vegan. I don’t mind paying a bit more to support (supposedly) vegan restaurants but the visit was not worth a single Baht of the almost 1.000 THB my partner and me paid for two pizzas, an appetizer and two beverages. We do not recommend this place! The stray cat waiting and sitting outside the restaurant licking and cleaning its fur was probably cleaner than this entire restaurant.
