Mabini Park is well maintained and spacious. It could be greener, but provide enough shade to be a suitable place to chill as one explores the old downtown of Batangas City. At the center is a monument to Application Mabini, one of the brilliant BatangueΓ±os that rose to prominence in Philippine history. There are cafΓ©s and shops in one section of the plaza and the facilities are clean.

A nice little Plaza. It's nice to see there are zumba classes in the mornings and to get some food in the evenings. There's also performances. I just don't know how often.

Not much park amenities. Good for jogging along the perimeter early in the morning. Not much shade during noon and afternoon so not a recommended place to sit on the whole day.

This Dec 2019, the plaza has lots of lights displayed during the night. The place is well guarded and feels safe. Its clean and gets a bit crowded during the night.

Tiny park with more parked cars than people at any given time. Plants are not well maintained. Looks OK when decorated during Christmas. A few old and large trees along the perimeter with a paved open space in the middle with a monument. Annoyingly loud Zumba classes for several hours in the morning, otherwise it's mostly peaceful. No good vantage points for taking photos of the nearby cathedral. Just like Batangas City in general, it's just not well planned park and does not integrate well with its surroundings.

The plaza was clean and very relaxing. Although beside the city roads, the trees provides cool shades for people to sit and relax. It is near the Basilica church.

The place has change big time over the years. I still remember the old times when my lola (grandmother) and I used to visit the plaza every weekends after going to the church. (The plaza is adjacent to a Minor Basilica Parish of Batangas. The plaze used to have grounds for children to play, however, not much now is available. However, it is still good for jogging and small walks, school practices and a small chill and tambay at sunset. Has some flower stores on the sides and a coffee shop which sell local commodities from all over Batanagas/Batangas Province. Love the Suman sa Lihiya from Mindoro. A muat everytime I visits the place.

If planning to go to Batangas City with private vehicle. Immaculate Concepcion Basilica parking lots are available or else you may encounter illegal parking violations on our busy streets.

Need more security and always remind people of social distancing due to covid.

You should visit here during holidays, batangas city fiesta, foundation day, or sublian festival. Specially in the evening. Kids would love it there because of the lights :)

It is not that serene but the tranquility of the plaza makes you calm, trees and various forms of fauna, the open space that has a view of the majestic sunrise allows you to appreciate the beauty of nature.

  • 1/5 Kelvin J. 3 years ago on Google
Social distancing is completely out of the window. No personnel present to enforce safety protocols and absolutely no discipline from the public. Minors wear their masks on their chin, and face shields are placed only on their foreheads. Those of legal age assume that there is no more virus and even walk with their mouths open. They are they textbook definition of mouth breathers. It appears that the local government is doing nothing.

Went here a few days before Christmas and the place was pleasantly set up with parol and lights. A nice stop that boosts the holiday spirit. There were vendors nearby for a quick holiday street food fix.

Visited a few days before Christmas and it was nicely decorated with lights and parol. The nearby church and some small vendors selling holiday eats definitely helps uplift the holiday spirit.

I grew up playing here! This park had gone maaaaany improvements through the years. At present, they made the area well lit in every corner because some kids would do stupid things in the dark. It used to be gloomy but now people come and chill here and eat their bbqs, kwek-kwek, etc. I love it.

(Translated by Google) Very nice to look at, in the evening a few ladies of the night and sellers of illegal substances are there but on the way. But not intrusive. :) (Original) Sehr schΓΆn anzusehen, abends sind dort aber auch ein paar Damen der Nacht und VerkΓ€ufer illegaler Substanzen unterwegs. Aber nicht aufdringlich. :)
