What is this magic?! I was a newbie walking in to order take-out. The gentleman that helped me was nothing but helpful, gracious and understanding! I ended up ordering the taco trio after watching them walk by… they were the best tacos I have had in a LONG time!! I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the menu!! Chela’s you’ve got some magic in you!!

This place was not good. It was not authentic at all. As a Mexican myself this was not it. This is a disgrace to my culture. Torta didn’t have shredded lettuce nor shedded cheese. The green salsa was to watery.

I have been eating 1~2 times every week since mid 2019. The food is absolutely fantastic. But the service quality has been decaying over time. I always order my burrito bowl with extra meat but the meat portion has decreased significantly since 2019. Today was just terrible. My wife's bowl had guac in it when she explicitly excluded it. Meat portion was laughable especially considering the extra 2 dollars per bowl for extra meat. Refer to the photos I attached

Food was great! Prices are so affordable and portions good. I Loved the tamales ! I got a pineapple and cheese tamale. The salsas were very flavorful. Staff very kind. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.

Loved this place. Cute interior if you want to sit. Very speedy takeout if you just walk in and order at the counter. Bomb tacos and great horchata (there’s definitely sweet and condensed milk in there)

All in all I was really disappointed in this Mexican restaurant. The tamales were the worse I've ever had in my entire life. It was weird. There chicken is really dry!!! I love Elotes so I tried one of there's and i couldn't even eat it was sooooo salty omg. Like they just dumped salt in my bowl. The queso was cold and very salty too. Only thing that was good to me was the two AL pastor tacos, that's about it. I wouldn't come back here at all and don't recommend it if you want good food.

Had amazing tacos here. All of them were amazing, none need to be recommended. Just take your time trying them all out. Place is quite casual, you go to the cashier and order what you want. Then they have a table for sauces that someone will help you out with. And then you sit down and wait with your sauces to get the meal soon after at your table. Definitely will be coming back again if I am in the area.

I placed an $80 online order for delivery. Missing two orders of chips, salsa, drinks, also paid extra for sour cream and cheese and was not on our food. I called the restaurant and was told oh driver forgot to grab those items. Would not bring my missing items and said he would reimburse me within 4 days. My meal was ruined. We got our guacamole but no chips. Food was cold, taco bell is better than this place. Unbelievable horrible experience. Beware!!!! Oh he he said I could come get the items and I paid for delivery. I can't beleive people actually gave good reviews on their food. It must be the owners putting in fake reviews. It has to be. There's no way people think this Food is good.

I first visited at least a year ago with my daughter, and I am happy to see they are thriving. The food is fresh and delicious. I appreciate that they offer vegetarian and vegan options as fillings, including a potato & poblano and a veggie option. Guacamole was amazing, too. Everything is clean and the staff is super friendly.

The tacos were good, they use really good corn tortillas, my son got a kids burrito, that was very ordinary, not much flavor, we also got tamales, they were ok, not much meat in the pork or chicken and the flavor was so so, the texture of their tamales is different too, the pineapple tamale was really good tho

Delicious Mexican food! Recommended by folks from Mexico at work as authentic and many Mexican people eating there. I LOVE the Rajas tacos. Great salsas. In warm weather, there’s a nice outdoor patio.

I won’t drive from Cleveland to Ann Arbor just for tamales; but you better believe that when I’m in Ann Arbor, I’m getting tamales from Chela’s!

The place was nice and service prompt, but the food was 3.5/5. We are vegetarian and got all the veggie options - potato taco (best one), black bean taco (ok), green pepper taco (ok) and a fourth veggie taco. Got the cheese tamales which was quite nice. The black bean n rice were disappointing. Overall, while everything seemingly looked good, it lacked a punch of flavor, nor was it hot. I might give them another try n ask for warmer fillings.

I was visiting Ann Arbor and was craving some tacos. I came across this place and thought I'd try it considering the good reviews. Service wise this place was very good. We decided to do takeout as there was limited seating. The workers were friendly. Gave recommendations and were patient with our questions. I like that they offer complimentary salsas, so if you want a bit extra salsa cups you can take some. Coming from Grand Rapids where there are plentiful options for authentic Mexican food, this place was average in terms of food quality at best. Black beans were just boiled, not refried, rice was average, we found a chicken bone in one of the chicken tamales, steak tacos had no outstanding flavor. We added guac + chips and they were good. Standout in my opinion were the salsas, absolutely enjoyed the spicy red sauce, adding the sauce to the taco and tamale made them better. Although this place was lacking authentic Mexican flavors, I can't really knock them for it considering Ann Arbor in general is lacking in this space. Seeing as this is one of the few mexican options in Ann Arbor I will be back and try their other offerings, as I know I will receive great customer service from the staff.

Ordered the breakfast burrito with Chorizo and Guacamole. It came with rice and beans on the side and in the burrito. The burrito didn't really have much flavor and hardly any eggs or guacamole. It does come with sauces on the side so that helps but even the sauces didn't really have much flavor.

Chela’s catered our wedding rehearsal dinner for 60+ people and they were AMAZING! People loved the food and kept commenting on how authentic it was. The staff who came to set up the event were lively and helpful as well. 100% made the right choice going with them.

I had three tacos while visiting. The raja, tilapia and veggie. All were good but needing some seasoning for fuller flavor. Customer service was excellent. Food came out fast. Plenty of indoor and outdoor dining spots but limited parking in the parking lot.
