Michelin Star Quality food, Absolutely beautiful evening at Grand Cru. Compliments to the chef! The food was phenomenal to say the least, the ambience was beautiful and the staff extremely attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant for a meal you won't forget

Nov 2022. Visit here every year during my annual visit to the region. I like my IPAs and the Monsoon IPA from Leeds Brewery did not disappoint. For my starter the Goats Cheese Galette was most enjoyable. However, the Ribeye steak stole the show. I asked for medium rare and it perfectly cooked. Nov 2021. Fabulous restaurant!!! The staff are super helpful and attentive. Menu is very modern, fresh and healthy. Bar has great selection of drinks. Decor is new and upmarket reminding me of a high end cruise ship. All covid measures are being taken including mask wearing by all the staff and extensive wipe down of all tables after use.

This restaurant used to be the village Co-op but you would never know when you're inside. Lovely, tasteful decor, large chandeliers and a decadent ambiance but also with a relaxed feeling, the restaurant and toilets were all spotlessly clean. The staff are so friendly and really take the time to make sure you enjoy your experience. Now onto the food and drink there was plenty of choice across all of the courses and an extensive range of soft and alcoholic drinks. The food we ordered came in a very timely manor and was delicious. The prices were pretty reasonable and we will definitely be back to try the tasting menu.

First time tonight at Grand Cru, gorgeous decor. The staff were fantastic, friendly and so attentive. They couldn't do enough for us. We were a party of 18 and the food was beautiful, such a lovely place and would highly recommend.

Great food, do a small menu but do it well. Not cheap but excellent quality. Staff spot on, attentive but not "in your face". Only criticism is the do not stock a traditional bitter, but the shipyard went down well. Enjoyed it so much forgot to take a photo of pudding. (which was also very good.)

Wanted to go here for ages. It's beautifully decorated with chandeliers and subtle mood lighting . We were offered a chance to get drinks at the bar or take out seats, which we did, and the staff were so lovely. They came with water and menus quickly and gave us the right amount of time to look at the menus. We ordered some wine which was lovely and the food order was taken soon after. The food was delicious, and the starter was huge. I had scallops in a bisque, and the 2 types of bread that came were warm and really spongy and fresh. The main course was cooked perfectly!! And we were too full for pud this time. No starter next time or something smaller!! This was a lovely evening, and we will deffo go back

I have dined at Grand Cru many times, and have not been disappointed once, on the contrary, delighted each time with the quality of the food, the service is warm, friendly and efficient and the environment just adds to what is always an enjoyable way to spend an evening.

Went last night for the first time with friends celebrating their wedding anniversary. A cheerful welcome at the door, even remembering why we were there. All the staff very friendly and good at their duties. All meals were excellent and enjoyable. A lovely evening, highly recommended. Thank you.

Everything from the food, the wine, the cocktails, the staff, the service,, the atmosphere to the attention to detail was outstanding. We will be returning and would recommend to anyone.

We had a fabulous meal, treating my daughter to a belated birthday celebration, with our 8 year old grandson. The level of service and attention by Sharon and her front of house staff is outstanding. My grandson does not eat anything fancy but is a bit of a carnivore! Sharon said the chef could do a small rib eye. It was perfect and he ate the lot. Granted, it was the most expensive of the four meals but he loved the experience and the meal. At the end of the meal a little birthday plate appeared. Lovely place, so glad Sharon and Bernd chose Birkenshaw to set up shop.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal here. The food and the ambience was perfect, we had the rack of lamb and the chicken supreme which were delicious. Our waiter Mark was great but what absolutely made the experience was a waitress/greeter called Marsha. She was very welcoming and friendly when we arrived, she came to see us a few times to check our food and experience was good, recommended foods and cocktails and also kindly sorted out a surprise dessert for my partners birthday as we were celebrating it there that night. She is such a wonderful person, perfect for working in an environment like this around people who really care about their experience! Thank you - we will be back again ASAP! :)

A quality establishment. Enjoyed a fabulous lunch for my mum’s birthday. Staff lovely, food excellent. We were too full for pudding, so, Chef surprised my mum with a beautifully decorated ‘happy birthday’ plate complete with candle embellished mini brownie - a lovely touch.

Visiting for mid week lunch. Opted for the set lunch menu. Great value, great selection and great food. Really warm and inviting atmosphere. Extremely friendly and genuine non invasive service. Went in our support bubble and everything felt safe for the 3 of us including the email checks that reassured us the proprietor took safety seriously. Will definitely visit again. Parkin cake desert was delicious and my top recommendation as also was the onion soup which came plentiful which allowed me to polish of what my wife couldn’t manage to finish herself...shucks, 1.5 starters for me. Yummy.

Just had a beautifully prepared and presented 3 course takeaway Sunday lunch for two. We chose different dishes, and all were exquisite. We shall certainly be back and can't recommend them highly enough. Such a gem on our doorstep!

Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who hasn’t yet been. You’re always greeted with a smile from the very friendly staff and the decor is absolutely beautiful. Some of the nicest meals I have ever had and very reasonably priced too. This is now one of our regulars and every person who we have recommend it to has had the same experience.

Today my husband and I went for lunch, not only is it a beautiful restaurant but the food is exceptional. We both felt very safe in the restaurant so eating out was a pleasure. If you haven’t been yet it really is a must, you can have a very reasonable meal from the lunch menu, or eat from the main menu. You will be greeted by the friendliest staff, who cannot do enough for you whilst dining.

First time visit. Very good food and service although only do Sunday lunch on Sunday, nothing else from the main menu. So it's a smaller menu but if that's what you want then the food is lovely, and the service very good. Healthy portions too! Will be visiting again very soon to sample what else is on offer

We visited last Friday with my mum who hadn’t been able to visit Grand Cru since first lockdown. We all had the three course set menu and it was excellent food for really good venue. Extremely well presented, tasty and provide to us with excellent service. Can’t wait to return! Highly recomemnd

Fantastic service from Sharon and her team. She took time out to show us around the place and made us really welcome. A varied menu with a good wine list too. Our meals, Hake with capers and almonds and the pork tenderloin were delicious, well presented and we will be back. Thank you

Absolutely outstanding food, nowhere this side of Leeds can hold a light to the Grand Cru, its in a league of its own, So glad we found it! We feel like we are "home" at last.

Went for the first time last night we were well impressed. A very warm greeting from Sharon who is an excellent front of house. The food was very good and we were not rushed which was good. Quality decor and the lighting just right. Good not to have to travel to leeds for a night out. We will deffo go again. We also thanked the chefs for their hard work. We visited for the first time tonight and it certainly won’t be our last visit. Lovely from start to finish. Beautiful decor, friendly service and fabulous food.

First visit since it's opening, with my family. Friendly, helpful staff and a great choice on the menu. Very impressed with menu options and the accompanying drinks list. Looking forward to a return visit - hopefully sometime soon.

If you have never been, you don't no what you are missing. The food is exceptional and they have a excellent wine list,. IF YOU CAN'T, TREAT YOURSELF ONCE IN A WHILE YOU DON'T NO WHAT YOU ARE MISSING.

We had been wanting to try the GC since it opened; after the lock down on 04/09/20 we went for a 60th Birthday meal; but I was very very surprised, I did not witness any social distancing from the any of the staff (I did expect maybe mask or face shield, or even gloves from serving staff), there were no visible signs of any precautions other than a hand sanitiser in the entrance. As a business owner I do understand businesses such as restaurants need to reopen and get their staff back off furlough and get customers back in in order to function, but we need to be responsible how we do that. I do know that when bringing meals and drinks staff will have to have access to the table, but there was complete lack of any social distance when taking orders, I would expect staff to wear masks at the least. Where I was sat the tables were closer than I would have expected, on exiting we were inches away from people sat at the tables in the centre of the restaurant. I did feel rather uncomfortable and unsafe during my experience at the restaurant. Now regarding the food: it took a bit longer than I would have expected to wait, my lamb dish was just about warm when served, under normal circumstances I would have mentioned this and returned it, but in this case as all the meals had been served, I didn't want to have to wait for my meal to be re-heated or re-done, it was edible, otherwise I would definitely have pointed it out. I have to be honest and say I don't think my meal was value for money. Despite what I have said, we had a good evening because of the company we were with rather than the restaurant experience. The restaurant may be unhappy with my review but it is my honest experience.

Well spaced tables very clean. Its interior is lovely but the meal itself let it down. Nothing special bog standard goats cheese starter followed by chicken supreme - veg side order extra and creme caramel to finish unfortunately the sugar had burnt on top and the caramel resembled scrambled eggs! Then the bill came over priced for what we had.

Fabulous restaurant! Try the crab bisque, it's to die for.

Beautiful restaurant, don’t go as often as I’d like but for a special occasion or just a treat it’s a must , Sharon is always welcoming and the staff are lovely and friendly as for the food it’s gorgeous every time and beautifully presented as you would expect ( love the music too ) can’t wait to visit again in march for our anniversary 🥳🥳🥳
