My eldest absolutely loves it here. The Lafferty’s are great with the kids - they give them the support, guidance and most importantly the kind discipline they need to succeed not only in kick-boxing but in life. He’d go every day if he could. Looking forward to seeing his little brother start there in a few years. Thanks for all you do.

Phoenix Martial Arts is the place to be if you want to learn self-defence, if you want to improve your emotional, physical or mental health/well-being. I have loved every second I have spent at this academy! My confidence has grown incredibly all thanks to Phoenix, absolutely amazing academy! My Grandson started here in February this year. His concentration has improved tremendously. He absolutely loves the classes and is so excited on Mondays and Thursdays. It's not just about self defence it's fitness, fun, discipline, concentration and a fabulous set of instructors. Every member of staff are amazing people who put 110% effort into making the lessons great for everyone involved. Karate seems to be for anyone interested. Any child fits in as different teaching styles are adapted to encourage every child to achieve their best. There's no pressure it's all at the child's pace. So glad my Grandson is part of this academy.

My wife and daughters attend Phoenix, the staff are very friendly and welcoming with a variety of fitness activities and seminars as well as karate and kickboxing training, progress and grade up your belts at your own pace, make friendships as well as help with discipline, my kids love coming here 💪👍

Having decided that sitting on the sofa most nights was not a good thing, I signed up for a trial with Phoenix Martial Arts and I’m so glad I did. Over the last 4 months I have improved my fitness and lost a little weight due to being more active, in addition I have gained self confidence and my white and red belts in Karate. The team at Phoenix are welcoming, friendly, supportive and helpful so my journey into martial arts has been less daunting than I thought and I look forward to my twice weekly workouts. I recommend this Academy.

We started my 8yo son here a couple of months ago, after seeing an offer on Facebook. He loved it immediately, and feedback from one of his trainers, Mrs Lafferty, was that he has a natural talent for Karate. Over Easter, our lad's behaviour went a bit sideways and we didn't want to stop him going to Phoenix, but we also didn't want to reward unacceptable behaviour with something he enjoyed. I messaged the Phoneix Knottingley page, and was invited to a discussion with Mrs Lafferty, our son, and us, about his behaviour. She was amazing!!!!! Backed us up completely. Told us they could delay gradings, not let him compete, have a report for teachers to sign to allow him to progress. This really hit home with him, and for an organisation to support us as a family in correcting a child's behaviour at home and school, is just fantastic. Our boy responded by pulling his socks up, going above and beyond at both school and home. Mrs Lafferty is not just an incredible trainer, she genuinely cares about the children she coaches and their families, the training doesn't stop when you go down the stairs to go home. We love the support, coaching and opportunities Phoenix Knottingley gives our boy, so much so, that we've also started our 4yo twin girls with Ninja Tykes. Usually headed by Mr Lafferty, who is fantastic with them!!! Training a class of tiny tots for half an hour is no mean feat. They aren't just learning basic foundations to progress on to karate, they learn important life lessons - fire safety, stranger danger, as well as discipline, focus, positive reinforcement and of course, the fun stuff - karate! My other half and I wholeheartedly recommend Phoenix Knottingley. Our short experience over the last few months has been nothing short of impressive. We have mainly had contact with trainers Mr and Mrs Lafferty, and cannot thank them enough for taking on 3 of our little army, their unwavering support, and their coaching. We feel very much part of the Phoenix Knottingley family!!! If your child/ren is looking for an activity that is wholly inclusive, to give them confidence, focus, support, opportunity for progression which rewards hard work and good decision making, with whole family support, top class training and a sense of humour, Phoenix Martial Arts Knottingley is the place you need to contact.
