I came here with my boyfriend for a meal on a Sunday. The scenery is lovely and it looks very nice. I am quite a fussy eater, so I look at the menu before going to any restaurant and pick out my food. As it was a Sunday, they were using a reduced menu which didn't have anything that I would eat on (and I didn't want a full roast). The waitress was lovely though and they were still able to whip me up a Fish and Chips. However, the lemonade that I ordered was NOT lemonade at all, it was practically 95% tonic water and I couldn't drink it. They didn't have anything else that I'd drink so I just had water. The meal (although I was so grateful that they even made me it) tasted ashy and damp. The chips had a weird combination of herbs on. This probably sounds like a pedantic, fussy review, but it's completely down to personal preference. I just wouldn't eat here again.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my wife. We selected the vegan sharing platter and couple of sides. Were full but had room to share a desert, a vegan frangipane which was by far the best vegan desert we've had in ages. Knocks the socks off the other chain restaurants that can only manage salted caramel, sorbet, or no vegan ice cream options. Bravo, Botanist! All was enjoyable and the service was excellent.

This is a lovely venue, and we met up with a friend for lunch here. It was fairly quiet so for me, a person who is Autistic, that was ideal. That's where the positive ends. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our food. Very expensive for very small portions. The sharing kebab when it arrived at our table, we thought was for just 1 person and another would be on its way out. Alas, this was not the case. For £32, we expected more than 2 pieces of chicken, beef and shrimp each. And 1 flat bread to share between 2 was a little cheap. I am also not a fan of restaurants automatically adding a service charge. That is for us, the diners, to decide at the end of the meal. I appreciate that times are tough financially, and restaurants have high costs with staff, business rates, electricity......... but charging high prices and not delivering value for money is not the solution. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this to friends and we will not return.

The food was amazing and our waitress was so accommodating! It is pricey but so are most of the places in this area! Reccomend booking before going because it is pretty busy! We got the plant based burgers and a hanging meat free meatball kebab! The sweet chilli fries are quite sweet fyi! Loved the mac and cheese! Would definitely go again!

We had Sunday lunch to celebrate our granddaughter’s birthday and although the food was good the service was disappointingly slow. We had to get the server’s attention after 45 minutes to order our desserts. She was looking after too many tables to give us the attention that we have had previously at The Botanist. We had also alerted the restaurant that it was a special occasion but nothing was mentioned or done to acknowledge this.

Pros: Lovely atmosphere with the xmas decorations & the fireplace. No complaints with the service and cocktail selection was great. Cons: All parties found the meats in the kebab selection dry and tough (prawns, chicken and lamb). It was too tough and the fries where way too oily for anyone's liking which meant half of the food was wasted, leaving us still hungry. The onion petals & fried mushrooms where very average, again way too oily.

We had a lovely lunch with family at The Botanist in Marlow! They cater for both vegans and non-vegans, which was great for our group. I had the hanging pork belly kebab and it was delicious. I will definitely go back!

The service here is really good. Always helpful personnel. It is a fun place to eat, especially ordering the hanging kebabs which is their speciality.

It was so cold inside The Botanist restaurant. We kept our coats on the whole time. We ordered our food (hanging Turkey kebabs) which was ok but got so cold as the plate we were given to put the food on was cold. My friend asked for more gravy (she had to go & find a waitress which took 5 minutes to ask for it) & gravy never arrived & she'd finished the cold food by then . Staff were unattentive & too busy on their computers. It could be such a great restaurant but needs staff training & a lot more heating.

We arrived on time for our booking (a table of 6 at 6.15pm) and we were shown to a table with 5 seats. We couldnt physically fit the 6 of us around the table so asked to be moved. We were told it wasnt possible. The waitress then went away to check again when we told her this was unacceptable. She returned to say the manager said there were no other tables. We could see a few so asked for the manager. He came and said he would go away and see what he could do. He eventually found us a table (6.40pm) that was still tight, but at least we could sit. He apologised and we set about ordering our food. The food was ok but not at the standard that it usually is (eg. The cheese was not melted all the way through on the starter and the kebabs were dry) so we were disappointed. No sooner had we finished our mains, a grumpy looking waiter brought dessert menus and barked at us that we needed to hurry up because they needed the table back. This was 7.45. We had been seated for just over an hour at this point. He then walked back and forth past our table before telling us to order desserts if we wanted them. Suffice to say we declined and asked for the bill. He made us feel too rushed and uncomfortable. He gave us the bill and then we waited for an age for somebody to take payment. Eventually we were able to settle the bill (with a ridiculous service charge, considering the terrible service we received) and as we were getting our things together to leave the table, the manager came over and asked us to vacate the table again! Whilst we understand that the festive period is beyond busy in hospitality, it was not our fault that the team a) tried to seat 6 people on a 5 top and had to move them somewhere more suitable, b) we ran over our 8.15 cut off, as we were actually only seated 25 minutes into our time. This wasn't our first visit to The Botanist Marlow, we have all had fantastic experiences before, but my guests and myself were extremely disappointed.

Booking for two. Were seated quickly despite it being a very busy. Waiting staff very attentive throughout meal. We ordered wings for starters and hanging kebabs for main. All very tasty, portions a bit on the small side the fries were on the cold side but put this down to how busy they were. Didn’t put me off finishing them! We stuck around in the bar for the live music and the staff kindly came to find me returning my scarf I had left behind. Overall would highly recommend. Food would have been 4 star had there have been more and the fries were hot. I also found the cocktails were very sweet.

Booked for dinner with friends who were visiting us, we were seated very quickly but waited a very long time for drinks. We ordered food at the same time as drinks and we were still waiting for food 1.5 hours later. People who were seated after us were provided their orders before us, including people who ordered similar dishes to our table (roast dinners). The waitress was lovely but kept assuring us our food was on its way, she told us 10 minutes and 30 minutes later, nothing had arrived. Someone came out and told us they were out of roast potatoes and offered us alternatives. This would normally be fine but it told us that after an hour they had only just started preparing our food. After 1.5 hours we made the decision to leave. Incredibly poor, especially as we had a young child with us and had to leave at 9 to go find alternative food for a hungry child.

Great service and food. Being coeliac, good gluten free option.

Restaurant was very pretty but extremely loud with the noise from all the youngsters in the bar as well as the very loud guitars and singers. There were four of us in our group and we could hardly hear each other talk and had to shout at each other. The next day I had a sore throat and hardly any voice. I would not go to the Botanist again on a Saturday as it’s obviously for teenagers getting drunk. Maybe it would be worth a visit during a week day lunch time.

Had the roast pork belly and the cookie dough dessert my only regret was that I couldn't finish everything. Will be waddling home for a well-earned nap and I will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

I had a lovely afternoon at 'The Botanist Bar' My friend and I chose a table at the front of the bar with open windows, giving it an indoor outdoor feel, perfect for people watching and vintage car spotting if that's your thing. Really nice chilled atmosphere for a sunny afternoon. The bar man recommended a classic margarita (perfectly made), We snacked on spicy fries and calamari.

Greeted by a beautiful exterior we knew this would be a nice place to enjoy dinner. And well it was - mostly...the food itself was tasty but portion size was very average especially the hanging kebabs which are one of their champion dishes. One thing they handled well was allergies as one of our party members had many. We were able to speak to the chef prior to arriving and he informed us of all the things that he was and wasn't able to eat. Prices were pretty standard across the board as far as English pubs go, that is to say still pretty expensive. They gave us a pleasant outdoor seating area for our dog which was a nice touch as well. So far so good but ultimately the lack of availability of quite a few dishes and drinks was pretty poor. Lamb and chicken and chorizo hanging kebabs, Caesar salad, cheesy garlic bread and more were unavailable. Service was top class.

Popped into The Botanist for a bite to eat at lunch time over the weekend. It's got great ambiance, accommodating staff and the food was brought out swiftly. Delicious cocktails and the hot plate was divine. My only qualm would be that they provide a finger bowl as the prawns are still in the shell. I love deshelling prawns and getting my fingers dirty but a bowl with warm water and a slice of lemon to rinse off would have gone a long way!! The pork crackling seemed never ending and oh so moreish!! Definitely a place I'd love to visit again as their burgers looked particularly appetizing!
