Absolutely beautiful place, perfect day out. I visited with a 7y old and 4y old. We visited the cafe, bookstore, orangery and adventure playground. We ended up spending a long time in the playground, it was brilliant and the train was a lovely addition! There are so many beautiful spots to sit and have a picnic or watch the deer. We will definitely be back hopefully many more times to explore some more and actually visit the mansion as we ran out of time.

Beautiful place with a fantastic open air park for the kids. And an awsome train which is affordable for everyone. The house is beautiful inside and out. The adjacent gardens wood and lake make fantastic walks. Would recommend for anyone plenty to do and run off some steam. And lots of beautiful areas to explore

We have only just joined the National Trust, why have we not done it years ago. Its the bargain of the century access to hundreds of unbelievable amazing places like Belton house. The house was incredible, I was mesmerised by the quality of the building its architecture and furniture. The staff and volunteers were beyond friendly. If this is the measure of visits to come I just cant wait to get out there and soak it all in. If your not a member, sign up you wont regret is all I can say.

We didn't visit the House, only the gardens and the cafe. The 5 stars are for the cafe staff who are superb. Every one of them was cheerful, friendly and helpful. The stars could also be for the grounds which are lovely but you have to leave them if you want to walk your dog off a lead. The ranger we met suggested a place where we could go and that was excellent, too. I'm looking forward to returning later on this year (2022) and seeing inside the House.

A wonderful day out enjoyed from one moment to the next. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. The parkland area was managed well, providing stunning views, with many marked paths leading wonderful and relaxing walks around the grounds. The staff and volunteers were exceptionally helpful and friendly, taking timeout to ensure that everyone had a great and well informed visit. A visit here is highly recommend, even with a large amount of people were about it never once felt crowded. Some covid measures were still in place, such as encouraging mask wearing in many of the indoor areas and limited numbers of people allowed in the house at a time to help keep people feel comfortable by social distancing.

Brilliant place and all the staff there were super pleasant! The house was magnificent and the grounds breathtaking. Definitely worth a visit! The maze, orangery and train ride were all cool, but if you have kids the play area was the best bit for them! Some really good and challenging adventure frames.

Absolutely loved exploring the grounds of Belton House. Spent the whole day there! The grounds are so beautiful and well kept. And was so lovely to see that you can picnic anywhere. Rent sporting equipment such as badminton. And the lakes were so peaceful. Managed to spot a couple of kingfishers on the lakes. Will definitely be coming back often and enjoying these stunning, well kept gardens and grounds and also venturing into the house.

The house is spectacular with being trimmed up for Christmas. We also went to the light spectacular it was rather muddy but the displays were brilliant. Enjoyed every minute.

We went to a Christmas event at Belton house which was in the evening. In the daytime we went around the house and it was really nice and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. One room in particular had cosy sofas and chairs and Christmas reading books for children so their parents could sit and read to them. In the evening Belton had lots of Christmas lights..see the photos.

Yet again the National Trust excels itself, with Belton House being an exceptional example of Restoration architecture. It is surrounded by formal gardens, land including a lake and deer park. To keep you refreshed there are a number of food outlets (one focusing on ice cream). Car parking on site can be challenging in the winter months when it gets a tad muddy. But I believe this is being improved. I've also spotted a large child's play area to keep the youngsters entertained. Plenty of space to find some peace and quiet and enjoy a nice walk.

This pace is amazing! We took our 12 Yr old. There's a mini train ride. Acres of climbing apparatus and park equipment. Climbing trees, woodland walks, art, sculptures, acres of beautiful gardens ♥️ Superbly maintained grasslands for picnics, cafes, and coffee huts. Superbly maintained toilets everywhere. A huge conservatory with amazing planting, A gift shop. You need a full day to see everywhere, and of course the house, we're going again next week😂😍

When we arrived there was a long queue to get in but the grounds are extensive and when we were looking at the gardens it wasn't crowded at all. We were impressed by the pretty Italian Garden and conservatory with ferns and tropical trees and plants. It was first private conservatory of its type in England! There's a fishing lodge on a lake and a boat house overlooking the river. All pretty impressive. We went on a Tuesday and the house is open Wednesday to Sunday but there's lots to see outside.

Beautiful place to spend the day, so much to see and enjoy. From the fountain and the orangery to the house and the bedroom in which Mr Darcy wrote a certain letter to Elizabeth Bennett, you're in for a great day! The stable cafe is very interesting and pleasant, the food (as always with the National Trust) is expensive but delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a new adventure playground and the park to explore too. Enjoy!

A very nice county house. We had a lovely tour with help from the guides local knowledge. A long walk around the gardens and lakes made it a wonderful day.

What an absolutely stunning house with the National Trust. It is a bit different in architecture from others in the region of the UK. It’s gardens are beautiful for a stroll but you really must make an effort to do a tour of the house.

Light trail is wonderful treat for your eyes. It's an experience you should have. Kids have some rides too n plenty of food options. Great lights and designs...a big wow.

Stunning house and beautiful garden. A day trip venue for all ages. Families can have meals at the cafe. Children can play the rope game or at the playground or the mini train. Other options include going for walks at the two lakes. Don't forget about the big bench, greenhouse, maze, and church building.

Just as I remembered it from 2 years ago ... without the rain. The pasties are enormous and tasty, . Very friendly staff. The gardens are very well maintained. Topiary amazing. Found loads of insects round the lake. Liked the statue walk to the BIG seat. Lovely day.

A great location to visit for any group of people from young couples to old families. The grounds are beautiful, with fields, wooded areas, play parks for kids, and historic buildings to explore. The grounds often host events throughout the year, many of which (such as the Christmas lights display) are well worth attending. If you live nearby, it makes a National Trust membership a worthwhile investment.

Had a lovely family day out here in October, it’s a huge estate with plenty of parking and only a few minutes walk to the main entrance. There’s plenty for the kids to do. There’s a huge adventure playground with a ride on train (small fee), a soft play and various spots with activities to do. There’s a few cafe/restaurants on site as well as an cream parlour. The grounds are beautiful too and the kiddies and adults all enjoyed strolling around them. It’s dog friendly too. Would definitely recommend a day out here, we booked in advance but didn’t really need to but i imagine it gets booked up in the warmer months.

A real surprise. We were staying nearby and were looking for somewhere to visit before a long drive the next day. The house was closed (we visited in February) but the grounds were beautiful. The snowdrop walk was impressive and took us on a ramble down to a lake. The gardens looked good despite the season. Ensure you visit the cafe, a good selection of cakes and hot food. A thoroughly good trip... we even saw the deer under the trees!

Our family absolutely love Belton House. The staff are always amazingly friendly and very well organised. There's plenty to keep kids and adults of all ages entertained. From blowing off steam in the adventure playground, to a relaxing walk around the gardens and boat house.

Absolutely amazing! I came here with my son and Nan, we didn't go in the house just around the gardens, orangery and of course the adventure playground which is huge! I deffinately reccomend, there's so much space and it really is beautiful.

A place you can spend a day exploring. The cafe is excellent, with a nice selection of food and drink. Plenty of toilets. Shop with plants and a normal selection of gifts. The gardens are incredible, full of colour even on a dull day. The park land is extensive with sheep and deer. You can't walk to the tower now but you can still wonder around the grounds. Play area for the kids

What a delightful NT property. The house is great to go round and the formal gardens are lovely. We used our visit to break a long journey south, but will make a point of having a longer visit in the future. Well worth a visit.

Large country house, home to the Brownlow family over the centuries. Guided wander through the house with a house guide brochure, which you can either put back or purchase if you so wish. Knowledgeable guides in every room will fill you in on the history and quirky facts about the family and the various rooms. Nice Italian garden and orangery plus a large parkland you can explore. There's a nice church but it was out of bounds on the day we were there. Nice cafe with outside seating and old stables converted into seating area.

Had a lovely visit here which started with a warm welcome and a very tasty lunch! We then had a look around the house which is huge with loads of rooms. The rooms were well presented with loads of original features. There is some lovely gardens which are best viewed in spring or summer. There is also a nice walk around the lakes which is around 3 miles.

More like a 4.5 Had a lovely autumnal day out with my sister and her family. The adventure playground area in the woods looked like a lot of fun for the children. My niece was most excited for the little train ride. We spent a good amount of time in that area then we moved on to the house tour. The house was well-preserved and really interesting to explore. The decor and furnishings were amazing to look at. I loved all the details on the ceilings and walls. Also there was a lot of original art pieces. Anybody with an interest in history would love it in there. We visited the gardens and the orangery which were also lovely. We lastly went to the indoor play area which my niece had lots of fun playing in. Us adults relaxed and enjoyed a coffee in the cafe area whilst she played. (They do give you a one hour time limit but it’s more than enough time). Notice for people with prams: most of the place is pram/ wheelchair friendly but the house is not. We had to leave the pushchair outside but my nephew can walk so it was fine. Also in the garden areas you do have to go round to go to the ramps as there are a few steps to get down/ up. It’s also not possible to go into the orangery with a pram.

Excellent day out for families and couples like ourselves. Lovely gardens to walk around with fallow deer to spot and wildlife on the lakes. The Mansion House self tour was great too with National Trust volunteers to ask about the history and heritage.

There is so many things to love about this place. But what stands out for me is their cafe/restaurant which was the estates stables converted into the visitors dining area. It well and truly big , spacious with a lot of individual coves big enough to accommodate large groups of 8-10 . From the building to the garden and grounds there is so much to explore for families, children and people on wheels. If you are lucky to be approached by the free roaming reindeers in the park or even out in the car park count yourself lucky. Keep still and enjoy their presence.

Superb grounds. Well tended gardens with lots of colour. Lovely orangery filled with tropical plants. Walks through open grassland or meander down the River Witham. Pop and see the large lakes. Lots of wildlife to see.

What a fantastic property and grounds. A very typical English country house with wonderful views out to the grounds. A spectacular garden and greenhouse, such a joy to visit and explore. All NT staff from car park, house and all amenities were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. A great day out for all the family.
