West Lancashire Health Centre

General hospital Walk in clinic Urgent care center

😠 Avoid, avoid, avoid. The worst hospital I have ever been to. I went there after a snowboarding accident in Manchester (Chill Factore) and I knew I had broken my elbow (you could tell by the swelling and the red dots all over my arm). They took an x-ray after leaving me for hours in agony without any... People often mention staff, hospital, people, care,

I don't normally leave a bad review but people need to be aware of the neglect that happened to my mother here Not enough parking spaces - people driving round & round panicking that they're going to be late for their appointment because they can't park. I sent my elderly mother in for her B12 jab because there were no parking spaces free, I waited in the car for a space to become free. But then gave it up for somebody who was circling round looking for a space. Meanwhile my 83 year old mother was left in the waiting room for over three quarters of an hour! The B12 is a quick injection. I got so worried that I tried to ring the reception, my calls got answered but only for a recording telling me to try ringing later, as soon as the message was over the calls got ended! Eventually a call was answered but this person was at a different site (Formby) - she deserves 5 starts because she did all she could to fund out if my mum was ok. Initially she tried ringing - no answer. She too was worried now because the system confirmed my mum had been book in nearly an hour ago. Finally she said the only option left was to use an emergency texting service, she said she'd call me as soon as she got a reply..... The lady called my back a few minutes later, at the same time my mum appeared at the door to come out. My mum had been totally ignored, even though there were loads of staff milling around (and some of these people had looked at her wondering why she was still sitting there) NO ONE checked until the emergency text came through. Apparently there was a sudden flurry of activity and my was called into a room to have the injection We all have our off days but this was multiple people who let her down. She was badly shaken when she came out and she felt poorly and shaky for the rest of the day Very distressing for both of us

Avoid, avoid, avoid. The worst hospital I have ever been to. I went there after a snowboarding accident in Manchester (Chill Factore) and I knew I had broken my elbow (you could tell by the swelling and the red dots all over my arm). They took an x-ray after leaving me for hours in agony without any pain relief. Two of their inept staff said that there was a “shadow on the bone” and sent me home. Most other places would have taken a second x-ray to be certain. I returned a week later to be told that two of their best radiographers had also reviewed the x-ray and thought the same thing. 13 weeks later I travelled to a physiotherapist at Southport hospital, he took one look at my arm and asked if I had been given an MRI or a CT scan, I told him no and he refused to give me any treatment until I had. Thank goodness for that man!! Long story short, I had broken the coronoid process and had grade two ligament tears in the medial and lateral ligaments. I had elective surgery a year (!!) later and my elbow has never been the same since. It’s taken me so long to write this review as I was actually pursuing a case against this inadequate hospital with my solicitor. Please, go to a better hospital with more competent staff. As a result of their inadequacy, I was left in agony for 13 weeks and told to move the elbow and do all manner of painful things with it. They were also super rude in the hospital and I was always left waiting for hours. I called them so many times and never once received a call back. I don’t believe that the NHS runs this walk in centre either, I’m sure it is privately run by HCRG (Virgin healthcare). Thankfully I live in Germany now, with a healthcare system that works and I feel so bad for the people of the UK with such incompetent healthcare professionals.

Attended recently on advice of my health care professional, reception staff polite and friendly as was the triage nurse, sadly that's when things deteriorated. I was seen, not by a doctor but by a 'clinical specialist' who did not introduce himself by name, only by his title. He was very uncomplimentary about the HCP who referred me and proceeded to inform me why my referral here was inappropriate. Arrogant, condescending, dismissive and unhelpful would adequately describe his attitude, he seemed to resent the fact that I had the audacity to attend the unit at all. His report that was sent to my GP was inaccurate on a number of counts and did not reflect what I had said during the meeting. Needless to say I went away having received no help or positive advice whatsoever and God forbid that if I ever have need to attend here again I will try to ensure I am not seen by this unpleasant individual.

I went on Tuesday afternoon feeling absolutely awful. The staff were really amazing, very kind, caring and understanding which helped make a bad situation better. Thank you so much. Ended up going back 2 further times, waiting time in the second was 3 hours and the third 30 mins. Both times the staff were outstanding, especially the doctor on friday afternoon 1 July 2022. He was so caring and friendly that he managed to not only help me, but make me feel he cared and loves his job too. So again, thank you! NHS💟

Over worked and understaffed. Due to being unwell over the weekend and having to attend this service its was made clear within seconds how short staffed the service was. Receptionist was over worked and constantly questioned about things beyond her pay grade. Unfortunately due to a patient being sent from 111 who was clearly severly unwell the service ground to a holt as the very few nurses had to attend to an emergency with this patient. Staff politely asked patients to be seen elsewhere as there was going to be a large delay. Patients were rude. Staff were clearly upset and deflated by the situation. Turning this urgent care centre back to a walk in and getting rid of the call back triage was a huge mistake. Treatment was non existant due to the emergency, staff shortages didnt make it easier or safer and people need to realise that the staff here are human and the nhs is zero tolerance to abuse. Please bring back the telephone system, this will save waiting times, protect staff and patients safely and ensure that services are treating patients safely within their means.

I attended the walk-in with a suspected ankle/foot fracture - I had an assessment, X-Ray and results all done in about 3hrs. Everyone was friendly, the centre was clean and quiet. Given the current situation with the NHS, everyone was doing a fantastic job.

Went to get a check up because was in really bad pain with my tonsils / throat was basically just rushed out of there told to take painkillers and if I get any worse come back the doctors which wasn’t any help whatsoever as I knew I was really bad , come back to another Doctors 2 days later and was told I had pus all over my throat and if I left it any longer I would’ve ended up in hospital so thank you ormskirk walk in centre for the boss check up clearly don’t care at all Was rushed out without a proper check up could’ve resulted in me being in hospital 🤦🏻‍♂️
