City of Oxford Rowing Club Bar & Cafe - What a little gem! I passed this place on a Friday evening, it was close to my hotel. I dropped in for a few beers and was delighted to find they make the most amazing Pizzas - Al Forno! These pizza are every bit as good as the ones I enjoy in Italy... the base perfectly thin and crispy... that lovely wood-fired taste... quality ingredients... perfection! I'm both pleased and displeased I don't live near to this cafe... pleased because I'd get as fat as a house eating pizza several times a week! Displeased because I can't find anywhere as good where I live! The husband and wife team that run the place are very friendly and offer a great service. It's a little quiet in the evenings (which I prefer, because I'm a curmudgeon โ˜บ) but it had only just opened to the public when I visited - I'm sure it'll be very popular once word gets around! I can't wait to visit next time I'm in Oxford!

Went here pre-lockdown for Salsa club and is a great venue for it. Cosy yet spacious with a sizable bar and a balcony for smokers. Drinks were more varied than usual, and we weren't tripping over ourselves for space while dancing. Quite high uo but not as much of a challenge as it looks. Usually busy in term time with rowers and seems well used. Hope it survives & thrives post lockdown.

Fabulous food in a lovely location. Great staff and an excellent menu. We called in whilst walking the Thames River path and ate a cracking meal with awesome service. Would recommend ๐Ÿ‘

Incredibly rude river, Marshalls! As a professionaly working skipper, I navigate the regatta stretch on a regular basis during this weekends royal regatta. I attempted my very best to cooperate with the marshals in order to allow for the races to go ahead, despite this being an active hindrance on my self . My repayment for my patience and goodwill. Was to be repeatedly shouted at by Marshalls, who were both not paying attention when it mattered and , seemingly had no understanding of the river. This really saddened me and disappointed me as members of the river community. It is important for us to cooperate and understand each otherโ€™s different needs and uses of the river. The city of Oxford marshals have no regard for any of the other river users, and rather than being grateful for the cooperation in stead to use it as an opportunity to take out their frustrations On us! whilest i understand they have a โ€˜ legalโ€˜ right to enforce these rules due to a historical Bylaw ( that could be ignored due to its historical nature and its contradictory nature to real Morden laws) this aside, regardless of the legality is it too much to ask for simple courtesy? I would also like to add Regardless of the legality of the races them selves, I witnessed multiple Speedboats going at least four times the legal speed limit of the river! This only leaves me to question whether the river coads were purposely being ignored or simply havenโ€™t been taught ? There was point where they almost caused one of their oun Rowers to collide with the boat I was skippering at the time due the the large amount of wash created by the extremely large out bord to the speed boat ( whilest obviously speeding). Just one example of dangerous boting, I witnessed throughout this regatta. Overall, extremely disappointed by this regatta, I was actually looking forward to the event, being a fan of the sport of rowing and a previous rower my slef and I would like to clarify, do not blame the individual rowers, nor the team to participated, but rather the por, organisational skills incompetence as well as outright aggression I experienced from those organising the envent! This is a PERSONAL STAMENT and is NOT Affiliated to any organisation

Great place to enjoy the quintessential oxford rowing experience. Sit on the balcony, eat pizza and watch the world row by.

I know nothing of the club but go every year to see the bumps. Each boat trys to bump the one in front to gain points. A lovely day out if the weather's fine, and it's free to watch. It's usually near the end of May and goes on for four days, but look it up on the net

Could do with a deep clean, more bar staff for function events and consideration for the disabled
