I've got a busy life and a stressful job (haven't we all), so when I get the chance, I like to treat myself to a little bit of relaxation therapy. In the past, I've tried a float tank experience, reiki and spa days, but today was my first taste of a “Gong bath” or sound healing. I'm not going to lie; I was a bit unsure of what to expect because it wasn't my intention to have a gong bath today. I was only passing by Maitri and popped in because they were having an open day, and I wanted to have a nosey at what was going on. After a chat with Noema about the benefits of sound healing, I was really intrigued, and before I knew it, I was lying on the therapy table, tucked up with a blanket over me, emersed in the vibrations from the gong. I swear to God within 10 minutes, I must have been fast asleep, but I was subconsciously aware of the treatment, if that makes sense? At the end of the session (and I’m not exaggerating here), I felt reborn and had no aches or pains whatsoever. It was an amazing experience and totally unexpected. So much so, I wanted to come home and write this review. If you've never heard of a gong bath or have been meaning to try one, then my advice is to book a session with Noema. She's really knowledgeable about the benefits of the therapy and I think because she's Spanish and has the accent it adds to the experience, making it even more special. I am sitting here now two hours after my session and I still feeling energised and great. I am 100% going back for another session in a couple of weeks. Thanks, Noema.

I love this place! Today I had the spring offer with Sharon and came out with glowing skin and feeling lovely and relaxed. It’s the attention to detail and warm, friendly staff that make this place so special. The heated bed and towel, the personal message written for me and the little sample of oil were lovely extra touches. Sharon has got magic hands and a nurturing, kind energy that makes you feel you are in the safest of hands. Absolutely fantastic, 5* treatment, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. X

Just had an amazing sound bath experience with Noema. Very relaxing and took me to a an incredibly happy place & got rid of all negative energy that was floating around me. Highly recommend trying this out. Noema is very approachable & highly passionate towards gong 🙏

Today I received a beautiful, relaxing massage from Sharon, the minute you walk into the reception the relaxing music the smells of the oils start you on your journey. Sharon is experienced and I have a few treatments already with her, she enjoys her work which is quite evident, I also brought my 18 year old granddaughter for her 1st massage with Sharon also to start her on her journey, thank you Sharon looking forward to future treatments xx

I booked a neck, shoulder and back massage at Maitri online on a bit of a whim, and I'm so glad I did. I was made to feel very welcome from the minute I stepped in. I suffer with bad muscle tension and knots in my neck/back and Claire worked them all out, no problem. She puts you at ease and is very knowledgeable. I will defo be back for a sports massage. This place is just what Wavertree High Street needs.

Had a massage last week and skin polish, it was amazing and the staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable, I've always been nervous about trying something like this as the self confidence kicks in but I needn't of worried with Maitri as they are professional, respectable and make you feel at ease. A wonderful find! - I have been working from home and my neck and back were telling the tale! I have had a number of treatments with Sharon - who has worked wonders with her massage techniques and use of aromatherapy oils. The range of treatments is great- including acupuncture as well as all the beauty treatments. Getting a bottle of the oil to take home to continue the treatment is a brilliant idea - and all the ingredients are high quality. They listen to what you need and work to your needs and have excellent customer service. I am delighted to have found them and walk away completely relaxed - I have on a couple of occasions been that chilled out I find it difficult to find my way out of the building! :-)

Me and two of my friends had a massage here for my hen. The girls were amazing, we had food, a little drink and were made to feel so welcome and encouraged to be ourselves and have fun. The massage itself was unreal, the best one I've ever had. I will certainly be going back and encourage everyone to try! Thank you so much :)

I was really impressed with the care and attention I received at my facial appointment at Maitri in Liverpool. The team welcomed me in with a friendly smile and great chat. First Impressions count so much! Sarah was very tentative and thorough on explaining with detail what she was doing and what products she was using on my face, which is really cool because Maitri use their own range of natural vegan products for the treatment which you can then buy after! I felt relaxed and at ease. I was really impressed with the final result. My face and neck felt great, I have had back problems for a while too which they took into account without me even telling them. I definitely will recommend anyone to Maitri, cant wait to go back!

Visited Maitri last week for their open day..I was welcomed by friendly staff and given information of all therapies and treatments available . Booked an appointment for today with Arun to try and help my ongoing complex health problems, mainly Fibromyalgia and Malabsorption. Arun has a background in Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and Osteopathy. He explained in detail how he would make a diagnosis by examining my tongue, pulse rates and work on the five pumps of the body. I never knew somebody could tell so much about my ailments just from looking at my tongue. Arun is very thorough in explaining what he is doing, why he is doing it and what the benefits will be. I felt instant relief from pain, anxiety levels dropped and answers to questions that haven't added up being treated by Western medicine and GPs throwing prescribed medications at me. Arun also gave me recommendations on diet, exercise and homeopathic pills that would boost my health. I felt so relaxed when I left Maitri. I have been pain free, my back and neck have felt looser than they have in years. The only way I can explain it is like a feeling of being cleansed from the inside out. It is such a relief that somebody can explain the reason why I suffer form constant fatigue and that there is something that can be done to overcome it..Absolutely delighted with today's results and looking forward to my next session next week 😁

Having had a few health issues i went here to help to try and relieve some stress by having a indian head massage. I came out feeling like a completely new person, relaxed, stress free and feeling more positive about life in general. I now go a few times a week and have had my nails done, a swedish massage, raiki, fire cup massage and I can’t thank all the staff enough for being so welcoming. You can feel the love and positivity from them all from the minute you walk in the door.

My husband has been going here for sports massage and other therapies since Christmas. He has been made very welcome. We attended to see a specialist osteopath and acupuncturist and I have to say, he was absolutely amazing. If you are suffering will any illnesses or just need a pamper, go to the Maitri.
