Nice museum with lots of Mesopotamia civilizations in it. Located near Cumhuriyet Sq, easy to access. There are too many impressive artifacts some dating 4000 years or so. English translation is available too. It is not a huge museum so expect to spend approx. 45 mins to 1 hr.

Very good history of Mesopotamia. Ideally located in the city center. Parking can be a challenge

Nice place to introduce you to Mardins History with all details. It is entrance with 6 liras. It has two separated blocks so if you reach the smaller and calm one don’t think as I did your tour has finished. Go on complete your road to the down and you will find the next bigger part. It has two cafeteria you can enjoy Rehan Sharap which is Mardinian juice. It is open from 9-5:30.

Beautiful building. Helpful and friendly staff. The place, though, is overrated. Poor collection. No relief for the heat. No accessibility for any physically challenged person.

A nice museum with a beautiful view. It is open as of today, aside from the cafe and theater (though many people told me it was closed.) There is a huge construction project infront that makes it better to approach from above (the back of the museum.) Take one of two sets of stairs down to the museum. There is a tiny gate that will get you to the entry. The bonus of approaching from above is the collection of artisan open studios that you can visit. It took me a couple tries, as several people sent me in the wrong direction, but it was worth the effort! There is a tiny sign near the staircase that leads to the museum. Awesome Syrian/Turkish bakery right above the museum. Great views of the evening skies over the Mesopotamian plains below!

A nice museum depicting the city of Mardin in every inch of its history and riches. It has depictions in various areas of archeology, christianity, cultural, entertainment, modernity, Islamic, etc, aspects of Mardin.

Very nice museum packed with a lot of historical artifacts. Even has a room dedicated to showing fake items found in the market. A must see when visiting Mardin. The building itself that the museum is housed is a great phot opp. Very nice and helpful staff. My wife and I bought the Türkiye Museum Pass, which was a very good deal for our three week tour.

👍👍 Called the "Ephesus of Mesopotamia" the ruins of the ancient Dara are only 30 km from the center of Mardin city. Until 2008, they were completely underground, virtually arousing no interest. Due to the aforementioned proximity to the border with Syria, as well as remoteness from the west coast of Tü...
