More than friendly welcome from the friendly owner, Mario; welcoming place, ours was the last table available. All the courses lived up to the positive reviews, washed down with glasses of wines always recommended by Mario. Honest price, and I confirm a more than positive quality/price ratio. Recommended and will return as soon as possible.

We had a terrible experience here. As the only English speaking guests, we felt we were being rushed out by owner Mario. EVERY OTHER guest in this no menu restaurant was given an antipasto course EXCEPT US. When we asked Mario why, he said, because I am giving you “the short” menu. When we told him we didn’t want that, we wanted the same menu as everyone else, he shrugged his shoulders and walked away from us. In traveling the world we have never experienced this kind of treatment. We would suggest looking elsewhere for your meal.

The spaghetti with clams was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. But the real surprise was the next course: a fresh tuna ragout that demonstrated the kitchen's culinary mastery. The highlight of the lunch was the fried fresh fish, a true spectacle of crispiness and freshness. Everything was expertly accompanied by a sparkling white wine from Salice Salentino, which enhanced the flavors of the dishes perfectly. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Locanda Ermes is a place that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic local cuisine in a welcoming and refined atmosphere. We will definitely be back to taste these delicacies again.

I was then politely informed that the restaurant doesn't open until 8 p.m. We then reserved a table straight away. We arrived at around 8:15 p.m. and were of course the first by Italian standards. Despite all this, we received a very warm welcome from Mario the innkeeper. He also doesn't have a real menu, as he has dishes that change daily or weekly and is based on the current catch and the menu is structured accordingly. We decided on a large platter as a starter with seven different fish dishes and then a whole fish that was freshly caught and weighed around a kilo. After we had received the dishes, of course as a starter and as a main course, I still treated myself to mussels that I happened to see on another table. I have to say that I have never eaten in a better restaurant and that all the dishes were really delicious. that I have had the pleasure of getting to know so far. Mario is a lively Italian who loves his cuisine and gastronomy. He shows this with incredible passion. Dessert was vanilla ice cream with nougat cream and a liquid chocolate center. It was really very very very tasty. Everything that was offered to us that evening was done with a lot of dedication and attention to detail. This means a visit again is 100% guaranteed.

We were a group of 6 people and we ordered an appetizer consisting of 7 samples of fresh fish, it was really excellent. The owner, a very nice and sociable character, welcomed us warmly and offered us excellent coffee and homemade liqueurs. Total cost 350 euros, practically around 60 euros each, not much considering that the wine alone (2 bottles) cost us 60 euros.
