0/5 but they wouldn’t let me. Have to put a star apparently. This place should be bulldozed over. My wife and i stayed here for a total of 20 minutes. I had booked this place mainly because of the price $70usd as we were road tripping through to Notre Dame for the Saturday game against Vanderbilt. This place is an absolute dump. From the blast of curry at the front foyer, and the view of crackheads right next door at the cheap housing. To the stale stench of cigarette smoke and uncleaned carpet ran throughout the hotel. So I come into it as a skeptic and am willing to give it a shot. First thing my cards not working, well it worked 5 minutes ago filling up at a gas station. He accepts $70 cash. I don’t tell my wife that we’ve paid the one hour in and out rate. We get to our room. And I wouldn’t let our dog stay in this thing. The lights are all missing the shades. The bathroom door doesn’t shut. It’s too big for the door frame. The bed looks like I made it up. And the vibe that we’re getting is we’re sleeping In our clothes on top of the sheets tonight dear. Theirs stains around the bathroom tub were so disgusted we are now thinking no shower either. And then the phone starts ringing. No this isn’t Binder at the front desk asking how the room is. It’s Suzy the junky asking for more gear. I reply wrong person hang up and get 4 more phone calls. We’ve watched our share of horror films and figured we want to get to our destination so we packed up Binder gave me $50 told him to keep $20 and buy some lamp shades and cleaning supplies. Crossed the train tracks and stayed at a much nicer hotel and guess what..... my card worked :)

Nothing but roaches, drug dealers and prostitutes. We were scared to open our door. The place is in desperate need of either a total remodel or demolition. The management tried to double charge me. When we left they followed us out expecting us to clean our room. Employees barely spoke English and would give us dirty looks.

Only giving a 1 star because the beds were clean & staff was nice. The carpets were nasty & gross, the shower & shower curtain had mold on them both. The rooms had a nasty odor. We took the filter out of our AC unit in our room and cleaned it, it looked like it had never been cleaned. Lots of sketchy people coming & going at all times.

If you want to stay at a place that is nasty, stay here. They have roaches, and bed bugs. They give the rooms with flat screens in them to white people. Passed a room the lady was cleaning and she had the broom in the bathroom sink swishing it around like cleaning it then swept the floor. I heard the same sound then the toilet flushed so she probably did the same thing with the broom to the toilet. They also make the bed back up if the sheets don't look dirty. This is an at your own risk hotel!

The rooms were not bad at all. Good beds and TV and fridge and microwave. Halls and placement of the hotel are not the best. I never felt unsafe. This was our second year staying with same hotel, because the management was great. Family owned and I respected that we were treated awesome. And it's next to a hole in the wall amazing breakfast place.

Horrible!! Right when you walk in you’re hit with a smell of smoke, slaps you right in the face. Walked in our room and it was really dirty. The curtains had a huge white spot on them, the lights in the bathroom had no cover and there was a wad of hair up in the light, and there was also hair in the drain of the sink. Worst of all after checking the night before for bed bugs we woke up with one in our bed. Not to mention the homeless people standing in front of the hotel. Won’t be staying there again

I stayed here one night when I missed a train connection in Battle Creek. It was okay, but I would only recommend it if you need to stay one night. The pros: it's close to the train station, it's also near a mini mart at the gas station if you need things, it's near a restaurant (I didn't go as it was closed), they have a cheap motel rate, and there was a room available. Also my room was clean and there was a tv with cable, although the walls and tiles in the bathroom were a little cracked and cruddy. The cons: there was a door in the hallway leading to the outside that was not locked or even fully closed -- that was a bit alarming! There were some people shouting upstairs late at night. And the next morning they knocked on my door 3 times for housekeeping, starting around 7 a.m., even though I kept telling them nicely that I wanted to sleep until 9. When I checked out, they had coffee ready so that was nice at least. All in all it was fine for a last minute overnight stay, but I wouldn't be happy to return.

It had smokey hallways, but okay room smell. The people were really nice. The room was pretty clean. The breakfast was pretty scant, but there was hot coffee. The parking lot wasn't terribly clean after the big snow. It's within a walking distance from the town, but the train may provide a small obstacle.

changed review after latest stay The room was clean and well appointed and the staff was polite. The lobby looks like it was mid-remodel then the remodel was abandoned. The exterior has also seen better days. Several individuals seemed to hang out in the parking lot excessively and prompted concerns for security. Billed to have continental breakfast, however there was none available. The price is what brought us here as it was very low.
