This is a very lovely, clean, and we'll maintained park. There is a small parking lot near the main entrance, and an overflow parking lot further down the road. There is a bathroom, however it is at the opposite end of the park, not near the main entrance. It does cost $5 admission if you are over the age of 6 (I believe). No charge for parking. (As of May 2022) The paths are a combination of fine gravel and paved. There are slopes and some up and down. Some areas have railings, but not all the paths are easy for someone in a wheelchair or walker. There are stairs, but you can go throughout the entire park and not have to use stairs. Lots of winding and intersecting paths allow for wandering. There are lots of benches for sitting and relaxing. Wear shoes for walking and to protect your feet from the occasional goose droppings. There are lots of beautiful flowers (not just Rhododendrons), ponds, and waterfalls.

07/08/23: I was proud of myself for taking a chance to visit this outstanding and beautiful garden—$ 5 worth of every and every penny of yours into these amazing sceneries. I felt relaxed, calm, comfortable, and mindful about my life and inner peace. I am grateful for the people taking deep care of this garden. I wish every local and visitor should have taken a great time visiting this garden.

This little garden was not just beautiful but extremely relaxing. After walking around checking everything we sad on a bench under some trees and between the running water and wind between the trees we both fell asleep for a bit lol Parking is free but there’s a $5 per person fee.

The most beautiful place in Portland. Lots of flowers and giant cedar trees. Go during April and you'll be treated to a colorful display of rhododendrons, azaleas, and cherry blossoms. Kids and kids at heart will love going over all the bridges and checking out the waterfalls. The garden has 13 springs that feeds Crystal Springs Lake with cold, clear water. The lake has lots of ducks and other waterfowl and makes a perfect spot for bird watching. Parking is very limited although, if it's the weekend, you can park across the street at Reed College. The garden has a $5.00 entrance fee.

Enchanting respite from the hustle bustle and mess of Portland. Whether you want to meditate or reflect on life with a quiet walk- you will be so thankful this garden exists. The Canadian Geese and ducks will welcome you and you will delight in crossing beautifully constructed bridges and moss covered stones. Waterfalls and awe inspiring landscapes await you! The only downside is there’s a homeless access portable toilet out front and they have the actual bathrooms locked which I feel is nonsense. Portable toilets are neither sanitary nor part of the zen experience this garden offers so open your bathrooms so as not to detract from this amazing place which I still have 5 stars!

Only 5 dollars to get in, this unassuming garden is so much larger than expected, with a bridge that extends over the lake. Awesome array of wildlife (many different ducks) if you keep your eyes peeled. Beautiful foliage in the fall!

What a beautiful garden only with $5 ticket/person. I went on a sunny Saturday morning and it was not very crowded. Lots of trees and bridges that just look vintage and relaxing. We enjoyed the view while watching little ducklings swimming around in the lake. Worth visiting!

Such a lovely place to take a stroll and enjoy the beautiful PNW. Quiet and comfortable easy walk! Flowers, trees and ferns labeled. My parents were married here twice :)

Beautiful spot tucked away. We didn't know it was here until we were heading over by Leed College. It's so well maintained and there are SO many rhododendrons. Even though it's October one or two were in bloom! I thought they only bloomed in the spring but there are so many varieties that I guess I'm not surprised that some may be different. There was some cyclamen in bloom which I've never seen outside of a florist shop. Awesome paths. Easy walk. Great for families and people of all ages.

Gorgeous gardens full of hostas, ferns, magnolia and so many more specimens. And of course, so many stunning rhododendron. There is also quite a bit of wildlife with very calm Canadian geese around the water areas. Highly recommended if you are in East Portland. Oh, and it's super dog friendly and kids under 10 are free!

Such a hidden gem! This place is huge and amazingly beautiful! Only $5 admission which makes it so accessible. There is parking but the lot is small. Lots of cute ducks and the biggest rhododendrons I've ever seen in my life. They even sell umbrellas and have a bathroom. Highly recommend to both locals and people from out of town, for $5 you can spend a few peaceful hours reconnecting with an little nature. Paths were paved but since it was raining it was still pretty wet and muddy so the right shoes are something to plan ahead for weather wise.

Parking is challenging, it's a small lot. You can park on neighboring streets, but also challenging. You can secure a free pass to the garden by visiting your library (adventure pass) and printing the free pass. A small donation is nice. Best time to visit is May/ early June when things are in full bloom. Staff is excellent.

I really enjoyed this garden. The parking was very tight (too few spaces), but the garden was worth the wait. It was beautiful. I loved the trail that wound down and around to the lower garden with the water feature and steps to return to the top. I'll have to spend more time here on my next visit, during a time they are not so busy 😊

Been here so many times, was able to feed the ducks before, with the grand kids, We feed them kail, corn, peas. They used to have alot of fun, free entry, now $5.00 per adult, and no feeding the ducks !!! The grand kids didn't have much fun. 😕

Lovely and well maintained garden, but they are sticklers on entry time. It's 10am or no entry unless you're a member. I can see where they're coming from since membership comes with it's privileges but being stuck on the exact entry time seems wild. Chill and affordable spot across from Reed College. Some students were rather loud, but who am I to judge. Golf course across the body of water. Lots of great information posted throughout about the wildlife and the history of the garden. Do not feed the animals and be respectful of the paths. Very peaceful and if you can find time, meditate. Feels amazing opening ones eyes after a 5 minute body reset meditation. Lastly, the bathrooms were stunningly clean, which it being in Portland was surprising. Anyways I shall be back in the future. Come early to get parking because it space is limited.

Beautiful stroll in a park on a wonderful day. Nice easy walk. Pretty much anybody in all fitness levels can enjoy. There is not too much parking, but there's more across the street.

Cons: the parking lot is too small for this place and its well-deserved popularity. Pros: literally everything else! It's an absolutely spectacular, wonderfully curated park with beautiful scenery and walking trails! The waterfalls, bridges, fountains, wildlife, and everything else all add up to a sublime experience. Highly, highly recommend coming here!

Not only do I love having this garden in my neighborhood, it's also a beautiful wedding venue. It's one of my favorite outdoor wedding venues in Portland to work as a photographer and it's the perfect setting for a summer garden wedding. The venue grounds are beautiful and private feeling and provide a lot of scenic spots for portraits. The staff is always super friendly and easy to work with too!

We buy a yearly pass every year. This is an amazing nature-scape right in the middle of a golf course. Clean and free of garbage unlike most places in Portland. It's a perfect and safe park since there are 0 homeless people camping due to the fee to get in. It's great and safe! You'll see a lot of wild life here. Eagles, hawks and plenty of different ducks make a home here throughout the seasons. The staff and volunteers do great work keeping this perfect place as perfect as it is.

This was a gorgeous getaway in the middle of Portland. We arrived at peak bloom (I believe) and it was only $5 to get in. If you are planning to take portrait/event photos, there's an additional fee. Stunning pathways, trees, Flora, wildlife, and even a meadow to bring your picnic to. Quiet Tip: there's some free parking across the street at the campus if the tiny lot is full.

One of the most gorgeous gardens in the country! Well-designed and walkable. Lots of sweet moments to be found here and lots of historical specimens! Gosling and ducklings abound! Truly phenomenal grounds, caretakers and vistas. Wow!

This was a great daytime adventure. Very relaxing and beautiful. Was only a small fee to get in and you can spend hours going through all of the trails, paths, and bridges. I enjoyed this very much. Not too far away either. Will go often in the future as well.

Walking meditation, the sounds, the smells, the feel of the wind. What a WONDERFUL way to spend an hour or so. Free admission on Monday. Parking wasn't a problem. I absolutely love this place. They need to re-do their plant and tree identification markers as they are mostly missing or faded to unreadable.

This was our first time here. It's a beautiful location for a day trip. Came for a friend's wedding and loved it. Wish the waterfall would have been flowing like shown on the website, but it was not. There are lots of plants, but I'm not sure of the names. Some labels were around, but we didn't know what plants they went with. Will be back again.

Gorgeous! Much bigger than expected. Such beautiful views and plant life and wildlife, it was a really great experience. I can't wait to go back again! Based on the diversity of plants I think it would be worth a visit year round

We had such a lovely, peaceful walk through this park. We went toward the end of the summer and it was beautiful. We even spotted an owl in one of the trees. The only downside is that there were several weddings going on and so the bathrooms were roped off to the public.

Really beautiful park and easy to walk for most people. Especially if you have children. Loved the walk and it was adorable with a five dollar donation. Enjoyed thoroughly.

This garden was spectacular, even after the rhododendrons bloomed. Beautiful setting with an island, lake (really a pond) view, multi-level terrain, with lots of paths to wander and discover little hidden nooks with a bench with a view. Restrooms are over on the island. Entrance fee is $5. Quiet garden that felt like a sanctuary. Small parking lot.

Beautiful gardens with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. There were three small waterfalls as well as ponds in which to see ducks and if you’re lucky, river otters. It’s not wheelchair nor cane friendly but if accessibility isn’t an issue, it’s a stunning park to visit. It’s a popular venue for wedding photography and I can see why. Parking lot is small but decent sized. I went on a Friday morning during the summer and it wasn’t too bad in terms of crowds. Entry fee is $5 and they accept credit cards. Well worth a visit.

This is a place to walk through just to admire the beauty. You can take a few minutes or half a day, if you're looking for natural beauty this is the place to find it. Amazing towering rhodies, azaleas and old growth trees around the lake, ponds and streams... Paradise!

  • 5/5 Andrea T. 2 years ago on Google
The garden is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Obviously it is best when the rhododendron bushes are blooming but the garden is always gorgeous! The pathways wander through the trees and bushes with lots of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery.

We had a great time at the park and recommend to walk around the entire place which is definitely worth it. The entry fee is $5 per adult and they also offer a lot of annual membership options which range from $40 for member +1 guest to $100 for member +5 guests if you estimate visiting multiple times. We'll definitely go back for a visit during the fall season.
