I visited with my boyfriend and we LOVED everything from the ambiance to the sides. I miss the late night tacos I’d have when Im not at Purdue but these hit my tastebuds well. I think the portions sizes were just perfect and we enjoyed everything we ordered!

My first time there. Food was ok, but couldn’t understand why the waiter was so rude. Not just to us but other people coming in as well. I do not recommend them at all, there are many other Mexican restaurants in the area much more welcoming.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Lafayette! Bring your friends and family here for birthdays or whenever for great service and delicious food. I love the Choripollo and always have seconds for the next day!! Tried the Tlayuda (on the menu as an appetizer), and it was really good. Friendly staff as always!

For whatever reason I had low expectations for this place but it was better than I thought. The service is fast and the food is authentic. The portions are large and they bring you chips and salsa without asking for it. You won’t be disappointed of this place. I am glad I came here with my wife on our date. Also, the tacos are not the usual tiny street tacos, they are larger so you might want order 1-2 less than your normal quantity.

Excellent service and portions. I sadly can't say the same for taste. Rice tasted like something in it had gone bad, beans were weirdly spicy, and the red sauce tasted like canned spaghetti sauce. For the price, though, I can say we both left very full, with leftovers.

Great experience like always. Very high quality ingredients. You can tell they really care about the service they give you here. Everything is great on the menu, but there is some major to the grilled shrimp, they are awesome in everything.

Friendly staff Good portion sizes. Nice ambience. Fast service. Only 3* for the food. It's a decent place. Not 5* like some reviews say though. Food was decent. Nothing extraordinary.

Delicious food arrived hot and by a friendly delivery man. Portions are generous. Only problem was the woman on the phone taking the order understanding me, esp. address. I ordered pork & chicken, but got steak and pork.

I came here with my companion because we were both craving Mexican food and they were really amazing to us. We had to doctor up our Guacamole because we like it with spice,but given the area we live in, it is not surprising that spice is not often included. That however was no big deal to us. The staff was very kind, and extremely accommodating. I absolutely loved every moment of my time and can't wait to return.

Best Mexican food in Lafayette in my opinion. They mess it up occasionally, but hey… language barrier & all that jazz. Just check your meal before you skurrt off, ya know 😏 (GET THE ARROZ CON POLLO!)

So the handful of times we've been here, it's been a ghost town, we're usually the last table for the night, but the food is always GREAT. Affordable, fresh and flavorful food, and portions are average/above average (I suppose it depends on what you get). Margs are excellent. A year or two ago, our friends really wanted us to go to Taco Rico's (hadn't been in years, they insisted it was really good now). Absolutely no offense to them, but MAN was I disappointed. It was okay, just honestly just mediocre. My partner and I agreed we would've rather come down the street to Meson. Honestly can't go wrong here.

Chili rellanos are cheese filled polbano peppers that are egg-battered and fried then covered with red sauce. They range from mild to downright caliente (hot). The more wrinkled the pepper, the hotter it becomes. The best rellanos I have ever eaten was at this Latino decorated restaurant. The chips and dip were refresheringly spicy and the guacamole and refried beans were generous and delicious. My husband didn't like his Speedy Gonzales as well, he called it average.

The lobby is kind of sloppy with hand written notes all over the doors and such but the inside is beautiful. All the hand carved seats and walls. Just beautiful. The server was great, the food was good, and everything was enjoyable. This was our first time here and we'll definitely be back. Much nicer than we expected. Recommended.

Ordered takeout and only had to wait 10 minutes! Friendly staff. Cheap prices for a lot of food! Chips and salsa included. Only issue was that I ordered a side of tortillas ($1) that weren’t in the bag when I got home. Food was fresh and delicious! Highly recommend.

I highly recommend giving El Meson a try. We never leave this place disappointed. Always large portions of food, and great quality!
