Perfect panzerotti! This fried pizza from the stiletto heel of Italy is as good or better than I had when I was there. This man knows his dough, he cooked it perfectly, and the fillings were perfectly southern Italian; oh-so-good! Mama Mia, I even loved his cannoli, which I never have before!

This was such excellent food and the experience with Walter was so amazing. He makes small talk with all of his customers and is so warm and welcoming. He recognized it was my birthday and came and sang happy birthday to me in Italian. We had a salsiccia, a rustico and a cannoli and they were all so delicious. The bread is light and crispy with a fry bread type flavor and the fillings are so complimentary to each other and perfectly cooked. This is basically a calzone, but somehow even better. If I lived in PDX, I'd be a regular here for sure.

I first head about Walter and Bari Food Cart from the Munchies series on YouTube, and I feel like I've discovered one of Portland's hidden treasures. Panzerotti are the perfect comfort food: light and delicate dough yet warm and immensely satisfying. I got the Salsiccia, Italian sausage with Gorgonzola, mildly spicy with the addition of red pepper flakes, and this picture does not do it justice. Walter is a joy, made my girlfriend and I feel so welcome. We'll be back!

My first time trying a panzerotti and all I can say, the best I have tried 5/5 stars for me. Also, best customer service and personality from the main man. Came all the way down from my Tri-cities WA.

Bellissimo! Authentic, delicious, perfect! Light, crispy, beautifully balanced pastry with the quintessential italian flavors you know and love. Walter is a wonderful human and his food is amazing. La prossima!

Carciofi Panzerotti Fritti and Tiramisu were both amazing. I had been following this cart on IG for a while and finally made it out. The owner was so friendly and pleasant to interact with! Having this took me back to study abroad over a decade ago. I will definitely be back! SO GOOD.

“Try imagine a world without Italian food. You can't, no way.” Now, I cannot imagine a world without Panzerotti Fritti Barese, highly recommend to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Italy. Squisito! Complimenti, Walter! A&C

Literally one of the best places for food in Portland. Hands down. When we need a place that is just GOOD, Bari is where we go.

I found out about this food cart from YouTube. The only time I’ve ever had panzerotti was when my sister-in-law’s cousin’s husband from Italy made them during Christmas time…. Anyway the food was amazing! The cannoli was the real deal. The panzerotti was made perfectly! The only thing hard about this place is pronouncing some of the items on the menu! Hehe!

I panzerotti di Walter Ferrante sono tanto delizioso! (Hope I got that right. 2+ years of Duolingo has yielded an imperfect, but gradually improving understanding of Italian, which Mr. Ferrante himself speaks beautifully, while welcoming my clumsy efforts 😂) A perfect oasis, of Southern Italian (specifically Barese-inflected) food culture, right here in Southeast Portland! If I lived a bit closer to the Carts on Foster, I'd have a hard time not stopping by the this place practically every day. Which would be problematic because I am moderately allergic to wheat--note: there are as yet no gluten-free panzerotti options; also, while one could, theoretically, ask for one of them to be prepared *senza formaggio* (cheese-free), be aware that it can't be made vegan; Mr. Ferrante noted that his dough contains some milk. (I'd thought to get one for my vegan daughter, and appreciated Mr. Ferrante's being upfront about why that wouldn't work.) But! A little wheat every now and then is something I can rationalize for time to time, on the reasoning that these extraordinarily tasty panzerotti exist. (Still get a mild inflammatory reaction but for me--thankfully I don't have a more serious issue like celiac--it is entirely worth it!)

DELICIOUS!! Never had a panzerotti before, and Bari delivered the best first experience I could ask for! Bread is so soft with a crisp outside, and the inside..... oh man. Definitely going to frequent this cart more often!

The owner is from Italy and his energy is unmatched. He's super friendly, puts love into his food, and it really shows. All of the food we ordered was created to order, and very fresh. The wait was more than acceptable, and his new space is surrounded by some impressive food trucks and some areas for arcades. Plenty of space to sit and eat, or to do takeaway.

Come for the panzerotti and stay for the genuine kindness and friendship of Walter. We drove up from Eugene on my birthday and he alone made the trip worthwhile, he went out of his way to take pictures with us and sit down to talk and sing me happy birthday. On top of that, the pesto panzerotti was unlike anything I've ever eaten and it's best you experience it yourself - the dough was perfectly light and the fillings are fresh and warm. 10/10 Bari was a great experience and I will be sure to go back every time I'm in Portland. Grazie mille Walter!

Finalmente ho trovato un esperienza italiana autentica nel PNW! Walter è gentilissimo e simpaticissimo! His customer service is excellent and his panzerotti are soooo good! My husband and I also tried the cannoli. Yum! I am Italian and I can attest to the quality and authenticity of his food! Go have a panzerotto right now, you won't be disappointed!

After my experience with JJs BBQ (check out my other review) in the piedmont food carts I decided to give them a chance. After dropping 25, figured I could drop another 12 on food that looked hot from the steam coming off of the calzones they were serving. Ring up wait 6 minutes, get my food and break open the calzone. Hollow with unmelted parmasean and cheap pizza sausage, as a cook I know parmasean doesnt melt totally but it literally looked like ceasar salad cheese. Took a bite, luke warm. After forcing myself to throw up JJs bbq here's hoping the processed ingredients won't make me sick because I was done at that point
