It was a wonderful experience for me to complete my half-year internship at AmInvestment Bank Batu Pahat under the guidance of Mr. Oh. He is a truly kind and helpful person. In my opinion, this is a good internship place for students to learn more about finance and investment. Plus, Mr Oh is very kind and friendly and when we don’t understand something he will help. After ending my 2 month internship, I believe this company is the ideal platform to nurture youngster in the Finance/Economics industry.It was my pleasure to work with my boss Mr Oh, he is an enthusiastic teacher who not only provided finance industry knowledge but also delivered valuable life lesson (Eg. Networking skill) to us. The internship has strengthened my understanding from real-world economics and I've equipped with the skill to perform an in-depth analysis on economic events. Before joining the programme, I was only good at analysing stocks.Now I expanded my expertise to the commodities & currency market since Mr Oh has taught us the economy behind both asset classes & how the price movement will affect us. Most importantly, interns will gain better sense of market trend & improve commercial awareness because we are required to read global market news everyday during the internship. A good mentor, Mr Oh, really push me in the right direction.I've genuinely enjoyed myself and grown in the internship.

Like what people said, when there is a crisis, there is always an opportunity, participating in this intern is one of the opportunities I was given during this pandemic time. Before participating in this intern, I always looked at the company fundamental and stock price only, I have neglected the macro economy that have deeply affect the market, after the 1997 Asia crisis case, I realized it is important to know the trend of the macro economy when we invest in the market to minimize our losses. Besides that, I always thought investing long term dose not require to cut loss if the company fundamentals have not changed, but as investors, we must know not all company info are declared to the public, if a good company stock price break through multiple support, we should exit and wait for a better chance. In conclusion to this, buying a good company at a wrong timing is not a good investment. Lastly, I like how Mr Oh handle the meeting by letting us to brainstorm even though sometimes less people participate in the topic. Since middle school, I always hated the fact that our exams often require us to give the one and only correct answer to have high marks, but in the real world, nothing have a correct answer, same goes to the world of finance. For example, in the stock market, people can different opinion of some prices will go up, but in the same time some people will think it’s going to go down, but no one is correct until we reach a certain outcome. Being right about the outcome gives me satisfaction because before the outcome, we always look for evidence and see different point of view then we use our money to buy the outcome that we may think is the most possible outcome in the future, this is known as risk decision making in psychology. Last but not least, thank you very much and I hope Mr Oh will receive more talented and hardworking interns that can reduce your workload in the future. p/s non finance/economy/account major student can also apply if you have great passion in the industry as I'm a psychology student.

They say life goes by in a blink of an eye, and it is hard to imagine that I have finally reached the end of my 20 years of education. Therefore, I would like to thank my beloved boss Mr.Oh, for giving me an opportunity to work with you. I have the opportunity to research macroeconomics studies and understand how the transformation happened and how the company leaders responded to the crisis. I realized that the industries have to be flexible enough and take the right action as fast as possible to survive and thrive in the market. Last but the least, this is a fruitful internship program as I discovered and learned more beyond textbooks, especially the event relating to our current situation. In a word, I like this internships program very much as it is like a real-world project rather than just homework. And I realized that no matter how beautifully the strategy, action must be taken to make it into reality. If not, it comes to nothing.
