Found this hidden cafe near the wet market. Needed to find vegetarian food. Stumbled upon it. Very nice deco café. Limited food option but they could customize vegetarian for me (still containing egg and cheese). Saved my day. However a little pricey RM13 for this menu. Couldn't ask for more since there isn't much of a choice. However, I don't mind going there for drinks next time. More of a café with cakes and drinks than food serving café. Their coffee and tea menu looks very good. After tasting the Japanese noodle (take-out): it tasted very good. With sweet sauce and sesame oil.

Stunning wooden interior with total of 4 floors and the highest floor is a library. What a suprise!! Nice and friendly staff. The speed of serving also quite fast. Although it has 4 floors here, but just a few tables in each floor which is good and not being very crowded. Only one main dish is served here which is noodle with chicken chop or fish fillet for selection. Portion for the noodle is quite small for me but the taste was superb. Recommend the spicy noodle. Ordered a chicken chop set and fish fillet set. Both of it tastes good. The best seller in here I think is the tart. They have variety of tarts and desserts served here. Ordered a grape tart and its delicious. The grapes is fresh and the cream inside is match with the grapes. Having a good lunch time or a short teatime here will be satisfy. Overall experience is very good and will be back again.

Absolutely love this place! Like how they managed to turn a historical shop lot into a cozy cafe with wooden theme. We didn’t order any mains, only tried their cakes and drinks. Cakes were delicious, not so sweet yet tasty, and the drinks were perfect for high tea. Would definitely visit again.

This café has a beautiful and cosy wooden interior. It is not so easy to locate but it is situated in my favourite part of Batu Pahat. Food and drinks are on the pricier side for BP standards (a latte/a slice of cake costs more than RM10) but were delicious.

Surprise with the indoor renovation. This old terrace shoplot located in Old Town of Batu Pahat. Friendly & efficient staffs. Food serving very fast. Nice cheesecake, however the selection for the main course for lunch was too little. Nice environment but is not cold at all. Not recommended to visit during afternoon especially on hot day if you easily get sweated like me.

We ordered avocado tart and sweet potato mille crepe. Both were very nice and not too sweet. The atmosphere is calm and chill. Would like to come again for different desserts and drinks

Interior is superb as they built up the cafe with 4floors with wood. Very cozy to spend your lazy noon at. Tart is made with real full ingredients. For example the taro tart you can still eat the real taro which they squeezed inside. Only thing to feedback is, there are really not customer service experience there. Go eat , order then sit down. Although the wood ambience bring the warm feeling but inside myself is treated coldly. Believe a warm welcome and introduction will be great especially for solo visitor like me. Sometime first time visitor is clueless on how and what. In this part, Mong bakery did it really good.

This is a very unique cafe, very nicely designed and decorated. Unfortunately, it's located away from the main street, in a slightly less savoury part of town, the good thing is that street parking is readily available. The refurbished shop house is quaint and interesting. The wooden floors and panels lend a very cozy and picturesque. We went there for lunch. Food wise, there is not much variety, just fish/chicken noodles or a rice dish. Fortunately, the noodles are well done and rather tasty. However, most people would be here for the desserts and coffee. We were blown away by the taro, cheese cakes, the Mr Dirty and affogato.

Peach tea cream cap was good. Taro yam pie was great with real yam cube and mash. The downside was the lack of sound proofing and the noise of steps when people are moving around, quite disturbing

Fancy having lunch/tea at a shophouse with a old school ambience? Try out Wooden box (木箱). Order and pay your food/drinks using digital payment method 👍🏻 cashless is the way to go. During peak hours, food and drinks would require sometime. But it is worth the wait. Portion wise the food looks ok for the price point. Dessert is quite nice. Would recommend the lime key cake. The downside would be the noise made by the wooden floorboard and there is only limited seat in the rooms which is more cooling. Otherwise a rather comfortable place to chill. Would come again.

Cozy environment, suitable for study, but if you sit below 3rd floor, sometimes kids playing and running above would be an issue as the floor is made of wood :(

I stumbled upon this charming cafe and instantly fell in love with its cozy ambiance. The coffee was exceptional, perfectly brewed to my liking, and the desserts were simply divine. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall delightful experience. I can't wait to visit again for another relaxing afternoon with great coffee and treats! ✨☕️

Wooden Box is four-storey hideout in a vintage shophouse. This café is decked out with an all-wood interior. The highlight is a charming stairway fitted with gorgeous hand-crafted railings that exude a natural warmth and cosiness. This place ticks all the boxes of a instagrammable spot for food and photo opportunities. I ordered the Classic Apple Pie With Vanilla Ice Cream and Dirty Coffee during my visit here. The pie required a 15 mins preparation time. The total cost is RM32, which seems slightly pricey compared to other Batu Pahat cafés. You can include this place in your café hopping list since it is situated close to a few other cafés in the area.

A gem (hidden or displayed) in Batu Pahat. The tarts were delectable, the coffee aromatic and flavourful. The modern food contrasting wonderfully with the wooden vintage interior. Not to mention the air-conditioning acting as a welcome respite from the typical Malaysian heat. 10/5.

Very nice Instagramable cafe. Food options are pretty limited. One third of the menu is sold out or unavailable on a Wednesday afternoon. A tad pricey, comparable to cafes in Singapore.

Noodle & Pasties are nice. Coffee & Drinks are good too. Just choice in the menus is limited.

So disappointing.. It's an quite unique interior design cafe but with a super duper rude service of a tall girl. Foods and drinks have been waited almost an hour and after checking with the counter, the order was not been placed (even it's already paid). Food taste was so-so, chicken chop is too salty. Everything can be forgiven except for the super bad service of that particular girl. She is more than enough to ruin the whole image of the cafe.

Interesting converted shop house dominated by the wooden staircase to upstairs sitting areas with a view to the back garden. Service can be a bit chaotic with the need to find your own table upstairs then going back down to ground floor to order. The cakes are pretty good. Drinks are very average. The main draw of this place is mainly catering to the social media crowd.

A very cool rustic 4-storey cafe made of wood located in the old town of batu pahat. Definitely worth a visit (it's just around the block of legendary akbar chendol stall). We were only here for coffee since we just had lunch. Coffee standard is better than those in JB town. Would love to try their tarts and mains next time!

Very unique concept, food is nice! And affordable. It’s not that hard to locate this place(in the middle of nowhere/busy streets). I’ll come back in the nearby future for sure 👍
