Traditional restaurant in north miami neighborhood, great service of the lady who works there more than 20 years, we order shrimp tacos with soft tortilla, crab cakes so delicious (good portion), conch sandwich (perfect x a fast lunch time), then I ordered the seabass with mushroom and butter lemon white wine sauce, key lime x dessert. They have happy hour and brunch on weekends.

Came here for dinner. Visiting North Miami Beach. The boat to table menu, I got the Yellowtail snapper, with sautรฉ spinach. Very fresh. We had oyster. The shrimp and Grits and the shrimp creole and oysters. Donโ€™t let the strip mall location fool you. Fresh, friendly and Clean. Prices are very reasonable. Jodi was pleasure.

From the moment you enter you notice the cleanliness and freshness of this place. The tables all wiped clean, floors nice and clean, fresh fish and crab in ice at the front counter. The air was odorless unlike many small seafood joints. Our server Yoselin was good and attentive and the food was excellent. The portion sizes were ample. We left satisfied.

Service is good & well mannered. Food is very good. We had the crab cakes, lobster Mac n cheese bites, fried snapper, and the fried lobster. Oysters were also fresh. I would've taken pictures of the food but we ate it too fast. Definitely left with a satisfied appetite!

Visited Captain Jim's Seafood Restaurant on 07/31/22 with family after it came highly recommended by a friend. Restaurant is not in an easily find and upscale neighborhood but please do not let the outside of the restaurant deterred you from stopping by. The ambience was calm and family friendly. We were pleasantly welcomed and seated instantly. We ordered beverages which included ice tea, coke, and beer and our appetizers consisted of lobster bisque, calamari, and CJ crab cakes. Our entrรฉe consisted of Captain's Combo served with white rice and red beans, Fried Lobster served with spinach on the side and the Seafood Puttanesca made extra spicy. We all shared each other's meal. We were flabbergasted of how mouth-watering and pleasingly rich and tasty our meals were. The Captain's Combo was blackened, savory, and smokey with little accent of mild spice. The Fried Lobster was flavorfully seasoned with a crispy texture, and the Seafood Puttanesca was very bold, flavored, fragrant, and extra spicy. We enjoyed our meals and the service. We were not disappointed and will definitely visit again.

I saw this restaurant on a travel/food show with John Catucci on Hulu. All of the food made on the show looked great, so I had to visit while in the Miami area. I can say I am not disappointed. The captains tail sandwich was fantastic, as well as the lobster croquettes. Also tried the shrimp po boy, the hush puppies, red beans and rice, and crab cakes, all of which were very good. The staff was incredibly friendly. I would say this place is definitely worth checking out. Next time I'll try the shrimp and grits...

Good spot. Weโ€™ve gone here a few times. Quick Happy hour. Fresh fish definitely. The shrimp and grits are our favorite. Just so deliciously tasty. Good portion too. However, I believe a few items are a little overpriced for what you get.

Seafood puttanesca is sooo good. You get everything you want from the sea. Stone crab claw is a bit pricey ($53 per lb for large ). Itโ€™s more kind of experience. Good looking but just like any other crab? IPA is very smooth and not that strong. Service is a bit lame. Only one person takes care both the market sales and the order. We waited 20-30min just for the check.

This is a very underrated and understated excellent value seafood joint, with reasonable stone crab prices, fresh fish and an excellent NE clam chowder. Very relaxed environment with great drink selections as well. (If you enjoy good cooking and travel videos, please visit cuisineQuest on YouTube!)

Starting with a surprisingly clean imitation crab salad, this seafood shop hit banger after banger, even for dishes we would never like. It turns out I think stone crab claws are overrated but who cares they made great claws. I love oysters and theirs were meaty and briny and not too chewy. I love hush puppies and they have the best hush puppies I've ever had. Even their conch salad was a testament to that dish. I highly recommend going here for the oysters and hush puppies and their Caribbean fish soup.

We have been in town for a few days and by far this has been the best and most tasty seafood so far. Had conch fritters, conch, grouper and shrimp platter, fish tacos, crab cakes and grouper soup and happy hour oysters. Everything was beyond fresh. Waitress and staff were very friendly.

This is a hide gem that is a must if you are looking for fresh sea food options. My first impression was wow on the spotless in every detail at this restaurant, even when the fish store is also at the restaurant. They have affordable and reasonable prices consider the quality and portions. The service is punctual and staff is friendly. The Newmanโ€™s shrimp po boy and the key lime pie is a must in here.

I was there in October of last year when crustacean season began and of course the claws were delish! This time I treated myself to a late lunch, and since I had Joes Takeaway last weekend, I ordered the lobster bisque very good, an order of 1/2 dozen oysters from West Virginia, they were good size, texture and just perfectly fixed; I also drank an IPA to clean my pallette and then ordered blackened covina tacos you get(3) per order w a lime juice slaw-so good but by then I felt full and decided to take one to go...Definitely, took advantage of its quietness before dinner rush and Ingrid was wonderful, friendly, attentive and helpful(shes also got a great smile). Ill be back for happy hour during the week M-F 4p-7p w specials n maybe catch a basketball on the tv...

Insanely good... Capt. Jims is located at a strip mall that if you are driving semi fast you will not even realize its there... however, the food and the place is FANTASTIC! It used to be a fish market (with a small restaurant to the side) with open ice-filled racks with fish, caught fresh from local fishermen... You could actually get the employees to call you when your favorite fish came is fresh... The pandemic and the economy made them change their business model and they are now more of a restaurant than a fish market. They do have fish to sell but the restaurant portion of the place is now more important. They recently remodeled and the place is much brighter and lighter in color. Service is great and the menu choices are even better. During Stone Crab season, they have to be the absolute best place in Miami to eat claws. Fresh lobster, oysters, crab cakes, lobster Mac n' Cheese... fried calamari, shrimp, Yellow Tail (prepared in any way you want), etc, etc, etc.... If you are close by and are looking to have good seafood for decent price, do not hesitate to visit Captain Jim's!!! Oh, and I almost forgot.. their corkage fee is really good, so don't think twice about taking your own bottle.

Did the brunch special, we ordered the fish and grits and the crabcake benedict. Both came with complimentary mimosas. We had the pleasure of being served by Jody who was both real and warm. Our food was legit, filling and tasty. Ambiance is chill, no frills - down to business. And the dishes were the business. The fish and grits dish had a crazy broth in the same family as a gravy or curry that hit like comfort food or umami vibes. Not a egg person but the crabcake benedict on the green tomato? Sold! Would return and recommend the spot and both dishes.

First time back in a while. A friend told me he was in and had the deep fried yellowtail snapper and it was good. Having never had one I ordered one. The fish (1.47 lb) with one side $42.62. It was good but I prefer a fillet. Also ordered a side of hush puppies $4.99. Server Jody has been there for ever and always takes great care of me. Will be back for sure.

Food was prepared in a timely manner. Very tasty! The gentleman who took my order was very helpful, however, customer service needs serious attention. The waitress with short blonde hair displayed erratic behavior and appeared to be completely overwhelmed. She nearly ruined my brief experience. (To-go order) But good food goes a long way!

A solid 4 star. Lobster bisque was nice, lightly seasoned but had traces of lobster instead of lobster chunks. The conk fritters were too mushy and oily. The stone crabs were phenomenal my advice is order them steamed and not chilled with garlic butter sauce . Service was a bit slow.

One of my new favorite restaurants for seafood in Miami! Jody, our server, was great & gave us all the best recommendations. We tried out the bottomless mimosas, lobster mac croquettes, stone crab, fish & waffles, crab cake benedict, fried conch, rum cake, & key lime pie. Everything was incredibly delicious and the price wasnโ€™t bad! Thought it would be a lot more expensive but itโ€™s fairly prices. Will definitely be back here soon!

I'm sorry . .but $55 a pound for small stone crabs in the market area to go.? Do I look like I'm from out of town? They're $35 all over town this season. It's not like they're a formal Ritz-Carlton upscale restaurant that's making a meal for me. It's a to-go fish Market product. That's almost 50% markup. Forget it. It'll make me not want to come back for anything else. And the calamari was average. Greasy. $15 for appetizer size with about $2 worth of squid is and at all Never had calamari like that . It's all chopped like stuffing so you don't what you're getting . Now I gotta go looking for stone crabs on my birthday.
