How many times have you driven by this place and wondered should I stop??? WELL HIT THE BRAKES !!! This place was incredible, we spent the morning at Sun West Park and was thinking about lunch. Well we decided to give Big Fred's a try, well we are very sorry we waited so long to do so. When you walk in you are stepping back in time way back, this place is True Americana from days gone by. You are greeted by super friendly people that serve up fantastic food and service, great menu with lots of options AND GIANT PROPORTIONS!!! Our server Lisa never missed a beat and really did a great job, my Patty Melt was delicious and my wife's Bacon Cheese Burgers was huge and so were the fries and perfect!!!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY!! 1st and last time at this place! Ordered Steak Philly quesadilla. Supposed to have cheese, steak, mushrooms and onions. Pancakes are thicker and it just had cheese and steak and had a twang to it...couldn't eat it. Italian sausage was to have peppers and onions. Nope. Just stringy cold onions. They just give you what they want, not what you order. Awful food. Run!! Praying I don't get sick.

Food is good and large sized. A medium order of fries will serve 2 hungry people easily. The burger is large. The food is worth going for but I had a bad service experience. The place is small but only has one server and they can get distracted and ignore the tables. If it looks busy, I would go elsewhere but if not crowded then you might want to give a try. Service appears to be a hit or miss. For me it was a miss 😢.

What an awesome place! And look at this Burger… it’s even bigger than it looks. Huge! Wanted to go back, but unfortunately I didn’t. And boy, really wanted one of those malts! Order the Patriot Burger, shocking to see!

This is a great old diner, style burger place. Stopped while on the road for work with a coworker. We both got burgers. She got a mushroom burger and I got a bacon cheeseburger. Both were amazing. The french fries were incredibly crispy and good. I would highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area

First timer and..WOW! Hungry for a burger (but sooo tired of the played out fast food), so I opted for the cozy spot in Hudson right off US-19. Very friendly staff, clean & relaxing atmosphere and apparently…HUGE burgers! I ordered the “Big Papa” (comes with thick cut steak fries) for $14.50, definitely worth it! The bubbly waitress even asked how I would like my burger cooked! So rare to find that option these days…I admit that I will be back, as this is a gem worth finding and returning to. Thanks Big Fred’s Diner!

Love the diner atmosphere derive was good for 15 people in this restaurant and only one person working. Food was very bland definitely could be touched up as far as ingredients.

My family and I have been coming to Big Fred's Route 66 now for a little over a month. We have loved all of the food we've ordered here and the service is very good. I especially love how big the burgers are, and believe me...they are HUGE, and tasty! The milkshakes are delicious as well. I get a vanilla malt every time we eat here. They play nothing but oldies music from around the 50's era and the interior of the diner makes you think of that special place in time. I highly recommend this diner for anyone looking to have some good food while listening to good tunes.

Great little mom and pop type place. The owner is extremely friendly and is a car guy. His staff is friendly and out going, down to Earth. Food is really good. That 1 pound burger will get you where you need to be. Homemade milkshakes. Please give them a try. Car shows are happening there too.

The food is excellent, prices are pretty comparable to any other diner style eatery. Their roast beef sandwiches are superb, and they are willing to "customize" sandwiches. One of my all-time favorite sandwiches is a roast beef and swiss on grilled sourdough bread, but I've not been able to find them in the Greater Tampa area. Until Big Fred's, it was so good that they are now our go to diner!!

Had a tuna sandwich, it was ok. There was a good amount of Tuna on the Sandwich, was Charged extra for the Honey Mustard. Lol. However I didn’t mind. I thought it was kind of funny actually. Still gave it a great review. You get only the Sandwich, No chips or fries that’s extra, the Honey Mustard is extra, server said food costs are going up so they charge extra for Honey Mustard. No problem! Lol. Whatever. I still gave them a good review. Sandwich was ok. Same type of Sandwich I can make at home without the sarcastic service. Lol.

It's a tiny out of the way place and if you don't know where it is you might miss it but if you do find it you'll be glad. The burgers are hand-pressed everyday, the onion rings are fresh and handmade, the staff is friendly and the ambiance reminds me of the old drive-in restaurant I used to go to as a kid. We each ordered a hamburger and were totally shocked and spellbound when they came. They were as big as our heads. These are 1 lb burgers. We got the Patriot Burger which was absolutely delicious. Usually the burger part is just that, burger. This was very flavorful and reminded me of my mom's homemade hamburgers. It was absolutely delicious even though I could only eat a quarter of it. It came with a healthy heaping order of crinkle fries also. They even have a 10 lb Burger that comes with 10 pieces of cheese and tons of toppings and if you can eat it in 2 hours it's free. I'd like to take a bunch of people just to order it and split it. I just want a picture of this thing. It's $55 and if it tastes like the burger from yesterday, it's worth every penny.

Ordered the Special of the day a Super club. Sorry there was four pieces to start. But a great sandwich with bacon, beef, ham and turkey! Great service and fast. Eat local and avoid the chains it's worth it. A big plus beef is butchered onsite fresh not frozen!

Great food. It is a small diner was about seating for about 30. There is some outside seating. There was only one waitress so there was a little bit of a wait but she was doing everything she could. The cooks were helping out running some of the food out. Make sure to bring your appetite, everything here is big. I got the double hamburger, wife ordered bacon cheese burger and an order of nachos and fried Oreos for dessert. Our son got the touchdown burger, it was huge and chilli cheese fries his wife ordered the ham club. Everything tasted great. Prices were good. We have spent just as much at MCDONALDs before. There might have been only one waitress but she was on here game. Anytime our drinks were half full she would have another sitting at the table without asking. If I had to knock something it would be the chilli was a little to sweet for me. Wife and son said it was great so that is just my opinion. If you are in the area and are hungry this is a diffinite must go to.

Very good experience, the server is super friendly and attentive to her tables, with a great sense of humor as well. I ate a Hawaiian burger which I enjoyed very much however I felt the bread kinda crumbles a bit much. The food was delicious as well as the chocolate milkshake. They offer food challenges, one I remember seen on the menu is a 10lb burger with 10 slices of cheese. The location is easy to access from US 19 and there's plenty of parking available. Highly recommended

First time here and the food was delicious! The girls did an amazing job with service. We will definetly go back and we highly recommend. Next time I would like to try breakfast. I didnt realize they served breakfast all day. We found out after we ordered. It's a different menu so make sure to ask. I didnt get to post all the pics. The kids dug into their food pretty quick so I didn't have time. The owner does all the cooking and the food came out in decent time. 👌

This is my new favorite place. Just look at these freaking burgers!!!! I couldn't even eat 1/2. Delicious, cooked fresh to order. I love a rare burger, and they delivered. Took home 4 boxes of food, that's nuts! 😋 the servers were so awesome, really sweet, personable, and knowledgeable. Our server was funny too. Love the old school diner theme, playing golden oldies to really set the atmosphere. I can wait til we go for breakfast! Excellent experience.

Easily one of the best burgers I had! Service was wonderful. Wife got the 1 pound burger and I got the double bacon cheeseburger. Just DAMN GOOD!!!

Great little diner. Food is excellent and portions are large. Employees are friendly and service is good. Seems like they have a lot of regular customers that the employees know by name. Gives the diner a good feeling. I try to get there at least once a week for lunch. Food isn't greasy either. Worth trying if you're in the area.

Food was good.

The 1lb Heissman was a burger of epuc proportions and flavor. The onion rings had a crunchy, light batter and the cheese fries were hot and fresh with plenth of them. Waitress was friendly and awesome.

We were looking for a new place to eat. I remember passing Fred's diner and suggested going and trying it out. As we approached my wife said no way. I made a turn in and I said go look inside. Well we wound up going in and having some of the best burgers onion rings and fries we ever had. Looking forward to going back and trying something else.

Will be. Back ! Wings fried zucchini and steak sandwich was Great as you can see in photos very nice portions fresh and we loved the zucchini and fresh horseradish sauce ! Fish nuggets were the only thing we didn't enjoy they may be good but ours were really over cooked . Kc our waitress was to say the least. An awesome waitress! Never had to call her over or ask for anything she asked us before we had a chance . She was extremely nice and made us feel welcome welcome from min.one Thank you Fred's

Old fashioned. Black and white tile floors with old crome bar etc. Potato salad amazing! Good spicy BBQ sauce and hand tossed onion rings. Burgers were thick and juicy.

Friendly staff. My husband's omelet was out of this world delicious but the sausage gravy needs work it had no flavor! Sausage gravy is supposed to be salty and peppered not slightly sweet and bland

Just had lunch at Big Fred’s as we’ve driven by multiple times but never stopped. Wow, what a great place to eat!! The service was great and the food was phenomenal! Full of flavor and all homemade! Big Fred even came out to greet us and asked how are meal was! This little hole in the wall is a hidden gem! If you’re in the Hudson area, totally recommend stopping by. Get the house made Rueben it was delish!

Came in to pick up my order and was told that it was not ready yet, after waiting for 15 minutes, I was told it was ready, but all the burgers and fries were cold and the buns soggy.

Nice Burger Shop with more than just Burgers!

This place was amazing!! New England style roast beef sandwiches are spot on! Hubby got a chili burger that was literally the size of the plate... And the flavor was fantastic! He says the chili on the burger was some of the best he ever tasted. My granddaughter never finishes her meals, but ate her entire burger and said it was the best ever!!! Our server, sorry I forgot her name, was the friendliest, most attentive and informative server ever! And the owner/chef personally came out to greet us! If you're ever in the Hudson, FL area, you MUST stop at Big a Fred's Route 66... Trust me, You will thank me!

I haven't seen anything like this in my life of eating food, ordered 2 patty melts, double patty and it looks like whoever made it just gorilla gripped the flavorless patties and threw it on the bread like a 4 year old. Pretty unbelievable. $45 meal for the dogs. Obviously the food was served that way. That's your bread, fries and ridiculous beef.
