Great food, range of craft beers and cocktails. Best to book if wanting dinner on Friday / Saturday or arrive early (by 6pm). Their smoking and bbq meat platter only go until they run out so get in early! Brisket was some of the best I’ve ever had…

Room had a lot for it, sink, mirror, closet, kettle, teas, bed. Window with blinds... But no heat or ac. I kept taking hot showers to warm up, 3-4 a day. I got the wrong key for the wrong room, took a while to find someone to get me the right key. The way in and out, when not restaurant hours was sketchy but worked.

Popped in for a beer with the family during a day excursion to Fremantle, haven't been for years and was surprised to see how nice the outside area looked with lots of hanging plants and greenery, has a great tropical feel. Loads of choice on tap, we didn't eat, however menu looks interesting, especially the BBQ slow cooked smoker share plate which we saw being served to another group. We will be back to try it out.

I had a great experience staying at the Norfolk Hotel. The staff were friendly and the manager, Drew McPheat, went above and beyond in helping me (even some time after my stay) by posting an item which I had left behind. Thank you, Drew! The hotel's location is excellent, close to the harbour, Fremantle Prison and other museums and just along the road from Fremantle Market. The room was comfortable, both it and the bathroom were kept very clean. Highly recommended!

Our first time at the Norfolk Hotel restaurant! It is a prime location in Fremantle with great atmosphere, music, and heating. I highly recommend the Crispy Buttermilk Chicken burger (pictured) and the From The BBQ Feasting Board (feeds 2-3). I deducted one star for the chips that came with the burger. The chips served were the crushed up leftovers that had already gone cold, instead of freshly cooked hot chips. I deducted another star for the drink prices. It is an average of $13-$15 for a pint of any type of beer and $19-$25 for a cocktail. It would be great to see a beer special for $6-$8 a pint and potentially even a cocktail special for $10-$15.

The Norfolk recently hosted my family and I for a special Function for the Wake of a family member. Their staff leading up to and during the function were extremely accommodating, understanding and helpful. They made sure everything was organised well and hosted perfectly on the day with a very nice selection of food and good communication on the bar tab. Thank you Drew and Norfolk Staff for your help at a difficult time.

Great location and good vibes! On the weekend, I would recommend reserving a table as we had to move 3 times until we found a table that wasn’t reserved (only tables outside were left, which was fine). There were a couple vegan options, but the rips were already sold out by the time we ordered - make sure you come early if you want the rips!

I’m sorry but $20 for a cheese burger the size of a whopper junior and a handful of chips? Though it was tasty, it was far too small for the price paid. And $9 for a bowl of chips?!? Add to this three patrons who insisted on yelling every 5 minutes or so at the top of their lungs to draw attention to themselves and no staff asked them to reign it in (this was on a relatively quiet Thursday night) and that’s strike three. So long Norfolk. It’s been real.

years of drinking here aside, I had to write a review after our casual meal tasted almost fine dining. Chicken burger and BBQ Chicken pizza done so well, so tasty, it was on another level. how can this salad be so cheap ? perfectly balanced and dressed. well done. looking forward to trying more on your menu.

Rare to find the pub with the lot; imaginative and communicative management, competent staff, above average food, extensive craft beer a wine range. As visitors, came twice and did not disappoint. A highlight of our 4 nights in Fremantle

Room was just right for a solo traveller. Bed nice and comfy and the shared bathroom clean, spacious and came equipped with bottled shampoo/conditioner and body wash. Room had a tv sink, fridge and wardrobe. No aircon but the ceiling fan was sufficient. Welcome drink voucher was a nice touch! Will def stay again.

The Norfolk is in a great location - only 100m from the Markets and the ' Cappuccino Strip'. It has a great bar with two outdoor underdercover dining areas - both quite airy. Good atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff. Seems to be a favourite with the 20 - 30 somethings but with an older crowd too. The bar has a good range of beers on tap and also wines and spirits. Cocktails are available. There is a happy hour from 6 - 7.00pm - every day ( I think). The menu is fairly large. ranging from smaller plates and side dishes, the usual mains ( good oysters mussels and fish) and there is sa dedicated BBQ. Reasonably priced and fast service. There is an outdoor smoking area overlooking South Terrace. ' Music provided by Blondie ' as the sign outside said one day. The music is mainly 70's and 80's classics ( playlist chosen by the staff I suspect) and as a boomer myself, I enjoyed it very much. Though it can be a little loud for quiet conversation. All in all a great place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and the food ( and in my case reminisce). Possibly the best Pub in Fremantle. Try it and see. It can be very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The pub at the hotel seems a popular place for people to get a beer, chill, relax and chat with the loud music.. We went there for lunch as recommended by a local. Had fish & chips and prawn spaghetti for lunch. $50 in total for the food. Overall a good meal.

We walked by this place and liked the look of the grotto like pub so decided to give it a try for lunch. Ordered a mushroom burger and Caesar salad to share and two of the cacao stout. No stout so had to settle for a Heineken. Bill was $70 for lunch. Food arrived in reasonable time. Mushroom burger was cut in half as ordered but oozing aioli. Fries were there but only taking up space on the plate. The salad was virtually inedible because of the excessive amount of dressing which seemed to be the same sauce as was on the burger. We advised the server about our disappointment and she agreed - only offering to pass along our complaint. Bottom line I wouldn’t recommend the food here but nice vibe for a drink.

What an amazing Little Gem. With above and beyond friendly staff. Clean and inviting rooms. Our very late-night check-in was met with welcoming staff whose kindness in making us comfortable was just wonderful after what was a very long and exhausting flight to WA. Thank you, Maria, your team is amazing.

Love the BBQ, been told it is Argentina BBQ, that is why we first visited, then couldn’t stop coming back again and again. Chef Matteo explained us everything regarding the meat

I've always enjoyed this place in the past, today after a few years absence I went there and it was awesome, I had the the smoked beef ribs ( recommended by the friendly staff) I gotta say, the best barbecue I've ever had, just wow, I'll certainly be back.

Porter house steak awful. Asked for medium rare, over done. Too expensive for over cooked steak, two asparagus shoots, four string beans and cooked spinach.

Ordered the BBQ platter for four between three of us costing $120, really poor portion size for a supposed 'feasting board' . I'd say two hungry people would finish that no problem, Absolutely no value here whatsoever, compared to say the Hunter & Barrel feasting board at $10 less for a similar amount of food, the chicken was superb, but the rest of the meal was a let down. Sausages were pretty average, Brisket was ok but the lamb was frankly inedible, overcooked and tiny eye of lamb in the chop and a huge amount of fat that was wasn't rendered. Mentioned it to a staff member only to be told "lamb is a fatty meat" Given better quality sausages and lamb with the addition of some beef short ribs and a half rack of pork ribs, it might have been passable. Disappointing as I've eaten well here before

Enjoyed a birthday dinner with friends on Saturday night. We had booked a pretty large group and were greeted by Lauren. What a fabulous member of staff to have - she was welcoming, succinct, amazingly organised and it was all delivered with a beautiful happy smile. It's quite refreshing to have a team who clearly enjoy their work. From a customer's perspective it's the little extra that makes your evening. Thank you Lauren and to your co-workers; we on the receiving end really do appreciate great service, tasty food and a bright smile.

Everything you want from a pub but more.Friendy staff who know their products & are happy & enthusiastic. Food is great..tuna tartare the best we've had anywhere & the smoked meats are perfectly balanced & tender. The venue is gorgeous, it's clean, right in the centre of Freo. Honestly can't fault it,we had a fantastic lunch there today. Great job 👏

Amazing!!!!! This quirky Pub has it all! The location 10/10. The Food 10/10. The Service 10/10. Loved it. The Burger was amazing, very nice Mayo and the Pattie cooked to perfection. The Brisket mouth watering and moist, yep, I said it 😉. The chicken Pizza wood oven perfection. The Pork Belly was nice, a little dry but the taste brilliant. Cold drinks and the atmosphere amazing. Will definitely be back

Great bbq. Had a smoker sharer board and it was delicious! They have a few options for non alcoholic beers which is good for me as I don’t drink alcohol. Big selection of other drinks too. Great atmosphere, very relaxed and friendly. Would reccomend coming here for drinks or food. My friend stayed in the hotel and said the rooms were nice and she had a good night sleep.

Had lunch there today, the 1 star is for the staff who were pleasant. No stars for the food, it was a disgrace. Others in our group agreed. Given all the positive reviews we must have caught the 'chef' on a bad day

Amazing place to sit and have a drink & some food. My brother spilt his beer over me and the staff were so helpful, especially the Maria who not only helped me but comped my brother a drink as well! Definitely a choice venue.

A fantastic place to stay in Freo. A gorgeous old pub. The rooms were fine, nothing bespoke about them but that's ok. Would love to see some vegan options on your menu - even an impossible burger! Thanks for having us. x

The Norfolk Hotel Fremantle, with iconic stone architecture, dates back to 1887. The Norfolk is centrally located, opposite the Fremantle Markets, with leafy green courtyards that create a tropical welcoming atmosphere. Inside the charming Oldfellows Bar is well stocked with intimate seating and a private function area. A great venue for a meal or drinks with friendly staff. Tasty sharing plates with smoker and BBQ meal options Thursday to Sunday. Worth a visit. #Officially_perth

Love this friendly local spot. There's always great staff waiting to greet you and amazing food that's constantly changing. I stayed at the hotel last year with my partner and we found that it was perfectly situated in the center of fremantle. There's aeslos an inside room thats great for private events aswell which is nice for a more personal experience (usually dinner with my in laws 😘) Overall my favourite spot to go.

We arrived late after a long drive. Staff were helpful, polite, friendly. Our room was spotless as was the shared bathroom. A complimentary drink for both of us was offered at the bar. Fantastic location and great cafe across the road for breakfast!

We went here a week ago, having fun with the music and drinks. The food was so delicious and atmosphere was so terrific. The staff were very friendly. Good for weekend plans with friends and food on the weekdays with family.

Good beers. Good food. Chill tunes, without being dull. A fit-out with charm and personality. A genuinely cool place but without trying to be trendy. Honestly a must go every time I come back to the west coast. Oh, and anywhere that keeps live music going on this town gets extra points from me. Make it 6 out of 5 stars.

The Sicilian Seafood Bowl is the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time. I forgot to take a picture and was doing that silly dance you do when you love what you eat, you know? Price was also really good ($26 plus the drinks). Highly recommended! I’m not from WA otherwise you’ll see me here every.single.weekend. Delicious!

Private function in the Green room. Fantastic night, food was delicious, staff were friendly. Good selection of cocktails and drinks. A bonus, it was Kid friendly as well. Highly recommend the venue if you are looking for a place to host a function.

Delicious and creative food and drinks. Bright yet rustic vibe. Great service from the knowledgeable imma (maybe Emma? 😅) at the bar and Alex, with the greatest most fantabulous beard we’ve ever seen! Will be back with more friends for sure.

I had the smoker combo meal thing, yeah? And the pesto potato ugh so good. Then the beef brisket and the chicken thigh and the pork medallion they just crumble in your mouth. When all that meat feels your mouth needs something soft, nimble away on their lightly toasted bread, as well as other side dishes like salad and tomatoes

The price with sagging mattress, white duvet cover has dirts and stains, NO hair dryer and can't even borrow it. Not worth it. Stayed for two nights, told the housekeeper no need to clean my room in the afternoon of the second day before I left my room. (The floor was clean) But don't know why there was a rubbish of empty Panadol caplets left on the floor when I went back to my room at night. It seems there was someone in my room. So creepy.....

Visited the Norfolk for lunch and a few beers. Great pub near Fremantle oval with a large selection of tap beers both craft and mainstream brewers. lunch menu with classic pub fare and pizzas. The burger was tasty and settled for the Swanny D. Recommend this pub for a lazy Sunday arvo

Dropped into the patio midday for a pint in the sun. Nice beer selection, great space to relax in, helpful staff. The blaring music was a collection of terrible 80s ballads that I could only picture being played if you wanted to clear customers out. It worked.

It's the garden for me. I like greenery, they have greenery. They also have good food and a good selection of beer for you bloke type creatures. My boss who is now of a top knot wearing hipster kinda person informs me that they have a decent wine selection too. Many different sitting areas from gardens to booth to couches. Good specials and I even tried something called "Goats cheese" which is well out of my steak and burger comfort zone. If I was an actual foodie or was one of those quality over quantity people, I'd have my day cut out for me trying the menu. However as no one handed me an offline personality, it mainly went to default pub spec items. Zombie defence: This is actually, to my surprise, very defendable. You could indeed hold your own against the hoards here. Whilst dining in style. Overall rating for both food and zombie is 8/10.

Family get together recently. Great staff helpful in getting a table even though we had not booked. Had a drink while waiting. Great food. Had a prawn pasta super fresh. Always loud but fun.

The restaurant here is a place we regularly come to! Great for a Sunday pint and pizza, the pulled pork croquettes are to die for too! Love how they usually have decent range of beer available too. Can’t go past the open smokery without having a little look either. As food smokers ourselves we love to have a look and sometimes a chat to the people behind there!

Amazing food and brilliant wine list. The BBQ was a definite winner. Atmosphere great, place designed well. Need improvement on staff training, most were great but just one or two being rude or unhelpful. Rolled eyes and asking a person from table of 10+ to get the water themselves is average. Just get a few bottles it isn't that hard. Otherwise great.

Went for dinner. Was lovely atmosphere and the food was quick and delicious. The staff where really good with allergy awareneness (ceoliac), though would have loved to see a couple more options on the menu, what I had was great. Highly recommend. Would love to see the addition of ordering from the table.

My family had a great dining experience at the Norfolk Hotel on Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere and aesthetic was perfect for dinner. There was a large range of high quality craft beers on tap. The staff were kind and service was quick. The only negative was the small serving sizes of the burgers. However the food across the menu tasted great.
