👍👍 If you’re looking for the weird in Portland, this is your stop. Small, free mueseum takes about 15-20 minutes and it’s located in a small neighborhood with limited parking. Only open the first and fourth Sunday of the month. We were very lucky to catch this unique museum on a weekend it was open as... People often mention museum, cool, world, worth, open, weird,

Such a cool tiny museum! So many eclectic, organic, art pieces and specimens to explore. It’s open by appointment only. The artist/curator responded back to my email quickly and I was able to sneak in a visit on my short trip and so glad I did. It’s in a garage and the first floor is the mans workshop and the second floor is the museum that you get private access to for as long as you’d like to examine the work. Wish there was more hidden gems like this near me.

If you’re in the area this is a … must visit. Jim is very friendly, welcomed us in and directed us upstairs. The museum is all in a small car garage but still packs so much to see. It’s open the 2nd Sunday of every month. Jim does a great job of sucking you into this world and mystery that envelopes it. I’m glad that so much is left for you to interpret and visualize on your own. There’s lots of labels for things that are worth the read that serve as a guide in this wondrous world. We spent about 30 minutes and could have easily been there longer which says a lot about the usage of small space. Cool selection of gift shop items and no pressure to buy anything ! Did i mention it’s FREE admission ? this man could easily charge for this and is letting us into his world for free. Cool cool man. Will definitely stop by again in some time to see any new additions and maybe buy some books !

Interesting place ! Open by appointment which Google Maps does a poor job of showing. Love the pieces we'll have to return sometime in the future to see any new additions. Love the postcards and prints as well :) Few photos so you have to check it out yourself

A one of a kind experience. You will be transported to created historical/anthropological region the ‘Zymoglyphic Region” it is an absolute treasure. If you enjoy the bizzare and details in new art you will love this. Not recommended for everyone, but fantastic for those whose audience it seeks.

WOW. If you're from out of town, put this on your list. An incredible, well-cared for museum of oddities and wonders. It's free to get in so pick up a book or a postcard to support the museum.

It looks as if you've pulled up to someone's home. Go inside and visit the museum upstairs; it's magical.

Awesomely quirky perfectly-Portland attraction. A great way to spend an hour or so. Possible issues could be limited parking and some steep(ish) stairs to access the art, but these things just added to the experience for me. Recommend!

Neat and weird little art display. Definitely worth checking out, even more fun if you don't tell your friends what to expect. There's also a little gift shop. Check the website for hours as it's not open every day.

fantastic!!!!. elaborative edit: It's a tucked away art gallery pocket dimension garage museum diorama of dioramas. If any of those words pique interest in that part of your heart which sees primeval forests in mossy rocks and angelic architecture in seashells, well〜

Quirky little universe, complete with maps and eras, created here. Free entry, but open only on specific days so would recommend to check out their website for current timings. Goes perfectly in sync with Portland's weird spirit.

There is no real way to prepare oneself for the enchanting world of the Zymoglyphic Region. I could have spent half the day exploring these otherworldly artifacts & treasures. If you have an appreciation of strange loveliness, found objects, and what some might call whimsy while others say weird, then this unconventional hidden gem is for you. Maybe you're reading reviews to see if you mshould go, as I did, go.

Very cool and unusual creations. Delightfully creepy. A little hard to move around the space, especially with children, and hard to keep small hands to themselves. Better for slightly older kids.
