1/5 Nia I. 1 year ago on Google
I
scheduled
an
appointment
at
the
Aspen
Dental
in
Tarpon
Springs,
FL
because
I
was
experiencing
gum
pain.
I
was
examined
and
then
I
was
directed
to
sit
down
with
the
Office
Manager
who
presented
me
with
my
treatment
plan.
The
plan
included
the
gingivitis
treatment,
some
fillings,
a
root
canal,
a
crown
and
the
extraction
of
2-3
teeth.
I
was
told
that
I
was
fortunate
because
I
had
āgood
insuranceā
and
so
my
treatment
plan
was
now
āonlyā
going
be
around
$2200
instead
of
the
$8000
it
would
have
cost
without
insurance!
The
Office
Manager
was
unfriendly
and
seemed
irritated
when
he
told
me
that
I
needed
to
pick
a
treatment
plan.
One
would
be
extracting
2
teeth,
having
the
root
canal
and
crown
and
the
other
would
be
extracting
3
teeth
and
would
include
an
implant
that
would
cost
about
$5000!
When
I
asked
for
clarification
about
which
teeth
they
would
be
pulling,
he
seemed
annoyed.
Finally,
he
called
the
dentist
back
over
to
explain
to
me
which
teeth
they
recommended
pulling
and
why!
Instead
of
prioritizing
my
gingivitis
treatment
which
would
have
solved
my
main
complaint
of
my
gums
throbbing
whenever
I
ate
anything,
even
food
as
soft
as
bread,
the
doctor
first
scheduled
me
for
the
tooth
extractions.
I
was
told
that,
in
order
to
even
get
the
appointment
with
the
oral
surgeon,
I
would
be
charged
about
$200!
If
I
wanted
the
teeth
pulled,
I
obviously
didnāt
have
a
choice
but
to
pay
this
fee.
A
few
days
later,
I
returned
to
have
my
wisdom
tooth
and
one
of
my
molars
pulled.
The
experience
was
absolutely
horrifying
as
the
oral
surgeon
struggled
to
the
point
of
being
out-of-breath
to
yank
the
teeth
out
of
my
mouth.
They
had
numbed
the
area
where
my
teeth
were
being
pulled,
but
I
sat
there
completely
terrified
that
the
surgeonās
tools
were
going
to
slip
off
my
tooth
and
he
was
going
to
stab
me
in
my
tongue
or
smash
into
another
one
of
my
teeth!
When
I
expressed
to
the
surgeon
that
I
was
nervous,
he
asked
why.
He
had
tools
in
my
mouth,
so
I
couldnāt
really
say
much
and
his
response
to
that
was
āWell,
I
guess
I
canāt
help
you
then!ā
And
then
he
continued
struggle
with
my
teeth
until
he
finally
got
them
out.
The
next
day,
the
dentist
called
to
follow
up
to
find
out
if
I
wanted
to
come
back
in
so
they
could
examine
my
mouth
after
the
extraction.
I
declined.
After
the
experience
I
had
having
the
teeth
removed,
I
didnāt
want
anyone
near
my
mouth!
The
dentist
then
advised
me
that
they
were
going
to
cancel
my
root
canal
and
crown
for
now
because
they
wanted
to
see
how
I
would
do
for
the
next
2-3
months
without
the
two
teeth
they
pulled.
I
asked
when
I
should
come
in
again
so
I
could
have
my
gingivitis
treatment
and
I
was
told
that
the
Office
Manager
would
follow
up
with
me
to
schedule
that.
I
never
got
a
call.
I
called
the
next
day
to
again
inquire
when
I
should
come
in
for
the
gingivitis
treatment
and
I
was
told
that
I
should
just
call
to
schedule
my
appointment
the
following
week
āonce
I
was
feeling
betterā.
Since
I
didnāt
need
to
have
the
root
canal
or
the
crown,
I
expected
my
Care
Credit
bill
to
be
updated.
Of
course
it
wasnāt
and
continued
to
show
that
I
owed
$2200!
When
I
called
to
address
this,
I
was
told
that
the
phone
lines
were
being
forwarded
to
the
Palm
Harbor
office
because
the
Tarpon
Springs
office
was
busy
with
an
āall
day
trainingā.
I
explained
my
issues
to
the
Palm
Harbor
office
and
they
suggested
that
I
visit
their
office
instead.
I
was
happy
to
do
that
because
my
experience
with
the
Tarpon
Springs
office
was
so
poor!
I
never
intend
to
go
back
there!
