👍👍 We were approached by Davis and he offered us a tour to Curieuse for €70 for two people, plus 600 rupees for entry. We were supposed to pay a deposit of 300 rupees, but we received a receipt with all the details. It was supposed to start at 9, but the journey was delayed a bit. We just wanted to see... Just skip Denis and his junk friends, he is taking deposits, not showing up when agreed to return cash. Trying to sell trip at higher prices then established boat charters around.

All the boat tours are run by the same company. They work on commissions and pretend to offer a better price, but you all end up jammed in the same boat. We were told the boat would be covered but it wasn’t. The guys getting punters to buy places on the boats wonder around flaunting and waving all the money they’ve got from the tourists. The actual trip was cut short as the wave was stronger. There were no fish when snorkelling. The meal was not worth the money. Chicken (low quality) and rice.

Bad service ever! We took this tour, they asked money before and the driver of the boar was really (but really) rude with us just because we asked something for our son of 4 months old (an easy request)! Skip this company please

We were approached by Davis and he offered us a tour to Curieuse for €70 for two people, plus 600 rupees for entry. We were supposed to pay a deposit of 300 rupees, but we received a receipt with all the details. It was supposed to start at 9, but the journey was delayed a bit. We just wanted to see the turtles and return at lunchtime as we had another trip planned. We were assured that this would not be a problem. When we had to pay before departure, we felt a bit uneasy. In the end everything worked out, the crew was very nice and explained everything important. The turtles and the hike to the other side of the island where we were to be picked up were truly unforgettable. The beach isn't particularly nice, so we were glad we didn't book a long stay. There was the option to take part in the BBQ there and later go on to St. Pierre for snorkeling. It seems to be great there too because we saw the island as we drove past. Unfortunately we didn't have time for it. The return journey was no problem. As requested, we were immediately taken back to Anse Volbert by a small boat within 10 minutes. Unfortunately I had forgotten my shoes on the island. The nice skipper wanted to look for it and actually brought it to my accommodation later. I was so grateful. Overall we can't say anything bad. You have to have some faith.

Were approached on the beach by Davis. He sold us the 1 day tour to the island of Courious, barbeque and short snorkeling at the island of St. Pierre for €65 per person plus 300 rupees entrance fee per person to the island of Curious. He offered us a free pick-up at the hotel and a return trip in the evening. So we agreed. We were picked up promptly at 9 in the morning, 10 minute drive to the boat beach and actually had a great day. The island was great and its beach. The BBQ was delicious and the snorkeling session was unfortunately a bit short and you didn't see much fish. (wrong place to snorkel?) In the evening the driver loaded us up again, including Davis (King Creole's salesman from the previous day) and we headed back. Davis was unloaded after a 5 minute drive (at his home) and then another 5 minute walk to the hotel. When I arrived, I prepared a tip for the driver and when I wanted to give it to him, he looked at me in horror and said it cost 300 rupees and not just the tip. Then we were horrified (we don't care about the 300 rupees). But we were not informed that we still have to pay for the trip separately. The driver was angry and even told us he had asked Davis in Creole who was paying for the ride. And Davis told him we'll pay. The driver said he wouldn't drive for him anymore! We were tired and didn't feel like arguing any further so we paid him. A bottomless impudence. We would have agreed to the transfer for 300 rupees. But selling a tour like that and keeping it quiet and then even driving us home at our expense is not possible! Be honest! That lasts the longest! Otherwise the trip was cool. Therefore only 3 stars. Otherwise there would have been 4.

We were referred by our accommodation, had no idea about this, it's just like a coffee trip in Europe! But you can't say anything negative about the boat drivers and the people on the island who cooked etc. They made an effort, we just missed looking after and helping with the turtles, we were totally on our own! But the island itself is worth a visit!

We did a full day tour to Curieuse Island and St. Pierre with BBC. Strong recommendation not to book with this provider because of a very unprofessional behavior on their side. The boatsmen was very rude and impatient. Generally, I would rather do the Curieuse trip without snorkeling at St Pierre as the corals at this spot are all dead. You can hardly see any fish and the little corals left are getting killed by the sunscreen of the snorkelers. Snorkeling closer to La Digue appears to be a better option.

I don't want to be too critical, but I have to be honest. First, we bought a trip to Curieuse Island to see the turtles. That was great, BUT the guide was able to tell us to start our trip from the southern part of Anse St. Jose Island, which has a nice beach and awesome sea for swimming, but we only saw turtles at Tortoise Sanctuary, which is their farm. I have to say it was a great experience and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the guide told us to take the Tortoise trail, he would pick us up at the southern part, so we only spent a little time with the turtles to be in time for the ride. Better to get picked up at the Tortoise Sanctuary. I rate this trip 3.5/5. However, upon our return, a second person from the same company offered us an exclusive snorkeling trip to the surrounding islands tomorrow. We went snorkeling on Anse la Farine, which is full of beautiful fish and coral. Then on to Big Sister and Small Sister islands (no big deal) and then to Felicite Island where the diving sucked. Plus we were promised to see turtles, sharks, octopus. We only saw fish and a couple of turtles from the boat, so definitely don't be fooled, the guy driving the boat honestly told us that we had no chance of seeing sharks and octopuses while snorkeling. This trip rates 2/5. Maybe a little more, if you haven't been on Anse la Farine before. Also we should get soft drinks and didn't. If you want to go snorkeling at Anse la Farine, there is an old fisherman on Anse la Blague beach who will give you a ride around the island for a fraction of the price of other tour operators.

They take money in advance and we got unprofessional experience (delays, no refunds, etc). Strictly NOT recommended. Run away from King Creole.

I want to balance all the bad critics here: Yes, the tour operators deal with each other and move the tourists so the boats are full. Yes, they take payment in advance. Yes, there is a fee for Curieuse national park. Yes, they all do the same tour with some time pressure. But hey, that’s the way these things are organized also in our (Western?) countries. If you want VIP service, hire a boat for yourselves - and pay significantly more. The skippers were professional, not super friendly but absolutely correct. The island is beautiful if you take your time to walk through the mangroves. The tortoises are fun to see (listen to some other guides free of charge…). The lunch was prepared on site with fresh ingredients and even better than in some of the tourist places, we’ve eaten. The snorkeling was pretty good, I would have likes to stay longer, but the skipper asked to leave after an hour (exactly as agreed). So, you want an organized tour with other tourists? Here you go. EUR 70 for adults, EUR 50 for older kids, free for out 5 year old. We enjoyed the day :-)
