Apparently used to be a more authentic street market before being centralized here. Good variety of fruit, vegetables and fish though. The extremely friendly lady with the fruits and veggies is locally known not to be so much on the honest side with both tourists and also locals. Agree to disagree with the previous comment on "giving back". Betrayal is betrayal and absolutely not honorable. So beware to avoid paying the "tax for the stupid" :-).

Agree on tourist trap. 20€ for a pineapple from the local garden and crazy prices for mangos imported from Egypt.

Sadly you'll have to avoid this place at all cost. Came for some fruits and were greeted by the "nice" lady in the back - left. Although I specifically asked for individual prices, she "made" a total on a small bag of fruits asking for 500SCR. Worst thing is that I had to throw almost all of them as they were expired and inedible. She saw we are a family with kids, but cared only for the money. Avoid!

Avoid the “friendly” and pushy woman who will try to offer you “free” samples, make wild claims about the health benefits of her vegetables, then cheat you on the prices. Her booth is on the far left. The more reserved Indian man in the first booth on the left seems to charge much more fair and honest prices.

Market sells fruit, vegetables and fresh fish. Opens at 6am, but I cannot verify that. Prices touristy, but that is one way of giving a little back.

Tourist trap, 50 rupees for a bad looking paprika and an onion! What a joke, in Victoria it's 15 rupees. You see white people and ask extraorbitant prices! Racism works both ways it seems.. We bought nothing and went to a local supermarkt where we paid 15 rupees 😅 WARNING!! Do not let the locals scam you.

An absolute scam. This place doesn’t deserve even one star. Products have no price tags on them, so when sellers see you’re a tourist, they name exorbitant prices. They told us a small melon would cost us 160 scr while it normally costs around 50 scr. If you’re in the area and want fresh fruits or veggies, our hosts recommended us to go to a selling point next to Saluha Garden Center instead where the prices should be better. Also, the market on the western side of the island had normal prices and price tags. I think that’s the only place where we’ve seen such a shameful attitude towards tourists. AVOID AT ANY COST

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! It's tourist trap, they have usually 2 or 3 times higher prices for tourists. You can buy coconut for the same price or lower on the beach. And the lady there is super unfriendly! Just avoid!

Tourist trap. Widest selection of fruits I have seen on the Seychelles, even more types of fruits than in Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market.
