Happened upon this great place, best food I’d had in a while, make sure to book beforehand and payment will be cold hard cashdollars no cards. Food is vegetarian and there is no menu you get what you got. But trust me you want what this man is gonna bring you. The best freshest warmest bread right out of the oven, the mozzarellaiest mozzarella you will ever have, cheeses, so many cheeses, salads made from salad ingredients and non-salad ingredients. And just when you thing the food will never stop coming you’re hit with a dessert that will blow your mind accompanied with a real coffee. Did I mention the little deep fired cheese balls of goodness 😍 get in my face. Another plus is that the seating is so that you feel like you’re the only table there 👌🏻 I’m not one for veggie food in general, but if I could give 6 stars I would. I’ll be back. Bravo sir, Bravo

Delicious food! Every single element from the lettuce leaves to the bread is so full of flavour and you can tell it's all made with love. The setting is so lovely and peaceful, the music just right, wonderful service and extremely reasonably priced! If you have a chance to visit, definitely take it as you will not regret it! Book in advance and bring cash

A cheese extravaganza. My husband and I rearranged our honeymoon travel plans to do both lunch and a cheese-making course here -- and it was SO worth it. (I do advise making reservations well in advance; we were too late to book a stay at the cottage but ended up at a nice Airbnb nearby.) Visiting Fynboshoek Cheese is truly like stepping into another world. We learned so much from the owner/operator, who doubles as an incredible chef. Will never forget the picturesque, relaxed afternoon we spent there with him and his Rhodesian Ridgebacks, enjoying everything from the haloumi and ricotta we observed being made to the scrumptious cheesecake served as dessert to round out our meal. Highly recommend wandering down to the pond too if there's time.

Authentic experience, slightly off the beaten track. The milk for all the cheese is right there on the farm: cows, goats and sheep. Everything is homemade: cheese, butter, ice cream, bread etc. Plenty and plenty of wonderful cheese. We arrived at 12h30 and only left at 16h00. Was my 2nd visit

We had just eaten at the 60’s diner the day before, and felt so sick from it, that we were fearful to eat again. We ended up going here anyway; it was a total saving grace. We didn’t know what to expect, but made a reservation in advance, and showed up. We were greeted by the owner at his beautiful home, seated, served a delicious platter of cheese, an incredible salad made with greens from his garden, freshly baked breads. It was a very relaxing environment. We played a game of chess and drank coffee. The owner let us take our time as we savored the food and environment. It was the best cheese and vegetables I’ve ever eaten. It was a fixed menu. We found out it was byob and wished we had brought our own wine. Highly recommend.

Incredible food (cheese, garden salad, coffee, pecan nut pie, yoghurt, muesli and more), amazing service and hosting (we stayed the night), and a world-class location and time in a gem of a hideaway. We felt we were in rural France, the English countryside, and yet South Africa simultaneously. Will come again. And soon!

Just stunning! Make sure to reserve a table. The owner only offers lunch and you are eating in his house. 10/10 would recommend. We ate Burrata which was made just the evening before and ricotta that was produced the morning we were there.

We had an amazing meal, the cheese was perfectly paired and beautifully presented. Our host was friendly with great service and the setting was really special, tucked away between trees next to a gentle stream. We will definitely be going back for more.

This is a very interesting, beautiful place! We were seated inside where the room was heated by a fireplace. It is a small venue with only a few tables. The owner and restaurateur serve you with a selection of organic homegrown salads, cheeses, and freshly baked bread and rounds it off with a devine home baked desert and freshly brewed coffee. It is a special experience and culinary treat. There is not an a la carte menu and the meal prepared for that day is served. You have to mook in advance. In my opinion it is not suited for small children but teens with a flare for vegetarian type food will enjoy it too. I will recommend this as a nice and interesting treat when you visit the Plett / Tsitsikamma area.

Beautiful place with nice cheese and very tasty bread. Lovely pecan pie dessert. Very good service. Just a little expensive for the ordinary local.

An amazing lunch experience! The home/restaurant is so cute and the food was incredible, fresh, homemade and centered around cheese! The owners dogs also were adorable! This was my favorite meal in South Africa! Note that you definitely should book ahead

I don’t often leave reviews. But occasionally you have an experience that leaves you completely blown away. It felt like stepping into their home and a world of fresh produce, incredible bread and of course outstanding dairy. Stumbled upon it but if you’re driving by an absolute must stop. Couldn’t fault this experience
