I was quite nervous. Per call I spoke with Daphne and Amanda. Their manner and tone was easy friendly and professional. My experience at the Donkin was wonderful the room I was in is self-catering and it even had a hairdryer two point plugs installed incase you forgot yours free wifi and warm water during loadshedding there's a TV even though I didn't watch I my preference. The setting is quiet and lovely. All you need is you and your clothes if you forgot stuff shops right down on the main road My first experience in Beaufort made great by the Donkin

We enjoyed our stay. Clean, safe although rooms next to the main road have a lot of noise.

The door of room 10 which I use doesn't close properly because it left space on the bottom that brings dust and tree leaf inside the room when the wind blows that can lead to health hazard.

Would not recommend! The tannie at the reception insisted in giving me and my partner 2 separate beds, we are a interracial homosexual couple, welcome to South Africa The room was dusty, the bed uncomfortable, the road is noisy, and also if you go there take your own 2ply toilet paper, otherwise you must "wipe twice"

I booked accommodation for my family at this elite Guest House for one night (11 Dec 23) and was on the road for the whole day from Gauteng en route to Paarl. On arrival at about 19h00 I told by the lady at the reception that the flat that I have paid for was not available as the guest that was supposed to leave this morning are stil in the apartment and they only realised it this afternoon! I hereby whish to express my disappointment to the management of this facility in handling this matter. Why did you not inform me during the day about this hickup, are you client orientated or are you money driven! I looking forward to my request on a refund as we did decline the second room that you have offered due to the safety of our minor kids and five of us are cramped in into one room! Your speedy response will be appreciated!

The booking system that they have in place is not reliable , they over book their rooms and have zero communication skills coming to their clients They do not notify their guest about the problems that they face with the rooms in advance or to come up with a solution and have you pay the full amount when you arrive for Sony that was not booked Customer service from the receptionist is appalling I do not recommend this place if you are travelling or booking in advance for a good night’s rest

We stopped here for breakfast on our way back to Gauteng. The breakfast includes cold dishes such as breakfast cereals, yogurt and fruit and then a warm breakfast consisting of 2 eggs, a sausage, toast and bacon for R120 pp. It was a good breakfast, except the coffee could be a little better. The staff were friendly, we will definitely stop over here again.

Very nice place to stay over. Neat, and no cleaning staff making noise early in the morning

I booked a room for my daugther and son in law with their baby. When they arrived they were told that they had to sleep in a different place across the street, not in the country house as booked and seen on the website. No water or electricity! Very mis -leading. When you pay just over R1000 for a night you expect to at least get what you paid for and booked.

Descent room size. Comfortable beds. Premises was clean and perfectly situated on N1. They offer breakfast and dinner as well at an additional cost, but options are limited.

Looks like it might be a decent B&B. Unfortunately, they made a point of advertising themselves on the street as a 'restaurant' that serves 'breakfast'. It's a generic 'B&B breakfast', not a restaurant. Packet coffee, cereal and yoghurt and some eggs. For R120! If you are driving through Beaufort on your way elsewhere and cruising for a breakfast spot, you are better off giving this one a miss.

My stay was lovely and all that, but I'm struggling to get an invoice since I booked via Booking.com. The receptionist said they can't assist me. I'm not happy on that part, I really need my invoice.

Room was neat and clean. Service was good. Room was a bit light for good night’s sleep. Found the buffet dinner a bit expensive. But great stopover to Cape Town.

Sadly the venue deteriorated since my last visit. General maintenance is lacking, although the gardens are still very well maintained. Food quality is also not where it was.

Donkin Country House is by far one of the best lodges I have ever been to. I stayed in a two bedroom flat with my family and everything was perfect. The flat was very spacious, it had a wonderful style and was kept exceptionally clean. The staff were very polite and friendly and the service was excellent. The food was also amazing too. All and all I'd say the Donkin Country House is the best place to stay if you need to stay over somewhere in the Beaufort West area.

We booked for Donkin Guesthouse 27 December 2021. We got there and were told that Donkin is full but we'd be accommodated at their other property Appirklaas. To even give it one star is too much. What a horrible place to stay. They were happy to take our money but we were not good enough for them to give us what we deserved.

Donkin Country House is very much ideal and a welcoming refresh stop over, if you are travelling on the N1 route. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived something to 11pm and they still managed to help us. The accommodation is in excellent condition and very clean. So, if you need a good nap or rest on your journey, I’ll definitely recommend. You will not be sorry and it’s very affordable. Safe travels, until next time!😉
