We really enjoyed the beautiful buildings, tasteful interoirs, gardens, silence and clear night sky .... and the friendly, well mannered pets that welcomed us. 5 Stars to the delicious evening meal and beautiful bedroom and bathroom. The atmosphere and history of this lodge left a pleasant and lasting impression on us.

It's, to us anyway, a hidden jem on the N1 just outside of Beaufort West. The rooms have a rustic charm, comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms, but it's the property at large and it's friendly and attentive staff that really has us won over. The meals are a true representation of the area and are delicious. This will bow be our home away from home when visiting Beaufort West or stopping over on longer trips.

We could not have enjoyed our stay at Lemoenfontein more! The rooms are all beautiful and very spacious. The pool area is perfect for an afternoon of relaxing. The bar area is also perfect for relaxing and is beautifully decorated. The food was delicious. We had dinner and breakfast both days we were there and I'm still craving more! The staff were incredible and so warm, welcoming, attentive and accommodating. The place is also pet friendly which we absolutely loved. I think it's safe to say that Lemoenfontein is a new family favourite and will be our new getaway location. Thank you all for a wonderful stay and we look forward to visiting again soon!

Lemoenfontein was an extraordinary experience far from the madding crowd and surrounded by the Karoo "vlaktes". The staff: Brilliant, Joshua and Irene welcomed us with such friendliness that we felt at home from the word go! Thank you to every one! The excellent dinner served in a beautiful diningroom with a crackling fire on a cold winter's evening was an amazing experience! The birds invited to drink water from various birthbaths was a delight for us birders!!!! We will gladly visit you again!!!!

Ahh Man What an experience the farm is located just before the weigh bridge entering Beaufort West on a sandy Gravel Track, on our way in we sat some springbok and Zebra. Greeted by Brilliant at the gate who showed us where to park and where each of our rooms were, which has a tv with DSTV and all essentials. Brilliant and Justice were great given us some history on the property and showing us around. Lovely rooms with everything required to be comfortable and cook your own food on the braai. Breakfast was great and their coffee is right up there I must say. Backup generator is also on site being cut off at to allow for the tranquility at night The farm has a rich history stemming from 1850 as a retreat, Wish we had more time to explore the farm and all the possible Walking, Hiking and cycling tracks. Would recommend this as a stop over anytime.

Embarking on my journey through the vast expanse of the South African Great Karoo, I discovered a hidden gem – Lemoenfontein, a sanctuary for the weary traveler like me. As I stepped onto the grounds of this enchanting homestead/lodge, I felt an immediate sense of peace and wonder. #MyLemoenfonteinEscape 🌟 The historical significance of Lemoenfontein is palpable, with its origins dating back to 1850. The meticulous preservation of its Victorian-era charm, from the high ceilings to the original wooden floors, transports me to a bygone era. #StepBackInTime #HistoricalCharm

The lodge is very neat and beautiful with beautiful rooms with some friendly staff. We booked into one of the bigger rooms to accommodate our two small children. 1. The WiFi password was changed without notice. Granted this isn’t usually an issue only it was raining all day so not much to do. We know it was changed cause my husband overheard the staff talking about it and could make out the new password. I even asked the lady at reception if it changed and she said no. So she lied. 2. There was no hot water. We first thought it was cause of loadshedding so we gave it a few hours but later there was still none. When we complained the lady just shrugged and said we could shower at her house if it’s such an issue.. like no. We don’t want to go to another persons house to take a hot shower. We want to do it in the room we booked. Needless to say we bathed out kids in a basin with a cloth that we heated with kettle water. 3. This is when we realized the state of the kettle. It was full of calc. Just boil some vinegar and it’ll come off.. 4. They charged us 1300 for our kids even though our kids didn’t use anything extra than what the room provided. The kids also ate food we brought with us to the lodge. The one slept on the couch. And the other one in bed with us. Needless to say we won’t go back there.

Had a lovely time at Leomoenfontein - great staff, service and the dinner was such a lovely homely touch. If you have time, head out on a hike - there are many routes to choose from.

Thank you Irene & team for making our anniversary so special & for decorating our room! Really appreciate it! Insane location against the backdrop of mountains, with wide open plains in front. Far enough off the main road to feel like it's true wilderness, but not too far to detour your travels to / from Cape Town. Super tasty farm style home cooked meals & very attentive & interactive waiters - really awesome guys. Rooms are comfortable & cute! Was a lovely stay - thank you!

The is a rare gem of Beaufort West, in the foothill of the mountain overlooking the gorgeous Karoo landscape where sunset and sunrise is an event on its own. The place has the old charm and spacious characteristic with fireplace in the room and beautiful Dutch architecture. The three course meal is an absolute must to book as it's very remote and going out late in the evening is not practical in my opinion, besides the food is legendary and the service is beyond excellent. Be cautious coming with a car as there is a 5km dirt road, ok for 4x4 but not as much for sedans owners.

Food was so nice. The place is so beautiful with so many activities to enjoy. It is the best place for academics who would want some quietness when writing their Thesis or articles. It is near the mountains that is full of Springboks. I recommend the place to everyone and I enjoyed my stay....
